I dont recommend this game at all, the graphics are nice at first but get boring, the game flat out sucks, the only reason i even gave it two stars is because i know how long it takes to make a game, and i of 14 couldnt even figure the damnb this out, its confusing as hell, and i didnt even want to play it because nothing drew me to it.

If you're a fan of Spyro on the PS1, you may be disappointed with this one. Overall the game is good and represents the series, but the controls stink. Gliding is a pain in the neck and maneuvering during the races is frustrating to say the least. (Why in the world can't GBA put a control stick on their game?) The levels are too hard for the payoff. It'll last you a few days, and then you'll be wishing you'd plopped down your money on Mario or Golden Sun.

WORST GAME I HAVE PLAYED SO FAR.

This is the worst game of the year. The only reason that I gave it a two instead of a one is that the graphics are half way decent. This game is so bad that after I bought it and was playing it in the car I was so disapointed that I wanted to burn it. Its not even close to being like the playstations Spyros. Save your money and buy a better game like Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure, (it rocks!). Take my word for it and save your self the disapointment.

Spyro is just a little puny lizard against rhinos that are rainbow colors! That sounds............GREAT(sarcastic tone)!
I mean,Spyro was cool on Playstation. But it looks like PS let him in the hands of the enemy. If I was the man who made the game and played it, I would throw it on the ground and spit on it! I would hide my face in shame so that no one in Hong Kong would see what I had done. I cried at the end. Not that it was good. It made me cry because I wasted 24 hours of my life.

Good until...

This game is great overall until... U get to these raceways in every world, they are just to hard and take to long to beat, they get frustrating. But the grafics are amazing.

Annoying!

I have all the Spyro games for PS1 & PS2, and I LOVE them, so when I got my GBA I bought Season Of Ice right away....and was very annoyed. At first I thought it would be cool, because there are fairies and mermaids, but the controls are much more difficult on the GBA than the Playstations. I have trouble getting Spyro to go the direction I want him to, especially on diagonals. I think it's because you're using directional buttons instead of a joystick. I don't think it can be the fault of the button on my individual GBA, because I bought it brand new and this is one of the first games I've played on it. Anyway, I have trouble crossing bridges and just moving around in general; it makes it incredibly obnoxious, because every time you fall in water you die. I say, if you have a Game Cube and a Game Boy Player (so you can use a joystick) this could be a great game, but if you just have a GBA, don't bother, it's more frustrating than it's worth.

This game is a joke!

Listen, I'm a guy who has grown up on a sega Nomad (handheld genises) the best handheld ever, so this game's graphics may not get the review they deserve.

Graphics: pretty good if this system was 16 bit! my nomad (a handheld Genisus system) has graphics twice as good as this (see sonic 3D balst to see what I mean). the color 'aint that good. but its pretty beautiful for a gameboy title none the less.

game play: Game boy seems to have a history of boring, over priced, mediocre games, and i thought this wouldn't be one of them. I am a big Spyro fan (bigger sonic fan) and this game really disapointed me. the controls are very stressing to opperate in many parts of the game, and gameboy advances little arrow keys are very titious to use in this game. they make it very hard to get pin point acuracy in walking and moving objects, which is a very bad thing. Worst yet, the baddies that you find all over the place and are hard to beat in the playstations spyro games, are litterally scarce in these levels. You have to actually find the baddies, and to top the that, they don't even attack you some of the time! they just run off! And even worse, all levels seem to have simular goals: search fir and destroy enemies, and activate certain things like bells ore light houses. Not my idea of a fun game if you ask me. The only good thing about this game are the speed, in which you have to fly through a back view0 3d track simular to the star fox games, and complete it and defeat the boss in the time limit.

Lastability: If you can stand playing this game, it will last you a pretty long time! it has new things you can open up, and with 100 faries to find in the hard (and most of the time, boring and painful) levels that are in the game it may last you a bit.

conclusion: This game is a real disapointment. i was expecting more from a spyro game, like enemies that actually ATTACKED you. unless you are a hardcore spyro fan, get sonic advanced or super mario advanced 2.

P.s: I have recently read some of the more recent reviews since i last edited this, and I'd like to say a few things. The reason why this does not look like a playstation game is simple: the gameboy advanced is not much more powerful than a Super Nintendo. Although, some very impressive 3-d games from the video company Raylight, running on the Rainbow graphical engine (this takes every ounce of power out of the GBA). So we may see a really good Spyro game in a few years. Don't give up hope Spyro fans! But i alsp have some bad/good news. A sequel to this game is coming sometime during the holidays called Spyro, Season of Fire.

Great Game!

This is just not the type that makes a good Gameboy game. I found myself getting very frustrated because Spyro was hard to control. He moves in a diagonal path which makes him hard to maneuver. Many times I ended up falling off a cliff just because of his strange movements. I think the makers should have made his path straight so that you can actually see where he's going. Also, I didn't think the graphics were all that great.
