I have played many different video games in my time and i'd have to say the N64 version of Rainbow Six is THE most enjoyable game I have ever played. Period. I can't wait for the dreamcast version to come out.

Im glad i waited to write this review because when i first got this game 5 days ago i thought this game sucked! but now after a few days of playing i've really grew to like this game.well im gonna get the bad issues out of the way first. The graphics look like N64,the control is a little weird at first but after alittle bit there just fine, and the game is 8 months behind schedule so i feel there was no excuse for the graphics! Now the good issues This game is fun,i really like how you can change the mission plans making it feel like the missions outcome is different every time,i also like how you can switch teams during the mission giving this game more depth and stratergy! i also like the audio of you're team members talking back and forth. in the end this is a great game with only a few flaws!
Almost the same as the PC title

The learning curve on this game seems daunting at first but once you master the controls you're off in tactical wonderland. I played the PC title to its conclusion and found the DC version is trimmed a bit. The additional Eagle missions more than makes up for it. However, several missions have cropped mission maps/environments. The final mission before the Eagle missions, for example, is less than half in scope of the PC version. As such, if you've played the PC game, you'll easily cruise through the DC version; almost too easily. The frame rate in the DC version is far better than that of the PC version. You fly through scenes. A word of caution: if you've played Rogue Spear before Rainbow Six you'll be severely disappointed. Rogue Spear is an intense improvement over R6. I mean Wow! The graphics, the mission sizes, the AI; everything is superior. Whatever the case, R6 is so playable beyond winning the game it's worth owning. Tango Down!

Thanks to the gorgeous graphics of the Dreamcast, team Rainbow looks beutiful and moves like butter. The ability to plan out your attacks and specify the team members is awesome. The wide variety of weapons and suits allows for different experiences every mission. The controls are a bit complicated and hard to learn, but with enough practice, it becomes easy. Unlike most other shoot-em-up games (Which, Rainbow goes far beyond), one shot kills. However, the low difficutly of the shooting makes up for that as your enemies dont notice you unless youre right in their face. There isnt a consistent storyline, but the missions are varied and allow for different kinds of fun. whether it be putting 20 holes in one man with a machine gun or blowing 3 guys up with a grenade. Rainbow offers a great deal of fun and is a challenging game full of adventure and strategy.

I bought this game based on the great reviews, but this game is DULL DULL DULL. It's too hard to learn, the control is hard, there are too many buttons to learn, the missions are stupid, the instruction booklet is very unhelpful, and the graphics are bad. This game has no action and I'm sorry I wasted my money.

I went to blockbuster on my Birthday and I saw rainbow 6 for the sega dreamcast. I was like Whoa cool im definitly gonna rent this. When I got home and played it for 10 minutes I was mad. Rainbow 6 for dreamcast was an exact copy of the PC version. It had no enhanced graphics on it. The game is at max 64-bit graphics. Dont buy this game it was fun for the pc but not for dreamcast. To top it all of the controls sucked too. Dont buy this game, It's definitly not worth it.

This game is very much like a playstation game with the graphics. After playing NFL and CV I expect a little more with the graphics. A little disappointed.
disappointed...

The announced release of Rainbow 6 with online multiplayer capability was one of the reasons I originally bought a dreamcast. Unfortunately it is nothing more than a port of the old pc version...without online play. The graphics are poor for dreamcast, the controls are cumbersome, and the enemy AI seems an awful lot smarter than my computer controlled team members. Don't get me wrong...the original pc version at the time was a great game but you should expect substantially more from a new dreamcast version. All in all a disappointment...
