Good Game...

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 1 / 2

This game is excellent. The plot is wonderful and intriguing and the gameplay itself can be difficult. If one of your units dies in battle, it is gone forever, so you need to be aware of everyone at the same time. Also, if any lords (Lyn, Eliwood, Hector) die, you must restart the chapter, any others who are killed are lost forever. You can also turn the enemy against its own side and join your battle by talking with them. The only reason why I gave this game 4 stars is that there is a lot of talking that doesn't really add to the game play that can become annoying.

This game is awsome

This game is addictive. when u start, u just want to keep on playing...anyways, this is one of the coolest GBA games ive played b4. if you like MEDIEVAL then u will definitly like this game. heres some advice...i no its hard, but try to keep the levels of your characters balanced.what happens to me sometimes is that i use my best character, and he/she gets higher and higher levels, while all the others levels stay down. /Two of my fav. characters is Rath and Hector. did i spell them right?

Fun but sometimes frusturating

Fire Emblem is a really good game. REALLY good. If you like strategy games and gripping storylines, this game is for you. This is one of the best games i have played on the GBA, and it would be the best if it weren't for two flaws. You don't get lost characters back, and it is impossible to get every character in the first place. The second flaw is not that important because you are in almost complete control over which characters you want to get, but you have to get another, or sometimes a series of characters to do so. The bigger flaw, in my opinion, is the fact that when someone dies, they are gone. Dead. You can get them back in the next characters story, which there are three of, which i will get to later. Most other games usually don't like to kill they're own creations like that, and the only way to fix it is to reset the level you are on when someone dies, which can get very monotonous. If a "Lord" character dies, you have no choice on whether you want to reset or not, you have to. But this problem is easily overlooked. Now on to the story. There are three main characters: Lyn, a plainswoman, Eliwood, prince of Pherae, and Hector, the marquess of Ostia's brother, as well as Eliwood's childhood friend. Once you get through Lyn's story once, you go to Eliwood's story, and after eliwood's story, you have a choice to go directly to Hector's tale, which intersects with eliwood's missions, or complete Lyn's tale again, then go to Hector's tale instead.
The graphics are very acceptable, but would be much better if the cutscenes were fully animated, not just a moving mouth and a still backround. the music, on the otherhand, is topnotch with only a few duds in 98 songs. and if you don't like any of the music, you can turn it off. Or, you can listen to it in the Music Gallery. You can also unlock character conversations, which is pointless. another option is to test your characters in battle mode, which pits your characters against your friends, or the computers using your characters. just stick to the main story, and you'll be much more satisfied. Fire Emblem is like a DVD. You buy it, play it, and for the most part, the extras suck.
Still easily worth the 30-35 dollar price of admission though.

I played this game and WOW

Man, time really does fly when you get into this game. I have never in my entire life play agame as long, hard, and most strategy. but i really gotta say this: it really gets frusterating to the point where one of your guys die.it really sux. So what i do, if one of my characters die, i restert the chapter over, because i really like lil' minions.

Gameplay (8/10)
I CANNOT put this down. I also cannot tell a lie. It's so addictive and you just really wanna know whats gonna happen next.
But there's just lil' flaw, its sooo HARD! and i hate the fact that archers cant count attack close up ( My Wil archer keeps on dying that way) but either way, i also liked the magic stuff, like how yo can use archers and mages and stuff like hand axes over walls,( i especially loved the longbow, 2x's the distance!)
Storyline(9/10)
It was a cool storyline, but i would've gave it a perfect 10 if humans were just fighting dragons ever since. Cuz it was messed up how they could talk which that i don't like.
Graphics(7/10)
Ok so what if there was no cg scenes of stuff like that, but there are pictures that sorta resemble them, and when your fighting in a battle, your guys sorta look like midgets ( at first i thought i was funny) but then i realized since it was created back then 1st, it didnt have the greatest graphics, but it's still a great game nonetheless.
Replay value(10/10)
even though this isnt how i should be scoring it, ill explain why. I restarted so many chapters over the guys that have died in combat. and if you beat the game, you'll probably play it again to see what characters you missed ( trust me, you will miss ALOT)
So get this game, even though you have to go through all the frusteration, it's NOT a waste of money.

Awesome......(and no...i'm not a kid)

This game is the best. The only worst part is the ending as you finish this quest in Fire Emblem 6 (Japanese Only at the moment)As most reviewers would have told you the game's weapons systems is based on rock-paper-scissors (sword-axe-lance)and magic (light-dark- anima (element/nature). Your role as a tactcian makes this game much more realistic than say FE8: Sacred Stone (you're basically god in that game)and also the fact that once a character dies, they're dead FOREVER. Much like real life. The game's saving after every move is always helpful as you never know when you have to leave without finishing the chapter. It's easy to be attached to the characters (i feel sorry for Erk and Matthew under Serra's constant chattering)Promotinon items with only a few of them, not enough to promote everybody, makes you carefully think who you want to promote and make them stronger. All in all this game is awesome, if you want a good challenge, an addicting game that puts you into one-more-turn mode then buy this game.

This is one of the best games I've ever played, I can't find any flaws. The one thing I've been wondering about though is "Should it be rated E?"t is kind of violent and I think nintendo should have considered a T rating.
