a must for all ps3 owners. Carries on the fabulous tradition of Ratchet and Clank, including witty humor, seamless game play, extremely well-developed story, and a delightful variation in sceneries as you move along. The graphics are absolutely stunning, carrying Ratchet and Clank brilliantly into next gen bliss, and actions are intuitive, allowing for quick immersion into the game without tedious time spent figuring moves out. It will take some doing to top this one!
Stunning Graphics and Gameplay!!

This is the first Ratchet and Clank game that I have played and I can tell you that I'm very impressed!! I downloaded the demo on the PS3 and literally played it 10 times or more. I knew then that I needed to purchase it. It really seems as if you are playing a Pixar movie.
Graphics - Top notch
Game play - Additively Fun
Replay - Plenty of things to explore on a second time around
The storyline is well written and the comedic scenes will literally have you laughing out loud.
Highly recommend. Kudos to this game's developers!!

Awesome and super fun game! Disco ball sequences are especially cool to watch! All sorts of different planets to visit and all different kinds of enemies to battle! The Tornado weapon is controlled by the SIXAXIS controller feature! I highly recommend this game to others!

It is extremely addicting game. Once you start you have to finish. Each level is challenging. Game finishes fast as challenge level is also not too difficult.
Best game for kids on PS3.
Superb!!! but more story line & play time would be nice.

I never like adventure/platform game but I decided to try on this. Once I started playing this, I got hooked and I kept playing... for more.
Graphics were stunning, silly story line were great (but not long enough). Everything worked out well for me. I wish this game had more length to it. I spent 4 days in a row (about 10-12 hours a day) to finish this game (now I'm halfway in the unlocked mode).
Insomniac has done it again after the release of resistance: FOM.
Fun, funny and a great game to play

I am now playing through Ratchet & Clank for the second time. I am still enjoying the game.
This is probably the kind of game the Insomniac people would have made a few years ago if they had the power to do so. PSIII has made it possible now - the last PSII Ratchet & Clank was ok, but nowhere near as much fun as the earlier games.
The story is pretty good and it is good to have Captain Quark back (I miss Al). I hope some of the other characters are revisited in future Ratchet & Clank games and their surely will be more - "Tools of Destruction" does end with a cliff-hanger of sorts. Needless to say, we'll learn more about the Zonies in the next instalment. The humour is good - the hypersleep scene in Ratchet's space craft cracks me up every time! Quark's drawings of Zombie Mutant Ninja Panda Bears were hilarious! Full marks to the boys and girls at Insomniac!
So, I was wondering when Hollywood was going to make a movie ......
No! Scratch that idea and forget I ever mentioned it!

...because since I bought it, I do little other than play it. Having never seen R&C before, it's all new to me. It kind of reminds me of Crash Bandicoot but with the best elements of hack and slash and "find your way" (there are parts that remind me of Drake or Prince of Persia). The hack and slash portion of the game is, by far, the majority of the game, but it's so intensely enjoyable that it's impossible to get bored with it. When you smash an enemy or a box or chest, you are rewarded by bolts and raritarium flying out and then being magnetized to back you immediately. I love hack and slash but this is top of the line stuff.
I don't need to tell you how good the graphics are. Just like everything else with PS3 they are intense. The colors and movement in this game are just spectacular. I'm not enough of a graphics hound to give you any specifics except to say, I can't imagine how the graphics could be any better.
The only two faults with this game (in my opinion) are the few times you have to use the sixaxis tilt controls and the save points. I haven't found the tilt controls to be at all intuitive. You have to use them only occasionally (to fly using robo-wings, to guide your passage as you parachute toward the ground, and to (in essence) pick locks (it's called "decoding"). I haven't yet been able to manage the tornado, I was thrilled when I was offered the option to use regular controls to gude the robo-wings, and the lock picking is so occasional, it's no big. For the most part though, I'd be happy if I could bypass this option.
The other issue is saving. You can save at any point by selecting the save option, but the game only saves at a certain point. This means that if you're halfway through a section and you choose save, when you come back to the game, you're back at the beginning of the section (if you leave the game on and just pause it, you won't lose your progress, but god forbid the power goes out). I find this to be pretty frustrating in certain parts when you have to replay a whole chunk because you can't make one jump or something.
Anyway, the save issue is the only reason this is four starts and not five. It's definitely five in the what-an-awesome-game department.
My favorite game

Most video games take themselves sooo seriously... Why aren't there more goofy action/shooter games like Ratchet & Clank? The weapons/gadgets, gameplay, movement, animation, storyline, humor: all executed brilliantly.
Great game, not the best of series

BOTTOM LINE:
RnC is one of the most addictive platformers ever created!
This hits in mosts places, misses in a few, but STILL kicks arse over most games available. Not the best of the series, but worth the money. Not challenging at all. My 6-yr old beat it twice already.
PROS: graphics that rival PIXAR movies
funny storyline
robo-wings are awesome
great set-up
Pure Fun.
CONS: Some weapons completely useless
Challenge Mode needs to be more 'challenging'.
What an amazing game!
