Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 was a total let-down for me, since it was essentially the same game as the first RCT. But this game is redone with a completely new game engine.
Looking Forward to:
Better Graphics-- The screenshots and videos of the game are stunning. The people and some rides have the same old cartoonish look, but the environment is very realistic.
Better AI-- Finally the people act as a group as well as an individual. I was tired of watching my little guests walk around by themselves in the first two games. Since when does everybody go to an amusement park completely by themself?
Fireworks-- This may be an interesting thing to play around with, but doesn't look like it will add much to the game.
More content-- Simply by watching the videos, you can see all the extra stuff you can place in your park, and there is sure to be a lot more.
In the end, this is yet another game I am adding to my must-have list for the end of the year.

RCT3 has been a very enjoybale purchase for me. To begin, the graphics are gorgeous. The developers have paid attention to details and really excelled at the 3D mapping, shadowing, and light effects. In particular, the transition between daytime and nighttime is a joy to watch. Following that transition the fireworks show lights up the night sky.
The new Coaster Cam feature allows you to ride ALL the rides in your park. So once I completed one of my crazy coasters I get to ride on it and experience all the loops and spins like I was actually there.
In terms of gameplay, RCT3 has a tutorial that teaches you all the basics so that you can get up constructing your parks as soon as possible. After a short time experimenting, taking an idea for a coaster from your head to the game becomes quite smooth. There is also options of placing food stands, bathrooms, drinking stations, the whole works. And each has a deeper level of customization to make everything feel personal.
Overall, I love playing this game and think that anyone experienced or unexperienced would enjoy the game.
**Game of the Year** -- Plain and Simple!

The demo is amazing, in fact beyond amazing. Some people have outdated hardware or video cards, so they're not seeing the full picture. RCT fans, who can't seem to let the previous series go, should stay there and bring something to clean the cobs web with on a regular basis. This new version brings the series to an unimaginable level. Comparing RCT3 to the previous versions is like comparing a Mercedes Benz to a kids tricycle. Once you become accustomed to the interface, and explore all the options, you won't believe how much amazing features this game offers. If you can't handle the new interface, plain and simple, you're pretty much pathetic, and deserve to play with 10 year old technology. I've had the demo for a week, and I've been playing it more then full versions of other popular games, including Doom 3 and the demo has like 95% of the features disabled. If you have a fairly powerful machine -- don't hesitate to pick up what's probably going to be the best PC release this year. Keep your Half Life 2, this will be on my hard drive long after all the others are deleted.
Thank you Frontier/Atari for finally bringing this series OUT OF THE DARK AGES.
Can't think of a title for this one

I have been looking forward to this game. I love RCT2 (never played the first one) and when the expansions came out for RCT2, I immediately bought it, but it was kind of a dissapointment, same with the second expansion. I wanted something in this game that never was put in until RCT3 and that is a mode that lets you "ride" your coasters. That's all I really wanted out of this game. And now it is finally here. I am so excited, with all the new improvements like coastercam, fireworks shows, night and day modes, guests interact individually and in groups (also there are children and adults), and tons more. Also, all new 3D graphics, should be 1,000 times better than the first one. I can't wait till November (if it comes out then) and get this game.
Pre-ordering with amazon is a waste of time!

Ships within 24 hours? Really?! My order was placed on August 17, the game is now available, and they say it'll ship around November 2nd. Go buy it in a store, you'll get it faster for the same price. Never buy from amazon again!!
Will make converts of non-gamers

I'm not a big computer game fan. The only immersive game I've ever owned was an old copy of the arcade favorite "House of the Dead" that I got on clearance for $5. It was a blast, but had to be retired when an operating system upgrade rendered it obsolete.
I have Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 and 2, and I have enjoyed them immensely. They appeal to my creativity. RCT3, however, WILL COMPLETELY BLOW YOU AWAY! The graphics are simply astonishing. I particularly enjoy sandbox mode, whereby you simply build stuff and ride it without worrying about the game rules. It's a great way to kill a few hours and expend some mental energy. If you're a doodler, you'll love building attractions and then getting to ride them via the Coaster Cam. It's also fun to build attractive tableaus and simply glide through them with the camera, checking out the stunning visuals. One caution: Read the minimum system requirements and heed them. Slower systems will play a simplified version of the game, but to get the really awesome visuals you'll need a robust graphics card and a good processor. Highly recommended!
This is a Really fun game.

