Could've been better

I love this game but the flaws are that there is only one boss, the game's too tough, no fairy checkpoints, no other breath attacks and has some of the PSX Spyro graphics like the Mystery Vase chase. This takes place on the Forgotten Worlds where you get to free crystallized fairies trapped in ice cubes by Grendor.

This game is going to be better. There's even a sequel to it. Spyro 5 : Enter the Dragonfly.

I've replayed this level way too many times!

I own every single game for Playstation 1 and 2, and this was a big disappointment for me. This game has deterred me from buying any other Spyro games for gameboy advance. I bought it for full price right when it came out, and I was appalled. Many other reviews hail it, but I disagree with them on most of their points.

The graphics were great for a gameboy game, but that's about it. The home land seems to be copy-and-paste landscape, everything way too similar. One level uses random lava puddles to hinder you, which becomes very annoying and monotonous. The levels take so long that I have to replay a certain level over and over, since I don't have time to sit forever and finish the level.

This game is directed towards children, but every kid who has played it that I know can't even complete one level, since if anything happens you immediately go back to the beginning of the level because there are no save points in each world. Plus, The worlds aren't even paths, something else that hinders. There are so many ways for Spyro to go, it is ridiculous.
This game is too hard for the young audience it is directed at, yet it is a bit childish for adults and teens. I regret that I bought it, since it is simply sitting in a gameboy game case, taking up space, sheltered from the thick layer of dust that would be coating it.

Great Game!

One of the Best Games I've played

I'm biased because I loved Spyro on the playstation too. This game is one of the reasons that I spend hours on my GBA even though the lighting makes it very difficult for me to see.

It has challenges without taking away from the "relaxation and entertainment" value that I really seek in a handheld game. I highly suggest this game for kids of all ages, the 5th graders love it as much as the senior citizens.

The developers of this game have a great combination ... I'm ready for another Spyro adventure even though I've got a few levels left to find in this one.

I also highly reccomend the official guide book and a light/maginifier for your GBA.

A great game

If you enjoyed the other three Spyro games for playstation, this game is for you. The game is more challenging then the other three due to the poor controls which was one of the only things wrong with it. In this game, you can't swim or do the flip thing which spyro "learned" in the second game. There is only three or four portals in each world, but other than that, the game is awesome. The graphics are outstanding with rich color. Its a good game overall.

A great GBA version of the lovable dragon

Spyro: Season of Ice brings the famous fire-breathing dragon to the Game Boy Advance. What a treat! He's got his moves down, and is rescuing fairies!

I'm a big fan of Spyro to begin with, and loved the first three Playstation versions (the fourth was made by a different company and was disappointing). I was hesitant to see how such a graphically-rich, fun game could be translated onto the small screen of the GBA.

I was quite impressed!! The graphics are really quite good, showing off what the GBA is capable of. You've got a little dragon racing around his world, barreling into vases, toasting little sheep, rescuing the fairies that have been frozen.

There are various worlds to work through, each with its own look. There are different challenges that you face in which you need to master all of your dragony skills, from flying to hovering to racing and more.

I did find that with the worlds being large and the screen view being small, that it was sort of hard to keep track of where you were in a world. I imagine, though, if they made the characters smaller so you could see more at a time that it would become hard to see. So that's a reasonable tradeoff to make.

Highly recommended for any Spyro fans who want a fun arcady game for their GBA!

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!!

As soon as I took this game out of the box I was frustrated. This game has no options and is impossible to beat. What fun is sitting around watching spyro kill a few enemies? Every other Game Boy Advance Game I own gets a five star rating but this one is crummy. If you think it is going to be like the playstation game guess again. This game is nothing like that and is more dissapointing than fun.

THIS YOU MUST GET!
I am writing this the day before the game comes out.It has awesome color and great 3-d graphics. It is about a librarian/sorceress that cast a spell for more power but there's a catch and that is that she gets 2 heads(bizzar huh?)each with a bad headache. She freezes all fairies in order to get the cure,100 fairy wings and sends her henchmen to get the wings.Spyro is sent a balloon and his vacation is yet again interupdet.Play as spyro use old and new moves and see old and new charecters. There are 25 levels and over 70,000 gems to collect.

horrible!

When my sister got this game and I played it, i soon found out that this is 100% the WORST Spyro ever. The graphics are reasonable, the ideas, characters and enemies are good, but the overall gameplay is out of the question. You die extremely easily and it's almost impossible to get every gem in a level. For example, if you miss one gem in a level you have to go all through it again, to every part just to find it. Plus, you can hardly see where you're going with the angle. The speedways are too easy and stupid, and you can easily misjudge the height of a platform you are going to jump to, then fall and die. Believe me, to buy this game is to buy a lame, frustration-inducing piece of junk.

It is a really challenging game and it keeps your interest with all of the exiting levels that I have played. I would recommend this game to anyone.
