Better than any other RTS I've played recently. I lost at least a week of good sleep to this bugger.

One of the BEST RTS games I have played

There is so much more to do on this new total war game, such as: Crusades. If there are too many of them I get slightly annoyed, especially if your in the middle of a tense war, with lots happening. New factions. There are more and more of them. There are so many more opponents to attack and defend from. Graphics. The graphics have gotten better from Rome by a little, but that little counts. The landscape changes when you start farming. Americas. The Americas are just bursting with surprises and money. I personally sack all the Aztec cities for the money, and I get a lot. The AI. The AI have improved froom being extremely placid when outnumbered the slightly placid. Still, the AI needs a bit of work.

The cons are that the whole thing takes up a hell of a lotta space. My computer has barely enough space for any other games. The AI have a tendancy of attacking you for no reason, especially if your allies with them. Not very powerful. So it's just a thorn in my side. How pointless.

Otherwise, a beautiful game and fantastic deal. I recomend it to absolutely everyone.

This game is great! I think Sega's purchase of The Total War company was a great idea and we'll have more awesome games with bigger budgets to come out in the future!!

Amazing fun!

Perfect strategy game. Emphasis is use on strategy, not number of units. Very realistic combat, which factors include: morale, speed, formation, terrain, etc. Great number of units and structures.

Terrific game

I got this game for Christmas, and I am amazed at the level of depth and complexity. The game captures the essence of medieval warfare and politics, as players are forced to go on crusade, crush peasant rebellions, marry off their princesses (and princes), contend with religious movements and heresies, and control their economy. Unlike some other reviewers, I haven't had problems with the AI. The graphics are solid, but you will need a pretty powerful system (but nothing like Neverwinter Nights II).

If you like mass-combat games, you'll love this one.

A Great game

Theis game is great as all of the other total war games are. What makes this game really fun is the fact that it seperates resorces and empire manegment separate from battles. I mean who wants to be collecting recorces when you what to have a battle. it is won of the most realistic games out their with weather, terrian, moral, and stanima all haveing an effect on the battles. I have heard people complaining about the game taking up to much space. This is in fact a lie. I have a 2003 windows xp and a 250 mb graphics card and i have room for five other games and three expansion packs. With the system that I have the game runs flawlesly in the execption of the massive battles of 5000 troops or more but what do you expect thats a lot of guys I am personly conent with 3000 men on the battle at once fighting with coriographed moves.

Great potential

You could play this game for months. Just one campaign, going for complete conquest would take a very long time.
The concept is great, but there are many annoying things in the end product. Battle AI is frustrating because your own people don't do what you want, even if morale is good. Map or turn AI can be frustrating too. I won't even think about being England again. Being a Catholic country results in way too many problems with the Pope. Most frustrating is trying to expand territory within the Catholic realm. Just when you are about to take a new city, the Pope threatens to excommunicate you. Then while you wait for that to expire, that nation builds up it's forces and it becomes a very tough fight. And Inquistors are just crazy. If you get one in your region, they kill everyone, including your king and priests that have been doing well against heretics. This seemed way to extreme in terms of frequency.
I avoided this by picking the Moors. Also frustrating are heretics and traitors. Frequency increases as your empire grows. It's part of the game, but I'd be happier playing it if at least some of these things weren't or at least were less severe.
There's still lots of fun to be had if you like strategy games.

Good Simulation

This game was pretty good. The only thing that kept me from giving it 5 Stars was the fact that it is too similiar to the Rome: Total War Games. It basically is like a new version set in a diferent time period. It could have used a few more changes.
