It's one of the best PC games ever!! It is true that it somtimes won't work on some computers. I'm lucky because mine worked and I get to enjoy this addicting and beautiful game. I love the coaster cam and all the new types of rides, attractions, and coasters. The graphics are amazing!! You can even create your own people (or peeps). This is the best investment I've made in a long time. The sandbox option is sweet because I can create coasters w/o limits of money! Although Fireworks can be confusing, the tutorials really help. You haven't lived until you've tried this game!I could play this game for days! BUY IT NOW!!!!!!!
Great game! But it has it's flaws

My first impression is wow, quite a big difference from RCT2. The 3d graphics are nice but it runs slow on my machine with a 3.6 GHz Pentium 4, with 1GB Ram and FX5800 Ultra video card (Yes I have the newest drivers installed and Dual DDR 400 Ram). Game play is great and it's easy to spend quite a few hours before you know it. The interface in my opinion could use some work, it's filled with more options and things to play with. But it seems cluttered and a pain sometimes to get things done. I let my little brother play with it and it doesn't take much time to learn how to play. He also complained about the interface, but I had to use a crowbar to get him off of the computer after a few hours of playing. Great game!
Great game, too complex at times.

This would be a great game in my opinion, but it does have some flaws. It gives you great control over what you do in all aspects, especially money, but sometimes too much so. Some of the time I wish it would just do something for you instead of letting you design it and worry about the cost of each little thing, like fireworks for example. Otherwise, the game is great and has major improvements. The graphics and pictures are interesting and keep your attention glued with excitment, you could actually train all of your employees and see if they are slacking off and then fire them if you feel they can't be improved. Other features are major features such as the famous coaster cam which unless you have a very fast computer (over pentium 4 and average amounts of ram) it works slow since it has to load all the activity around the ride. All in all however, this game kept me addicted for a while and you would probably like it if you have been enjoying the previous games in this series.

This game is real fun and addictive, but the glitches are a pain in your ass. First of all i can't even save my game. Everytime i tried to the game stops then takes me back to the desktop. The peeps in this game are real stupid. I swear i had a marrygoround right beside a rollercoaster. THe peeps choose the merrygoround more than the rollercoater. In real life who would do that. Also They stand in groups and do nothing for days. The rides malfuction to Say a rollercaoster train comes back to the staion, the ticketlady will not let the people on the ride too boared the train. I wayched for about tenmins to see if she would let them on. No she just sat there and peeps started getting board and left. So i ha d to close the ride and reopen to start working again. Well this game would be perfect if eit wasn't for the bugs. Hopefully atari will fix this and RCT 4 will change the series.

I bought this item for my son who is 13 years old. I am very pleased with this product. Not only has he spent hours enjoying himself, but he is learning common sense business practices. He has to calculate how he spends his available funds and how long before he sees a return on each ride. He also enjoys riding the coaster through virtual imagery. I was impressed that this game is so involved. I highly recommend it for kids of all ages.

Ahh, the roller coaster loving kid inside us all wet his pants at the release of the newest Roller Coaster Tycoon title. This time the familiar looking coasters, rides, and interface returns in three dimensions for the first time. This really is the first startling step forward in the series, the first two versions of the game took small steps but look and played mostly the same. The thrills of a fully interactive 3d world greatly out runs the first games in the series. The scenery is lush and extremely customizable, the rides are as invigorating as ever, and the 'coaster cam' interface is a dream come true for many dedicated fans of the series.
When the game initally was released I was heartbroken to find that there were loads of glitches, frustrating controls, and generally unhappy guests. Ride exitement ratings changes back and forth dramatically, guests complained because it was too hot outside, and some of the goals were just downright challenging. However, a few updates shortly after the release healed nearly all of the initial problems with the disc. I can assure you that many people who experienced these and wrote in frustrated have since been assuaged.
The new features are many, but the goals to defeating each scenario are still about the same as the original series. Achieve park ratings, guest counts, ride ticket income, and the like. Although there is the new VIP list who you must satisfy in order to achieve tycoon status. One of the most pleasurable features is the sandbox mode that was lacking from previous titles. Take infinite money, giant space, and every attraction and build to your hearts content. This feature is very satisfying since it doesn't need to be earned or unlocked, it is ready as soon as you are.
Overall the game just LOOKS great. The mountains and terrain are much smoother and more realistic. You can tell by the premade scenarios that the possibilities are endless. The scenery comes in all shapes and sizes and can build the biggest castles as well as add a little flavor to that uninteresting scrambler ride. In that vein, there are several 'themed' thrill and gentle rides that fit right into the scenery for an extensively cohesive look.
Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 looks and plays great. It is a great playground to unleash creativity for hours upon hours. After the inital kinks were worked out, the title lived up to my initial expectations without a doubt. Some of the levels may be a little too elementary for the veteran player, but most of this is made up for by the fact that you can use your abilities as leverage to make the most awe inspiring amusement parks yet. Besides the occasional easy level, there is not much to complain about Roller Coaster Tycoon 3.

