Not Special

i played this game more than 10 years ago
it was really FUN at that time
my friends and i kept playing it
the gameplay of this new one is the same
In comparison with modern games, Super Mario Advance 4 is not that special.
I recommend little kids who have never played it give it a try.
In my mind, Super Mario Advance 1, 2, and 3 are much better than 4.
If you like a more complicated game, this one is not for you.
Each stage in Super Mario Advance 4 is short.
Although there are many stages, you can beat the game in 1 or 2 days if you are good at hard games.

I loved this game on the old system and I was ecstatic when I saw it for the new GameBoy Advance. How could you not love this game? If you liked it before, you'll like it again. I recommend it.

This game rocks, I do not have it, but my brother has it. It has beautiful graphics and sounds. the levels are so extremely variated, but it is a snes port, so the chance is big for older gamers who has bought the game that they have played it on snes, but the younger gamers, such as childrens in about 6 to maybe 13 years, is this a wonderful and new game. But I think nintendo should make a brand new 2D mario game for GBA someday, but super mario advance 4 is fantastic.

This game is the best Mario Bros. game yet! The music is great. The new suits for Mario(Tanooki, Frog , Hammer)add a new twist to the game. Some levels require thinking, not just running around and beating enemies. The graphics and creativity in the game are great. I highly reccomend it to anyone who liked the first two games.

Nintendo seems to have found a great cash cow in re-releasing old NES and Super Nintendo games for the Game Boy. I could be cynical about them making a killing on old products, but why complain when it means I can play a game as great as Super Mario Bros. 3 again?
Unlike some old games, where the appeal in the re-release depends on nostalgia, this is a fun game whether you've played it before or not. In some basic ways, it sticks to the formula of the original Super Mario Bros., so you have the comfort of the familiar, but there are lots of new twists here, too. The racoon suit, and the ability to fly it confers, is the most amazing. And there are lots of different challenges, with some easy levels and some quite difficult. The game is paced well, so that you don't finish it in an hour, but you aren't driven crazy by the difficulty, either.
Yes, it would have been nice to have access to the bonus levels without getting the ecard reader (which I don't have, so I can't comment on how those levels are). The only bonus you can access directly through the game is the original Mario Bros., which gets old fast. But just on the merits of the original game, transfered to the Game Boy Advanced with no loss of fun, this is a great game.

Play Super Mario 3 Anywhere!

Used though it may be, I have been very happy with my Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 cartridge.

One of the biggest disadvantages of the original Game Boy - in my opinion - was that none of the original Game Boy cartridges were portable versions of games available on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Don't get me wrong; Super Mario Land and Super Mario Land 2 were great games, but who could beat being able to take Super Mario Bros. anywhere?

The Game Boy Advance SP changed that. Now, older gamers such as myself who remember the "golden age" when Super Mario Bros. 3 was considered "new school" gaming can play anywhere.

The production values (if that term applies to gaming) are very high with this cartridge. Everything on this cartridge - the overworld maps, the individual levels, the music - are all as they were back in 1990 when we first popped our Super Mario Bros. 3 cartridges into our NESs and started playing.

The only real difference is that this is a port of the Super Nintendo's Super Mario All-Stars version of Super Mario Bros. 3. That may disappoint some gamers, but I found the slightly enhanced music and graphics to be as enjoyable as the original game.

Great stuff! I recommend it for anyone who's interested in REAL Mario games and not the syrupy, kid-oriented, crappy Mario games (AHEM Super Mario Sunshine AHEM) we see today

Must have Classic
