When other sites gave me the runaround, Amazon came through

This was a X-mas present for my 24 year old son and I had a tough time finding it. I was unable to locate it anywhere for a reasonable price with a guaranteed pre X-mas eve arrival date (this included the MTV site!!), so I checked back with Amazon who had been out of stock. The Amazon price was within pennies of MTV's. Plus, even with the additional $15 cost for expedited delivery, it was still cheaper than other sites and Amazon had it here the next day, just as promised.

My son was/is thrilled and I've heard nothing but praise for the game itself. I'm was a happy camper.

Awesome

I got this after playing with it for an entire weekend at a vacation house. We played on the PS2 and we have the XBox 360 so I was afraid it was going to be different but it's exactly the same.

This game is so much fun! I was nervous about spending the $169.99 but I really think it's worth it, especially since you can have friends over and play all together. Great party game.

All the songs are awesome, and I'm psyched that on the 360 Live you can download new songs, I just have to set up our 360 Live to do it.

I play mostly the guitar, but the drums are really fun and singing's obvoiusly fun too, kind of like kareoke!

Tons of fun, some of the issues

As a guitar hero addict, I was looking forward to Rock Band. It did not disappoint.

A couple of pointers and thoughts:

1. People think the mic doesn't work - but you have to turn on the regular XBOX controller. If the mic is plugged in and you actually turn on the XBOX coontroller pad, you should have no issues. You use the controller with the buttons to make the selections for the mic, since it doesn't have buttons of its own.

2. Some people will not like the rock band guitar over the guitar hero guitar. GHII's guitar is more "clicky" with stronger feedback. I like that more, as do the people I play rock band with. We fight over who get to use the GHII guitar and who has to use the rock band guitar. I guess this just takes getting used to or its personal preference.

Beyond that, the game is just awesome. Love it - great for parties. Love that you can set people on different levels. Enjoy! Totally worth the money. With GHII, everyone was always waiting for their turn - no fun. Rock band is less than twice the price, but at least 3 people can play at once (the mic tends to be the least popular - everyone wants drums or guitar, but the two drums and the guitar are great).

Also, just to answer some people who don't know how the mic works. You don't have to get the words right, you just have to vary your pitch along with the pitch changes. Also, there are "singing" parts that involve tapping the mic. Just so you know.

Have a great time!

This game surpasses GH2&3 for overall group fun. My friends and family spend more hours playing this game than any other for xbox360.

PROS: quality instraments, variety, cooperative play, cool songs, excellent graphics for this style game,

CONS: leader of band must always play, disc has a circular scratch on it that locks up game at times,

I would certainly recommend this game.

Rock Band Does it stand up to all the hype? Yes it does...

It was everything my son expected. What I like is the game allows for multi player(family) involvement. Our four children range in age from 13-25 and they can all jam together! Rock Band Special Edition

Imagine the fun of karaoke, guitar heroes and drums in 1 box! This game is extremely fun I get on XboxLive and play with my family in other states. The guitar parts are not as difficult as Guitar Heroes but the drums really take the game to the next level.

Very nice song selection, also great animations in the background as you play. The ability to create characters is perfect too :)

This game is fun. One thing that I was disappointed about is that the rock band guitar has a defect, where the strumming down does not work properly. However, the retailers did replace the guitar. Overall, I am very satisfied with this product and recommend it. It is a good game for everybody.

Rockband is easily one of the best rhythm style games ever to come our way. Fun solo but that is only the start. Getting a group of friends together or the whole family together to play through in band mode makes this easily one of the best games ever. Simply put, if you are looking for a great deal of fun for yourself, friends and the kids then you can not go wrong with Rockband.

Good but not great

First up this game is a lot of fun. You do not have to have any singing ability at all to do well at the vocals. The drums require some talent even on the easy level. You can get pretty good with the bass and guitar with practice. The only thing I dilike is that you must progress to medium and hard level to unlock songs and events. Both of those levels require practice and I cannot spend all day playing RockBand. You should be able to play the whole game on easy like every other game ever invented.
