super mario bros. 3 is the better than 1 and 2 because it has a map you can actually move around on, go to toads house, fight hammer brothers, and you can also go through 8 kingdoms, or, retrieve a warping whistle from the mini fortress or mini world 3, both in world 1. this whistle enables you to go from world 1 to any other world. world 8 is obviosly the hardest-I never have got through it. there are 8 mini worlds in world 8. I've never gotten past dark world. this is a definite must play-for both kids and adults. I would rate this at *****.

I just got this game a few hours ago the day it came out. Its just like playing SMB3 except for some other features which are all for the better. For one thing it's got some new background graphics. You can save the game unlike with the old NES. And there is also something called sleep mode which i kind of like a computer where the GBA turns off and you press select+L+R and its where you left off. You souldn't really have to read a review i think most people have played it so just go buy it its cheap for being a new release

Super Mario Bros 3 is the best game that came to the NES and the SNES systems. Now people who buy this game will say that this game is #1. The new items that are in this game are from super mario Bros 1,2,3, and Super Mario world like the white feather, the vegetables, and the football guards. On level 5 and 7 the bad guys on the airship you have to fight can be a tough time. When you hit them on your first move they start to bounce up and down shaking the airship to destroy you so the item you can use for Mario or Luigi is the P-wing. It help fly higher to get away from danger in only 1 stage. when you have beaten Bowser the princess will be in the castle and she will say that she is in another castle but it's just a joke. The strongest item in this game is the tanooki suit. You can turn into a statue for a short time and the P-wing is very powerful. Your mission is to save all 7 kings from all 7 stages and save the princess from Bowser to restore peace to the mushroom world. My advice can really help you alot so have fun.
still my childhood favorite

This game is excellent! It is just like the super mario brothers games that were out when I had my first Nintendo game player. It is identical to the Super Mario Bros 3 original, but they added additional secrets and graphics that give it a more modern video game appeal. Absolutely the best game for kids, it has goals and requires strategy, which many video games today lack. This is a game I still enjoy playing as an adult.

The People who made this game ruined it. First - they used the Super NES version from "Super mario all stars" and did even more enhancing to it (beside the graphics). They made mario talk. That is so annoying. This should have been made into a classic NES series like Super Mario bros. 1 was. The updated graphics aren't bad but it just doesn't make the game the original version

I bought this game for my girlfriend in order to justify my staying up countless nights playing my XBox! She's always loved the Mario games, especially Super Mario Bros 3. As I suspected, she is loving it, but I am also having a hard time putting it down! The minor tweaks that were introduced in this version are'nt as big as some would lead you to believe, and it's still the same games that we all enjoyed for the NES! This game alone is worth getting a Gameboy.
More fun than ever before

Super Mario Bros. 3 is just as great as when I first tore open the package to the old NES game on my 8th birthday - the music is classic, the graphics are good, the new items were fun, and the difficulty and complexity of the levels are off the charts.
*But* what really makes this GBA version special is the new e-Reader support. If you don't have an e-Reader and a Game Boy Player for Gamecube or a buddy with another GBA, this game definitely makes it worth your while to seek those things out. Some of the new levels are really hard and many include items, enemies, and obstacles not seen in the main game of Mario Bros. 3. Plus, you can scan in items not seen in the main game - imagine soaring through the Pipe Maze (World 7) with the cape from Super Mario World!
As Nintendo keeps releasing e-Reader expansion packs, the play value you get out of this game will continue to grow! If you own a GBA, you owe it to yourself to play this classic platformer.
Excellent Game!

A fun, challenging game that you will love if your a Mario fan! It started out on the Super nintendo and decided to make its way on the Game boy Advance. Mario or Mario and Luigi start out to different levels and places even at deserts, oceans, dark places etc! Saving the king and princess takes time. Each level can be difficult or easy. Getting coins, getting stronger, fighting monsters, passing your way through different objects. Cool already! Going on ships, traveling your way through dungeons is fun and exciting.
Thank Goodness We Still Have This

I played this game on my old 8 bit Nintendo Entertainment System years ago. It's truly an awesome game. I don't know if the Gameboy Advance version has added anything extra, but I know it didn't need to. The game was perfect years ago, and it's still perfect today. The only problem I had with the 8 bit game was it couldn't be saved and continued at another time. I assume the Gameboy Advance version has a saving feature.
I don't know if the levels were painstakingly designed or just thrown together, but they're absolutely great. Some of them are pretty tough though, especially towards the end where you have to go through all of the tank levels.
Some of the enemies on this game are pretty tough too, particularly the heavyset ones that shake the ground and stun you a bit.
My advice to those playing the game is this: Don't use the warp whistles if you happen to find them. They'll jump you ahead to levels that are so difficult you won't have enough lives and items to be prepared for them. This is a tough game, and it's twice as tough if you try to take shortcuts. Plus you miss so much when you skip levels. You miss frog suits, and takooni suits, and the giant enemies, and all of the fun stuff.
This game just has so much variety. New stuff is everywhere. Play every level and have a good time. Find that level with the giant boot to jump around in too. I love that one.
