Let me see. Are you one of those gamers who never found a great game in your whole life that's portable. Well it's about time they have something good. See I already played this game in a import shop and I was blown away by the graphics. I couldn't believe that soemthing this small could be so powerful. It's like a dream way in the past I had and I finally found it. Buy this game as soon as it comes out because it will be a game that will strike a new era in handheld videogames. Plus it has two mario games in one and also link play for 4 player battle! That is amazingly fun. Buy it fast or else there might be shortages because no one else can find a game like it...
Need Vegtables? This game's got them!

Super Mario Advance is two great and fully restored Classic Mario games. The main platform adventure is Super Mario Bros. 2. An evil frog named Wart has took over the land of dreams but Mario,Luigi,Princess Peach and Toad are out to save the day. Several levels filled with hazards such as shyguys roam the worlds but there's plenty of vegtables to be used as weapons agaist them. New voices added to old bosses such as Birdo,Mouser,Fry Guy and others. The other classic Mario game is Super Mario Bros. Turtles, crabs, and bees to stop you from advancing to the next level. It's a nice piece of restored work. The multiplayer feature let's you team up or battle it out in the Super Mario Bros levels. Bowser even drops by to give you a burst of fun. Super Mario Advance is a must have launch game.
Great Game!

Mario makes his debut on GBA! Super Mario Advance is probably my favorite game for GBA, although that may just be because it was my first.
However, in this game, you can play as either Mario, his brother Luigi, Princess Peach, and Toad. They all have special skills, which is one thing that makes this game extremely replayable and fun. You also have wonderful control over all of them and you rarely die because of sloppy controls. The graphics although not close to revolutionary at all, they are very bright and distinguishable which makes for convienent play.
The fact that nintendo also added the classic arcade version of Super Mario also makes this cartiage a good/fun buy. You can have lots of fun in the arcade-style Super Mario but sooner or later you will realize that it is near impossible to beat it without help. However, I have heard that the multi-player mode of both games are extremely entertaining and engaging though I have not been able to experience it first hand because there is no I know who has a GBA game link cable so I can't play anyone until I get one.
Bottom Line: Get this GBA game, it is worth every penny(unless its over priced of course!).

It's always been a tough call for me as to which Mario game is the best, 2 or 3. Well we can't have 3 just yet, but they've given us 2. Yes, it's more or less the same game, with greatly enhanced graphics and sounds (The players talk-that alone is worth the price). There are only subtle variations. But this is a game so great that there is no need to drastically improve it. I'm just so glad it fits in my pocket. If you're a mario lover (and you know you are), you've got to get this game.
Its good... but not enough

Mario Advance is basically a conversion of the Mario 2 game on the SNES Mario All Star collection, released in 1993/94.
However, Mario 2 on the SNES was also a conversion of the NES Mario 2 game released in 1988. So why did Nintendo choose to release it a third time?
Well, it seems that Nintendo didn't have enough time to make a completly brand new Mario title, and so they decided to release the aging Mario 2 onto the system.
However, its not a straight conversion. As Mario DX was on the GBC, Nintendo have added several extras into the game such as:
*Score
*5 Coins to collect per level
*Voices
*Scaled Enemys/Vegatables
*The "Pots" are now home to show of GBA special effects
*More Hearts
*Save Per Stage
*Yoshi Challenge
*4 Player Battle
And it also comes with "Mario Classic" which is the original Mario bros Arcade game.
The game does show of the new technology very well, but the problem with it is that:
A) Most of us has played at least one rendition of it before
B) Its considered the worst of the Mario series - it wasn't even a proper Mario game to start of with - It was originally "Doki Doki Panic" and Nintendo switched graphics over to make a Mario Game.
The new modes do add to the game, and it does seem harder than the older versions (mainly because the screen size is smaller).
You can also have 4 Player games using one cartridge which is pretty good value.
The major difference between this and the older versions is that Nintendo have added voices to the characters. Personally, I don't mind them but I must admit Toads voice is pretty bad.
Overall - if you have never played Mario 2 before - buy it. If you find Mario 2 great fun and would enjoy playing it again - buy it. But if you have played it already to death, the new features might not warrant your purchasing again.
Final Notes: Nintendo will be releasing Mario 3 and Mario World later this year. I would recommend waiting for either of these! But really Mario Advance, isnt as bad as a lot of people are saying it is.
Great classic revived, but...

I picked up the import of this game and am really enjoying it. Super Mario Bros 2 is an all time favorite of mine, and the GBA version is pretty good. Great graphics, excellent sound (lots of voices), and some nice additional touches. But this game really is just SMB2 with some very slight changes, and made slightly easier. I was under the impression this was going to be an all new Mario game based on the SMB2 engine. This marks the first release of a Nintendo system without a truly new Mario game. Which was disappointing.
But as long as you know this is just a slightly enhanced SMB2, you can't go wrong.
Super Mario Bros 2...in your pocket.

If your an old school gamer like me, and you owned the original NES then you probably remember the Super Mario Bros. sequel. Yes it was different, you could pick up vegetables and enemies and hurl them to defeat more enemies, but this was the most unique Mario Bros. game ever. New enemies, new tricks, you can play as either Mario, Luigi, Toad or Princess Toadstool(Peach) and face off against someone other thann Bowswer...Wart!! Great graphics and great gameplay makes this game a must have for you launch list.
Great new game to break into you Gameboy Advance. -Endit

If your looking for a game that is fun and updated, choose Super Mario Advance for Gameboy Advance.
Based on the original Super Mario Bros. 2, this game provides great side scrolling gameplay for almost anywheres-your bedroom, the car, a friends house, (ect) since it's totally portable! Even though it's an old game, it has been updated minorly and has new enemies, like Robirdo. It has VERY simple gameplay and is VERY easy to learn and master. Also: Good graphics and sound!
For gamers who didn't play any of the Nintendo or Super Nintendo games, this is a great way to see what the older games looked like with new school style.
What I don't like very much about this game is that it has not very many levels (I'm not saying don't buy it, it's still great).
so from what you can see, Super Mario Advance for Gameboy Advance is a great game with easy gameplay, great levels, and great updates! You should buy this, it's a 5 out of 5 stars/A++!

There have been a few negative reviews about this game, but i love it. I know its not the bets Mario game on the market, but what do you expect from one of the first titles to be released. The graphics are good and gameplay is above standard and thats good enough for me. I just hope that they bring more Mario games out on the GBA
Super Mario Advance is to advanced

I have played Super Mario Advance at an EBX store in a mall at a demo stand. From what I had played the game was great. I has the graphics of an SNES game or even better! Also the sound was good, playing the old fashion Mario music in the background. The control for the game was great, even though the shoulder buttons weren't used( I really wanted to try them out). After I was done playing I knew that I had to buy one, and so I pre-ordered one that very day. I hope that all of the other games that come out are this good! I'm really looking foward to Tony Hawk 2 also. Overall I think that Super Mario Advance is going to by a great game now and for the future. I would really recomend this game to anybody who is going to buy a Game Boy Advance.
