I have been looking forward to this game. I love RCT2 (never played the first one) and when the expansions came out for RCT2, I immediately bought it, but it was kind of a dissapointment, same with the second expansion. I wanted something in this game that never was put in until RCT3 and that is a mode that lets you "ride" your coasters. That's all I really wanted out of this game. And now it is finally here. I am so excited, with all the new improvements like coastercam, fireworks shows, night and day modes, guests interact individually and in groups (also there are children and adults), and tons more. Also, all new 3D graphics, should be 1,000 times better than the first one. I can't wait till November (if it comes out then) and get this game.

The Greatest Game Ever. Period.

I am not going to make you read a VERY long review, so I will keep it breif. This game rocks. They just released a patch that fixes all the bugs in the gameplay in now it is as smooth running as ANY game on the market. This game is the same as RCT2 but with one MAJOR differing factor. 3d! Cmon people! THAT ROCKS! I payed $45.99 for it on opening day, and I dont regret a single penny of that being spent. This game rocks (worked FINE on my system... about 7-8 months, but with many imperfections, old) and you need it.

I went against some of the bad reviews online and purchused the game anyway. No matter what type of computer you hame this game is not very good. The menu is very annoying (quite different than 1 & 2) along with calling all the guests peeps. I wouldn't waste your money on a game that is not very user friendly. The original and the 2nd one a a whole lot bettter a lot cheaper.

Main Reasons Not To Buy RCT3

-not user friendly (menu and all of game play)
-bad graphics
-$$$$ expensive

Great.... but not perfect

1. One of the scenarios kept saying peeps couldn't get to the rides when they COULD

2. If you keep your park alone, peeps will hate it (Ex. park is messy, staff is lazy, rides break down)

The good things are...

1. You can MAKE a scenario.
2. Sandbox Mode is awesome.
3. When peeps are bad you can make them drown.

Weird things are...

1. Staff can quit without being fired
2. The peeps say "Ouch, that smarts!"
3. Shops break down
4. Peeps can escape from holes without water
5. Staff can say "Wish I'd brought my brolly!" if it's raining

Disappointing after amazing Roller Coaster Tycoon Games

I got it with a gift card. I thought that it would be good to play because I love the first one, the expansion packs, and Roller Coaster Tycoon 2. It just isn't good. For like $30(I think I got it for more at Best Buy), it's a waste of money. The graphics are nothing compared to the first 2 games(and their expansion packs).

All of the fun is out of RCT!

Having loved the first one, when I bought the new one, Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, I thought it was the hardest game ever made. I mean, I'm sure it would be a great game if you knew what to do and how to play it, but I don't even know where I can "Ride my own rides". Also, NO MORE 2-D ANIMATION! I know it looks cool to some people, but now it just looks like one of those boring Gamecube games and stuff. It's just not fun anymore. It dosn't have the merry-go-round music anymore, the "Peeps" don't look nice anymore but they now look like gangsters! Also, if you want to master this game, you got to go out and buy a 20 buck book that tells you how to play it because the little booklet they give you in the CD-rom itself is just cr*p! I don't even understand what they say in the 20 buck book neither so I have ended up paying close to 60 dollars [Yes, all of my allowance =(
] and I don't even know how to play this!

If you are one of those hardcore gamers that loves 3-D animation, "phat" MP3 music instead of carnival music, and "sweet" gaming, this game is without a doubt reccomended for you. But if you are true to the other Roller Coaster Tycoon games, this game will be nothing but a dissapointment. If you are totally new to all of this, I'd reccomend Sim theme park. But after that, I can't really tell ya what to do. I think it would be smart if you are interested in buying this game to go to the Rolller coaster tycoon website and to download their free trial of this game. But you are not going to like it, let me tell ya.

So it all comes together that this game is just not fun and is a waist of money. So, I say do not buy but maybe because of the new expansion pack that is coming out this summer...

I've played the demo level, and despite some MAJOR graphical glitches, it was amazingly fun, and increadibly well layed-out, the engin is wonderful, and now you can go and ride the coasters you've built instead of just watching it from above. RCT3 has everything in the first two games, plus 3D graphics (of course), a million new features, a [rear-end]-load of new roller coaseter types and a new and improved GUI.

Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 was good, but it wasn't nearly as good as the last version. The graphics aren't very good. Sometimes you could see somebody walking through somebody, or still being upside down after falling, even if they're on the ground.There are actually girls and adults in this version, and you can zoom in very far, but the graphics for the people close up look very angular, but it is funny to see the way they swim in water.
Overall, the staff in this game are good, except for this really enoying guy named the park inspector who keeps telling you stuff you already know. The most enoying thing about him though, is that you CAN'T FIRE HIM. Another problem with the staff is that they can become suddenly sad for no reason.
In this game, there are 4 themes that the rides/stalls/scenery fall under, generic (non-themed), spooky,sci-fi, and adventure. These themes are usually really helpful, or really enoying. They can be helpful when you are making a park under a certain theme, but they can be enoying when you are trying to make a generic park, and there is a ride you want, but it is under a different theme.
The features in this game are okay. The Coastercam is awesome. Me and my brother had always, in the previous Rollercoaster Tycoon games, wanted this feature. The scenario editor is okay, but it's funny cause you can make someones reward for getting 7,000 guests a lollipop! You can also post somebody's thoughts on the message board. Also the Peep desighner is pretty cool, because you can actually make some people.It does get kind of enoying when the computer calls your guests "peeps".As a reminder, if your planning to make your guests fall hundreds of feet by deleting the raised path below their feet, be sure your volume is low!

P.S. Click repeatedly on a child's belly to tickle them

I am ahuge fan of Rollercozster Tycoon. I had all the expansion packs for Rct and rct 2. IT is a great game. When I played Rollercoaster tycoon 3, I was a bit disappointed. The format is completely different from 1 and 2, making previous experience essentially useless. The 3-d graphics, well, they're good but I don't think they're outstanding. They made the gane completely different, and took away the "charm" from 1 an 2. My suggestion is get ROllercoaster Tycoon 2 triple thrill pack. It costs less, and uses much less room in your computer.

Fun, But It Will Overextend Your Computer Eventually

I like this game quite a bit, but my impression is that no matter how powerful your PC, this game will eventually overextend its abilities, at least in Sandbox mode (where you build your own park just for fun, as large and quickly as you please). The software tracks everything happening in the park at once, regardless of what part you are looking at on the screen, and if you load the park up with trees (blowing leaves require processing power), water (reflections add to processing burden), hundreds of peeps, etc., you will eventually overdo it. So don't try to fill the Sandbox mode park area. Play with a portion of it, then move on to the game.
