Rainbow Six is a great port of the PC game. The graphics aren't the best, but everything else makes up for it. The sound is wonderful. I haven't finished the game yet but so far it has been challenging and fun. Buy it!
This Game Rocks!

Rainbow Six is one of the most exciting games I've played. It challenges your planning abilities and ability to react under pressure. You will definateley feel an adrenalin rush each mission. I think the graphics are pretty darn good. There is plenty of game plays for weeks of fun. The only drawbacks are that the instructions are inadequate, and the game occasionally locks up for me. Get yourself a Prima's Guide to get the most out of this game.
If you like first person shooters and special ops and SWAT, you will like this game.
This game is the best when playing with the right people

Rainbow Six was the funnest games I've played on-line. I rated it a 4 because if you get into a multi-player game with somebody that has slow modem, their character will jerk around and make it hard to get a bead on them. Other than that, it is THE BEST GAME on the market. Find the right game room to play in, and you'll have the greatest time you've ever had.
Not even close to goldeneye

This game was a big letdown. The graphics are comparable to an N64 game, and the unfluid motion of the terrorists is like a playstation game. The missions are relativley simple, kill all the terrorists, little deviation from that. This game is not worthy of being compared to goldeneye. Guess I'll have to wait until Half-Life comes out before there is a good shooter on the Dreamcast.
This is terribly amazing

You may have remembered me from my past review, "This one tops action and strategy". Well, you may have remembered how stupendous this game was, and I'm here to say it again. This game is amazing. The graphics and frame rate are fresh and eye-boggleing. The players and eneimes talk, such as commands as "take em down". The only set back for none bloody fans or protective parents is the blood, which can be turned off. This game is sick (cool) and well worth your hard-earned money. This never gets old, buy it and be happy
Disappointing game !

First of all I would like to say that with all the power the Dreamcast can provide the graphics in this game are really choppy. The only thing I really liked was the ability it gave you to plan out your mission and make personal changes as well as equipment changes. However the actual gamepley was awful. The scenery was too plain and first person view mode made it difficult to play. This game has it's upsides but at the same time it has alot of cons that don't make it worth the investment.
A HUGE Letdown...

I really wanted to like this game. I wanted to play it ever since I got my Dreamcast. After many delays, it finally came out, so I rented it. Good thing that's all I did. I'm sorry to report, but this is a horrible game. But why? First off, are the graphics. While they're certainly not the worst I've ever seen, they really leave too much to be desired, especially for the fact that this is a Dreamcast game. You can see the polygons sticking out of the characters and they don't look realistic at all. I've seen N64 games that look better than this. Heck, I've seen Playstation 1 games that look better. The next problem are the controls. They are the worst part of this game. Using the X, Y, B, and A buttons to move isn't bad, but on default, A moves foward and Y moves back. MDK2, Fur Fighters, Quake 3, and almost every other shooter on the DC uses the same X, Y, B, and A movement setup, but after playing those far better games where A moved back and Y moved foward, it's difficult to change. Mercifully, you can change this setup (but unfortunately, only the X, Y, B, A movement setup) to match the other games mentioned above. That's not the end of the control woes, however. With cumbersome menus and 37 commands put into the Dreamcast controller, without support for the Dreamcast Keyboard, it makes the game a REAL pain to learn and makes it barely playable. I can assure you, the controls are much worse than they sound. Not to mention the fact that you can't customize anything but the moving controls (mentioned above) to your liking. Plus, the loading times are too darn long. But there's something good about this game. The sounds are very good and draw you into the action, and the voicework is above average. But that's sadly it. I was hoping for a good spy game like Goldeneye, but with more emphasis on stealth and on the Dreamcast, but I just wasn't that lucky. Don't bother wasting your time with this piece of junk. Instead, skip it and go immediately to Perfect Dark. This game had so much potential, and it's a real shame that it couldn't come together.
not worth the wait!

What can I say but aaahhhhh! I wait months and months for a game that is just dull. Even when you get the very extensive controls down it still sucks. Rent if you must but don't buy!

Am I supposed to get excited when I play this game? If the designers were hoping to bore me, they did a great job. Lame sound effects, bogus graphics, and sluggish action make this one pretty dull. Skip it.
Much better on the PC

In Rainbow Six, you assemble a highly skilled team of anti terrorist commandos, plan out your assault and then control one or more of the team as you commence your invasion.
The critical item to note here is that the majority of the game is spent choosing your team, equiping them properly and then planning out the raid. This is not Syphon Filter where you jump into a room of bad guys and blaze away. You can be killed in a single shot. Once the action begins, you can play any one of the raid team that is engaging the enemy, otherwise the sophisticated computer AI will guide them according to your plans.
I agree with the reviews that suggest that you rent this game first. It is very detailed and realistic. If you don't want to spend hours analyzing and preparing the missions, then you wont't appreciate the game's considerable depth.
I find that the detail level does not lend itself well to the standard dreamcast controller. There are too many things to do and the interface layout is awkward without a keyboard and mouse. I also found that the action part of the game (moving the aiming cursor) was overly sensitive and very frustrating to use.
The other reason that this game does not rate highly for me was the poor, boxey graphics and the medicore sound. They just do not take advantage of the Dreamcast capabilities. On the otherhand, the game does have a lot of replay value and very sophisticated AI.