I played roller coaster tycoon 1 with and without both of its add-on packs. I must say i was addicted to that game more than any othe rgame in my life. If you know the seriesm you will feel very comfortable playing Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. There are no negative differences between this new one and the old ones. All that was done to the game was positive. The feel of the game resembles the previous versions but the layout is a little different. Some cool new features include the much anticipated coaster cam, which is pretty astonishing, especially with people on board( the reactions are humurous at the least), there is also an addition of nighttime and fireworks. The fireworks are incredible and with the custom design, a sichronized, elaborate firework display playing next to one of yur favortie songs is possible. The most impressive quality of the game is the sheer leap in graphical eye candy from its predocessors. Atari did a great job in making everything look great.
Each person in the game has his or her own personailty and with his or her own clothing. An exciting addition to the people is , there are various sizes of them ; children teenagers tall short people, it really is overwhelming.
The career mode is fun and includes a very free waqy to achieve awards. Instead of the time based awarding system , atari introduces us with a neat way to just go at your own pace by having set criteria to work your way up to. You really dont have to if yu dont want to or dont want to unlock new scenarios. I personalyl like this stressless method of gaming.
there is also a sandbox mode, one mode i never got to play with in the first rct. There is even more freedom here. The abil;ity to do whatever you want, bulild whatever you want without any restrictions on type or money. Very fun and ots of room for creativity.
The game is relaxing and is a beautiful demonstration of A game developer's maturity into this generation of games. This title will definitely be played to death in my home. So if u loved roller coastert tycoon 1 or 2 then pick this up and relive the adventures of those two in 3d. If youve never ever played this sort of game, and are interested in some sort of creative fun game, id still advise you to pick this one up, It is well worth it. Have fun building.
The Greatest Game Ever. Period.

I am not going to make you read a VERY long review, so I will keep it breif. This game rocks. They just released a patch that fixes all the bugs in the gameplay in now it is as smooth running as ANY game on the market. This game is the same as RCT2 but with one MAJOR differing factor. 3d! Cmon people! THAT ROCKS! I payed $45.99 for it on opening day, and I dont regret a single penny of that being spent. This game rocks (worked FINE on my system... about 7-8 months, but with many imperfections, old) and you need it.
Far supreior than the previous titles.......

Dispite what some of the reviewers are saying this lot of fun. Dont listen to them for they are clueless. Yes you do need a strong computer to run this-hence you should read the system requirements before getting this title. But There is plenty of options and lots to do. From the challenging career mode to the sandbox mode where you can create and run your own park with out any limitations and make fireworks this is a radical improvement from the other RCT titles. This even lets you import your coasters from the pervious RTC titles and ride them on this. This is a more complex title than the other versions but it is really not as difficult as people would make you think it is, infact once you learn the controls it is a fairly easy to use and make rides. The graphics are far superior than the previous RCT Titles and so is everything else for that matter. Yes the career mode is challenging but one would expect it to be- i dont know why the other reviewers were complaining because this is supposed to be challenging-maybe they are just plain lazy - but then again thats what the sand box mode is for. If you are a fan of the RCT by all means get this game you will love it and you wont be dissappointed.
November's here - and I'm Still Waiting

WARNING! If you do not have a "Direct X 9.0c" compatible video card, this game will not run! The company (after an install!) recommends ATI Radeon and =some= GeForce cards. If you do not live up to THEIR standards of what you need to run this game it will not run. Period.
Although I advance ordered this one - my suggestion to the general buying public is to wait for the inevitable add-on disc or two. They will probably (but may not!) contain all the bug fixes that this product seems to have. I've tried my disc on several machines here at my home and my shop - I'm a computer tech. I have not got ANY of them to run this game correctly yet. I've deinstalled them all. Bug fixes are meant to be repaired BEFORE a product reaches my home or shop. Atari isn't paying me or you to be a beta tester. I can see customers bringing me their computers now...
My first suggestion if you're thinking of RCT3 for a Christmas present - go back and order the "RCT2 Triple Thrills" pack. Please. You won't be disappointed.
My second suggestion, if you MUST have RCT3, then make =sure= your computer is up to RCT3's recommended (NOT the "required") standards - or better.
My final suggestion is to wait until at =least= the RCT3 add-on disc(s). Perhaps then we will get a game I can run well enough on my machines to review correctly.
I know I'll probably still be playing RCT2 for the foreseeable future.
