Let me first say that I've always been a huge Nintendo fan, and I am in no way biased against Nintendo or the "childish" image they have been given. That said, I have to be honest: this game sucks. I really can not figure out why everyone seems to love it. The graphics are pretty bad for the GameCube and are not very detailed at all (the steering wheels are octagonal, characters are just really shiny instead of having any detailed textures, etc.), the gameplay is boring and gets old very fast, and the music is annoying, synthesized, repetitive crap. It seems to me that the developers were just lazy here, the poor graphics are a testament to that. I haven't seen characters without fingers since the N64 days. But hey, if you know it'll sell no matter what, why put any effort into it, right? When I bought it, I figured at the very least it would have fun multiplayer as in previous Mario Kart titles, but I was wrong. I went to a friend's house and we both got tired of the multiplayer modes within 10 minutes. First-party Nintendo games have a history of being excellent, but I feel really let down by this one. Do yourself a favor: save some money, dust off your N64 and keep on playing the Mario Kart for that.

Thiis game was horrible, it took almost an hour to download evrything and it kept freezing while i was playing. Glitches are always accuring and you never actual play. I deffinetly do not recommend this game to anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great for 6 1/2 year old, adults, and everyone in between

Both my 6 1/2 year old son and I enjoy this game. It's a go kart racing event where you can choose your characters and go karts. There are many races to choose from. You can race alone or compete against friends. The races last about 4 minutes. There is a feature that allows you to replay the race after you have completed it which is pretty cool. After 4 races, there is an award ceremony if you come in first, second, or third. There is strategy in choosing karts, some are faster, some are better handling. There are many tricks to the race courses that you learn over time, so you are not easily bored. There is a pause feature which is really handy if you have to stop the race to answer the phone or do a chore.

This game is really good! They have really added alot more than they did on the other mario kart games! Get it, it is worth your money!!! not like MARIO PARTY 5!!! AHHHHHH!!

I love the Mario Kart series but this one took a new twist. Adding a second character to your kart for extra fun. Double Dash is brilliantly crafted, awesome graphics and cool stages you'll love to play over and over again, especially Baby Park as it can get pretty wild after the first 2 laps.
Tons of characters to choose from and unlock, every character has their own special weapon. The best being Bowser and Baby Bowser's Giant Bowser Shell, Donkey and Diddy's Giant Bananas and Yoshi and Birdo's Egg. Pick any of these characters and you will have a disaster path behind you.
One of the best games to play with your friends or alone, either way, a must play and a must buy.

This game is so much cool ' and its my overall favorite mario kart game i guess its because I've never played the previous ones ' well in double dash you can select your own combo and which character you want to drive with you for Example like Have mario and baby mario being in a combo together ' its cool seening both of them in a game together

Peach beach is my favorite course ; very nice look also ' anyway this game is for long time mario kart players so bye this game you wont regret it :)

Mario Reclaims the Racing Genre

One of the fastest, most intese and fun games of all time is back with avengeance. With beautifully colorful graphics, you speed around in your kart and throw shells, fire, bombs, chompers and other weapons at your enemies. The new two-person-per-kart feature is absolutely amazing. The co-op mode gives an extra spice to this game.

The new multiplayer mode, Shine Thief, is one of the mode heart-racing multiplayer games ever! You can play it a hundred times and it will never lose its intensity. I could go on explaining why this game is so good, but I'm sure you already know, having played MarioKart 64 or any of the MarioKart games.

I leave you with the final words: GO BUY THIS GAME! If you haven't got a Gamecube, this is the reason to buy one!

well the game is good...but I would rather just get the game used at EB cause it'd be cheaper
