Apart from all Blizzard games not many Mac games are released at the same time as PC games so at first when i saw this on amazon i thought it was a glitch but i guess it actully will get released the same time. another thing is if it is being released at the same time for Mac and PC then i think amazon got the date of release wrong because i read it PC Gamer (the doom 3 issue) that the game is going to be released in november of 2004! That would be sick(in a good way). And the STALKER franchise speaks for it self i hope it will be as good as the last.
P.S:im not 13 i just dont have a credit card
Sweet A must own Game.

I know that this gmae wont come out until next year but I got a chance to play it while I was in Scotland at the Interantional Games Festival. The game is sweet and the selection of guns is amazing. I got back to America hoping to be able to buy this game and was really hurt when I found out that it wasn't goign to be released until 2005!!! I will be buying this game and You should too. BTW...The Multiplayer is the best FPS multiplayer I have played to date.
Too many bugs!!

If you buy this game, you're gonna need a can of Raid to get rid of all the Bugs! . Wait another 6 months to a year from now when THQ finally gets around to developing a decent patch for this game. Save your money for now. Buy this game at your own risk!
Patch makes it better but still BUGGY!!! BAD for VISTA!!!!

Read some of the other bad reviews on the web and here. I WISH I HAD!!!!!
I played this game all the way through on XP and VISTA. For now, if you are running VISTA, without a patch specifically to fix the VISTA issues, you had best skip this game. Even on XP, it is a rough ride. At times, it did good and other times it drives you nuts!
It is buggy as hell. I tried running this on 3 different gaming computers that I have. All are top of the line, screaming machines. One runs twin 7950's in SLI mode. Another has just a simple 7600 GT. It runs ok if you turn the settings way down. YUCK!!! The graphics are not that good turned all the way up! lol
The latest patch has made a huge difference. Before that, this game ran like garbage. It crashed for no reason, saves got corrupted. Those problems still happen, not as much though.
The game play? Well, you only have one way to play the game....up close and personal until you get half of the way through. Then you get some decent weapons. If you don't shoot the head and if you don't do it close your enemy most likely will not die!!! Very ANNOYING after the first 10 times you do that!
The graphics are completely outdated. You can tell they have been working on this game for 5 years.
If anyone thinks this game is better than HL2, FEAR or Far Cry...you have got to stop doing drugs!!!!
Now, I will say that the concept is great and some of the ideas and obstacles in this game are great. STALKER will be seen as what could have been but didn't quite get there. Hopefully, this group will get to make a sequel and get it right.
A REAL REVIEW FOR THIS GAME

This game has been in production for the last 5 or 6 years and it shows on the graphics. While the graphics are a little dated the lighting effects show every shadow and who needs awsome graphics when you have the killer gameplay right.?
This game takes place in the near future when it is safe to return to CHernobyl (Nucular power site that had a melt down in 1987(Fact)) and you are a freelancer bringing back artaficts to sell to scintests or other "intrested "factions. The game is set-up as a FPS with the Elderscrolls RPG style missions you can talk to anyone, trade food for ammo or sell it to a hungry Merc for 200% profit Work with a faction for one mission then totaly stomp them out in the next mission. While I have not got to all the game features I am 10 Hrs in (game has only been out for a day) and I am still Trading shooting "zombies" Gathering artifacts and hunting other S.T.A.L.K.E.Rs. The only real downside is after 6 years in the oven and sevral push backs you you would think all the bugs (not able to finish side quests, or pick things up) would be fixed. That is why Gameplay is only 9 when they fix these errors It will become a 10
Graphics:7/10
Sound:8/10
Gameplay:9/10

Overall:8.6/10

6 years was not enough. I can't play this for more that 10 minutes because it likes to crash for no reason. For the amount of time this was in develpment, that kind of thing is unforgivable. The graphics and the environment are nice, but it's hard to enjoy them when the game can't be played. Plus the AI is dirt stupid. I put three bullets in a guy before he finally decided to turn and shoot at me. Shame on you THQ Shame on you. Next time, release a game when it's ready.
Wait for the patch!

Save your money on this game until the patch, as it will most likely be a doozy of a file!
The Good - Beautiful, immersive game (what I could make work), looks to be the FPS to give Half-Life a run for its money.
The BAD - Well let's see, since it won't restart from quick saves unless I go back to the very beginning and start over, I would say that qualifies!
Anyone considering buying this game, read and take heed of the negative reviews as they are primarily bug related, and WAIT until the company finishes the bloody thing and patches it properly, then read the user reviews to see if that works before you buy it.
$40 is not something most players of FPS games want to throw away on a game that chokes like a cat on a hairball. The developer worked on this beast for six years, they should have taken another six months before releasing it to make this game run properly.
My copy gets pitched on the shelf until its patched!
A few small problems keep this game from a perftect 10.

In MY book this is close to a perfect game. Fun marred by some minor annoyances. VERY immersive gameplay. If you liked Deus X, Half Life (1 and 2), Morrowind, Oblivion, Far Cry, you will love this game. Despite some reviews I have read, the game seems quite difficult. I am about six hours in to it and believe I am just getting started so I'm guessing gameplay will be 20+ hours. It took me several hours last night just to get used to the menus (read, in game PDA), and game opperation, but now I find myself strangely addicted. There is no Quicksave which I find annoying. It's about 50/50 shooter/rpg. I am constantly managing my inventory, which, personally, I think is really cool. This inventory management along with insanely smart AI, and realistic weapons physics will suck you right in. Graphically it is AWESOME, despite being last gen. and may be demanding for some machines. I have an AMD X2 4800, and Nvidia 7800GTX and I had to set the graphics back a smidg to get it to run smoothly on a 20" monitor. I had been waiting for this game for three years, aside from a few small problems I was not dissapointed. Besides, how else are you ever going to see Chernobyl?
Great game

I have had really a really positive experience so far with this game. It runs fine cranked all the way up. I am about 10 hours into it and looking forward to playing more. There are a few minor things that always plague any new game and I am sure they will be fixed in the first patch. If you are having a problem running this game, get more computer.

I have been looking forward to playing this game for a long time with great expectation.I rushed out and bought it,loaded it on my pc and got ready for a great gameing experiance.Boy what a disapointment!
The graphics are about 10 years outdated.I have a very good gaming pc so i know it is not my pc.FAR CRY looks great on it.Even in the day cycle the graphics are dim and fuzzy. At night even with the flashlight on its so dark all i can see is the muzzel flashes while they are killing me.To me graphics make or break a game and i hate to think i spent this much on a pc for good graphics and these look this bad.Now i know why they didnt come out with a demo first.Boiling Point was a much better game than this one after they came out with a patch for all the bugs. There are no vehicles to drive or fly.You cant trade for any good weapons so why trade just take what you can from dead people. The only way i could get a machinegun was to kill a whole group of soldiers with that lousy pistol,a shotgun that will only kill if its almost touching the person and 1 grenade ( the best weapon in the game ).This game might have been top notch if they had came out with it when they first planned. Now it has been out done by so many other games it seems dated and behind times. Its only saving grace is that most of the recent games are pretty bad to.
