Uncharted Gets It Right

Let me begin by saying that if you are looking for a review that is going to delve into the technical aspects of the game, this is not the review for you. I'm a casual gamer. Sure I like great graphics and sound, but to me a great game is something that is fun and takes my mind off the day to day junk that we all have. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is that game. The game immediately sucks you in. If you like adventure stories like Raiders of the Lost Arc, you are going to love this. You are on a hunt for treasure, you're trying to beat the bad guys to the loot, you're crawling around the jungle, having shoot outs, solving puzzles and exploring ruins....what's not to love? The story is top notch. You'll be hooked after the first cut scene, and the twist at the end is very cool. I never saw it coming which just added to the fun. The characters are great and the acting is some of the best I've experienced in a game. The characters are so well written that I found myself invested in their individual story lines. I really felt like I was in the action. The game play is amazing. The controls are easy to learn so there weren't any complicated button sequences to follow to perform a move. I just picked it up, bypassed reading the directions which I do often, and started playing. The puzzles and tasks in the game are sometimes challenging, but not impossible. They are just hard enough to keep you interested but not so hard that you just give up. All the player needs to do is look at the environment and the answer will be right in front of them. It took me two days to finish the game which goes to show how much I got into this game. Normally it takes me a couple of weeks or more, but with Uncharted you can't put it down. I do need to say that the graphics are jaw dropping. This is a beautiful game. Sometimes I would just stop playing just to look at the detail on the screen. The audio was just as great. Playing it on surround sound was pretty cool. So if you are looking for an extremely fun adventure game then this is the game for you.

Uncharted is simply a fun and enjoyable game for the PS3.

I always enjoy the Indiana Jones, Tomb Raider genre and had high hopes for this game. Well, it delivered. Great story and amazing graphics are what brings this game to life as soon as you begin. The 2 main characters almost reminded me of Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner from Romancing the Stone. Anyway, the game is fun, a little easy to figure out, but one should enjoy the little extras it offers along the way. A definite winner for the PS3! (finally!)

one of the best games i've played comparing this game to tomb raider is like comparing pong to halo 3. It makes any tomb raider game i've ever played look sick. The best graphics on any next gen console and i have them all. If you own a ps3 buy this game if you dont own a ps3 buy it to play this game.

Cool game.. but the gameplay is the same all the way

The game is really cool. I played the demo and I bought this game. This was my first PS3 game.

The game itself is very interesting with a good story line and good stages.

Cons:
There are interesting gameplay changes in the middle but most of the gameplay is almost the same.

This is the first adventure game I've bought for my PS3. This game is very good. The whole story plays like a movie, and then drops you in the middle of situations to either shoot or strategize/climb your way out of. Very immersive.

This game is amazing. A little bit "Prince of Persia", a little bit "Tomb Raider". The controls take a little getting used to and it can be hard to aim at villains moving around so quickly, but once you get the hang of it, it just adds to the fun. Highly recommended!

For all the reasons fore mentioned this is the best game I've ever played. The only way it could be better would be if it was multiplayer.

Had to finish it once i started. got me addicted, the intrigue reminded me of the first season of lost, because of two or three weird twists in the story.

the only complaint is that sometimes there are more bad guys in a wave than you'd want, so you'd have to stop advancing down the story path until you do off with them... but it's not bad enough to lose stars.

what they say about graphics... absolutely true. stunning, though the fantastic gameplay will probably keep you from noticing this.

This is the best game from 2007 interms of detail of any motion and gorgeous graphic design.