I have been a huge RCT fan for years simply because I love the strategy type games like RCT, Sim City, Zoo Tycoon, etc...So here's what I thought of this incredible game.
First off, one would think that building a theme park would have limitations. In the case of RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, you simply could not be more wrong.Think of this game as somewhere along the lines of Civilization, but cute like Mario, however You must be logical, like a game of Myst.
Also the 3-D graphics are a treat, I know that this has been done before in Sim Theme Park, but RCT3 completely puts that to shame, you truely will be quite surprised of how enjoyable it really is to see your creation in action at a close up perspective and to see the look on your patrons faces as they ride your wildest of coasters.
RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 has a lil' something for everyone in the family. For the freak in you, go ahead and "forget" to put brakes on a coaster and watch as it rolls into madness, scaring the bejesus out of the riders, or you can always let your imagination go and build the largest and best theme park of your wildest dreams. Of course if you are feeling wily you could always go ahead and be a mean mean person and pop some little childrens balloon just so you can laugh at them as the weep and beg their parents for another! The management of the theme park can be a job of its own if you like, as one can go as deep as they want into micromanagement and run the park like a real life employee or owner would at a Six Flags.
This game is so much fun that I feel everyone who likes strategy-simulation games like myself will certainly get endless hours of enjoyment out of it.
Great if you love building and riding rides

This game is very awsome for anyone who loves designing their own roller coasters and riding them. One thing I have to say on the rating of this game is that is really is not for everyone. Because of the depth of designing and learning all the icons on this game, it should be for Teens and up. No 6 year old could know how to play this game right away. One downside I have to say about this game is if you don't have at least a Pentium 3 processor and a good graphics card then the game will not function right. I had to buy a graphics card to make all of the images show correctly. If you get a graphics card for this game, get an ATI Radeon card thats at least 64megabytes. If your processor is below a Pentium three then the game will take longer to load especially saved games. Also when riding the rides the images are delayed according to the sound. But overall, if you have the system requirements then this game is one to have!!!!
A great game for the right computer

The game RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 is a good one but just make sure that when you get it you have the right system requirements. I bought the game and could play it for a little bit and for that time it was the best game I had ever played. I would recommend this game to anyone who has the right system requirements. For the time that I got to play this game I would rate it with two thumbs up.
More Frustrating than Fun

I loved the first two Roller Coasters and couldn't wait for this one. I haven't stopped trying to play yet, but I am very close. I'm hoping that as I get used to the new version, I might start having fun with it.
The first two were addictive--hours could pass while you played. But, this one, I'm quitting after about twenty minutes because I just can't take it anymore.
It took me forever to figure out how to move, I had to exit to the tutorial, which I never had to use on the other games. Everything you build (paths, scenery, rides) takes twice as long because the interface is much more complicated. I can't figure out how to turn the viewpoint around when building things, because you have to use the mouse to turn around and I end up putting scenery and paths where I don't want them. If there's a place to see all the guests thoughts at once, I can't find it, and that was a really useful feature in the other games. And if someone can explain to me how a DRINK STAND can keep breaking down (and how to keep it from happening).....
I've completed a whole scenerio and don't even know how I did it, since I spent most of the time trying to figure out how to do eveyrthing. The icons are too small and off to the side instead of on the top like in the older versions, and it's not obvious what they each stand for, so that I end up clicking at least five icons before I find the one I want. I also keep losing my saved games.
Everytime I've tried to play this game, I've had to keep the booklet in front of me. This is supposed to be relaxing and fun, but it feels more like work. Save your money and play the older versions. The makers spent more time trying to make cool, new features that they seem to have forgotten what made the old games so much fun.
