Lets get right to it. This is the AAA single player game we've all been waiting for. If only it lasted longer.
Pros
- True Next Gen graphics running in native 720p
- Perfect pacing, quick puzzles, quick cutscenes, lots of action
- Smooth controls, intense combat, solid enemy AI
- AAA voice acting
- A story that beats 95% of summer movies
- Trophy support patched!
- in game medals/rewards
- No time wasting extended switch hunting or backtracking
- No needless respawning enemies in most areas
Cons
- very short, can beat in 5 hours or less if you speed game
- Final boss battle is a big let down
- Some cheapness w/ unfair scripted events
- Treasure hunting is a bit pointless
- Puzzles are easy, too easy for some people
- Story can get a bit unrealistic
- Not enough extras like new skins/outfits/weapons etc...
Hopefully the first game in a long franchise

This is one of the games I bought the PS3 for. Adventure games are my weakness, so when I found out Naughty Dog was making one for the PS3, I knew I had to get it eventually. I'm so glad that I did.
This game had done the best job I this generation of making me feel like I'm playing "an epic adventure." The graphics are excellent, but more than that, the graphic style used does a great job at selling this as a real world. When you come across old stone castles, they feel like they're a part of the world and not just some new level to get through.
My experience playing this game was unlike most other games I've played. This one felt like I was in the story, discovering the things along with the character. That might sound hokey, but to me it just shows how well the story and gameplay meld together.
I liked the unlockable bonus features. Some of that stuff might have been available online, but in my current situation, I am unable to access all those things, so having it on the game disk was really appreciated.
I really hope this becomes a new franchise for Naughty Dog, because I can't wait to see what the next adventure will be.

I bought this game as something I could do with my kids. Adventure, puzzles, etc. but it quickly degraded into a fairly explicit shooter. Not as nasty as say "Gun" or "Gears of War", but definitely not "T" rating material. How this got a "T" and "Halo" gets an "M" I'll never know.
Parents, unless you're OK with your kids popping off bloody head-shots with AK47s and pistols, stay away.
(Thankfully, my kids found the game boring shortly after it turned shooter.)

Don't get me wrong. I see where someone that's into the whole Tomb Raider-esque genre will love this game. But that's part of the problem with it. After you get by the initial oooo-ing and aaahh-ing, there just doesn't seem to be anything new here. It's basically the "Not starring an almost obscenely dressed woman" version of Tomb Raider.
So dudes...if you're looking for a manly-man version of the same old puzzle-solving, ledge-jumping, why-doesn't-this-damn-thing-aim-right type of game...here it is. Enjoy.
It's really not a horrible game. I would have liked to see some more done with the actual action sequences...but I'll chalk that up to a personal preference and leave it at that.
Would I rent it...Yeah.
Would I buy it...only if I was really into this particular genre.
is it just me and a few others

for some reason i beleived the hype on this game, but, quite frankly, i am getting bored of it pretty quick, did'nt they have a few more colors in their crayon box to add to the scenery and the play is VERY repetitive, it is a little fun but that is about it, a LITTLE, i can't seem to play for more than 20 minutes at a time, everything seems to blend in color , meaning it all looks the same, but, i guess a lot of people enjoy it, just not me
Great Game

Okay, so I'm not big on First-Person Shooters in the single player, offline aspect. I played the uncharted demo, though, and really wanted to give this one a shot. Yes, 60 bucks is a lot for a game but that's pretty much what you're gonna have to pay to get a good one right now. The controls were a lot of fun: hiding behind structures, good camera angles, ability to switch which eye you're aiming with. Also, the health amount on fair difficulty is just about right (you know you're about to die because everything loses color and you hear your heart beat, and you must quickly get away and hide or finish off whoever you're fighting for health to recharge.
One complaint I've heard a lot is length of the game: yes, even someone in vet school like myself could complete the game in a little over a week. So, you could rent the game and probably beat it in a few days, but I look forward to giving friends a chance to trying it out. The AI is pretty good and unique to any other shooters I've played. They don't all out rush you but they aren't stationary either, a good balance. Also, you're challenged by only enough ammo to narrowly make it through some levels.
There are some puzzles, but they are just a breather from the fighting and the storyline and can always be figured out within a few minutes. Finally, the story may be the BEST part of this game. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and you interact with a lot of the characters you see throughout the game.
Only reason it's 4 stars is the length of the game.

I bought this for my son for Christmas. He received the PS3 last year and we bought a Hi-Def television this year. The graphics on the Hi Def are incredible and my son has praised the game and can't wait for the next go version. Drake's Fortune is one of the best releases for the PS3 thus far.

This game is so awesome!!
Pros:-Great gameplay (It blends genres perfectly) "It's a Shooter, Adventure and Puzzler."
-Captivating Story
-Really Fun
Cons:-None (Besides Being Sad When It's Over) "You really want it to keep going."
You will most likely want to play this game 2 or 3 more times. It's really that great! Plus, Medals (Skill Points) and Rewards will make you want to continue even more when its over.
Best Game for the PS3, bar NONE!!!!!

This is the best game for the PS3 and one of the best games of 2007. I purchased the PS3 and this game at the same time and couldn't believe it. I own a 360 as well and the only game that is as fun as this one is Halo 3. This game plays just like a movie. I couldn't even tell when the cut scenes would start and end. The dialogue in this movie is great, matching that of a box office hit. There is plenty of action and the story will keep you interested until the very end. Oh, did I mention the amazing graphics? They are superb. They really utilize the PS3's capabilities. Heck, this game looks better than Halo 3.
If you own a PS3, this game is a MUST HAVE!
