The absolute worst Dreamcast game I have ever played. I would not even take this game if it was given to me for free.

It's Finally here!

Well I know most won't believe it but Rainbow 6 for Dreamcast is actually on the store shelves! I bought it about 20 minutes ago and so far it's pretty good but I haven't gotten too far into the game.

Best game out right now for Dreamcast

Finally this game has been released. I had not played Rainbow Six for any other platform but had heard it was an awesome game and even better than GoldenEye for N64. So I rented it for 64 and loved every bit of it. I can say the same for the Dreamcast version, with the graphics being the main difference between the two. I just finished the game and next to Metal Gear Solid for Playstation it is the best game I've ever played. The environments that you're put in are realistic where there isn't 30 terrorists in one small spot. Don't get me wrong there are plenty of enemies but they are much smarter and more dangerous because you might be peeking around a corner like on other games and all of the sudden you hear a shot and you're dead because one shot can kill. That sort of realism is what makes Rainbow Six such a great game. The planning phase can be fun too because you must strategize and tell you're guys where to go and give go-codes and give the teams assignments. Overall, this is easily the best and most fun Dreamcast game out right now. I definitely recommend it.

DON'T BUY THIS GAME!

All I can say is after waiting eight months for the game to come out, it's only single player. Online play would be great, but I was expecting 4 player if not at least 2 player split-screen support. Hopefully Rogue Spear will fix the problems. (it's a better game anyway)

Back in the 1900's...a popular PC game called rainbow 6 wasscheduled for a dreamcast release. Boy was I hyped...Sega would haveonline games, and my non-PC-having tail would have the thrill of controlling a special-ops team with other non-PC-having @$$!es...Now almost halfway to 2001 the lazy Majesco Sales team comes out with this game, ducking promised release dates like a bad report card...Maybe I can change that "E" to a "B" with a black pen, telephone rings...who could it be? Teacher conferences screw you everytime...but back to reviewing this game. With the sequel "Rainbow Six-Rogue Spear" close behind like a concerned parent, I must really say at this point WHO CARES ANYMORE. With the "real" Sega net still months away, this game has already lost 50% of its fun due to lack of online play. Also you can't play with more than 2 players, deduct another 25%. The environments are nice and the missions are realistic and intense(of course otherwise it wouldn't have Tom Clancy's name attached), but again its now almost June 2000 and I'm just not excited about playing a dated PC conversion which only delivered 25% of what I expected, and took longer to find a home than a certain garbage barge in the late 1900's. This thing has been in and out of the "almost done" status more often than most rock stars are in and out of rehab...

SPECTACULAR!

I WAS EXCITED TO KNOW THAT RAINBOW SIX WAS COMING OUT ON THE DREAMCAST. WHEN I FINALLY OPENED THE PACKAGE AND POPPED THE DISK IN MY DREAMCAST I WAS ON A RIDE TO SAVE THE WORLD. IT'S JUST LIKE THE PC VERSION BUT WITH EASIER CONTROL..INSTEAD OF USING A KEYBOARD , NOW YOU CAN USE A JOYSTICK. I LOVE THE GRAPHICS AND REALISM IN RAINBOW SIX. IF YOU PLAYED THE PC VERSION AND LOVED IT..WELL GET READY TO PURCHASE THE DREAMCAST VERSION. I WAS EXPECTING MORE SMOOTH OUT GRAPHICS, BUT WHAT THE DREAMCAST IS GIVEN..I'LL TAKE. IT'S AN AWESOME GAME YOU JUST CAN'T PUT DOWN. IT'S FUN! FUN! FUN!. RAINBOW SIX ON THE DREAMCAST IS AWESOME. IT'S BASICALLY LIKE THE PC VERSION MAYBE ENHANCED JUST A LITTLE BUT WORKS GREAT. SO IF YOU'RE A RAINBOW SIX JUNKIE. CHECK IT OUT ON THE DREAMCAST. YOU'LL ENJOY IT.

The graphics tend to be a bit bland, but this is a port of a PC game from back in the day. You can't expect much to change.

The sound though is much better: from reloading your weapons to the sound of a flash bang, the atmosphere is lovely.

There are some minor glitches, such as getting stuck on walls while climbing or stepping; something very hindering when you get to later levels that require stealth.

And the difficulty may put some people off. First off, you must spend several minutes in planning before each mission. The problems come when you start the level and most of your teammates just run and get themselves killed, no matter how well you planned it out. I find myself just having everyone hold while I do it myself; which is difficult seeing as how the enemies will kill you the instant you see them, leaving you with the options of shooting them in the back, or tossing a flash-bang everytime you enter a room.

But that aside, the game is pretty fun. And you finally get to play as Ding.

Amazing shooting Dreamcast game

Rainbow Six is one amazing game. You just what the U.S. Army is doing right now in Afghanistan. You are with an anti-terrorist group which tries to stop terrorists from bombing buildings and other terrorist acts.

You and your group do drills to train for your missions. The only bad part is the missions and choosing all of your stuff takes a long time....A VERY LONG TIME.....

After you have all of your weapons and materials you go on over 21 different missions. You kill terrorists and try to save hostages by getting past the terrorists guarding them who will shoot you right when they see you which causes a problem. It is nearly impossible to save the hostages.

On your missions you also go to certian areas and get ready to make your attack on the enemies. Then its time to attack with your sweet guns. This game is a great shooting simulator that will attract many people who enjoy hunting or shooting with guns.

This game is almost too realistic which isn't all that bad, but bad when it comes to you getting killed all the time when you go on certain missions.

If you are looking for some fun with your Dreamcast...this is the game to get.

#1 Game on Dreamcast

Rainbow Six is the best game the Dreamcast has to offer. The graphics are great and so is the music. The game actually makes you feel like you are a member of special OPS, Mission planing, sneak actacks, raidsand hostage resuces. R6 also gives you a very big challenge, offering two different levels of diffuculty: Recuit and Vetren. If you like shooting games, stragety, or fast pace games, this is the game for you. You'll need to invest lots of time in it to actually beat the game, it took my a couple of months and it's very hard. Not for begginers!
