This is the best mmorpg i've ever played...

I've played em all too! Meridian59, UO, Neocron, DAOC, EQ, AC, AO and all the others.

The game is beautiful, stunning in some areas, very very deep, with over 10 worlds to explore, each bigger than most games in themselves.

PvP is exceptionally good, with mad battles nightly in the major areas against rebel/imperials. Ironically, most people think SWG is pure carebear, this ain't true at all. The pvp is a switch based system, and is very effective and exciting. I see 40 vs 40 battles almost everynight..

The whole skill system and advancement concept of this game is brilliant, very much like UO in many respects. The housing, crafting, trades, and vendor system is top of the line.

BUY THIS GAME! But be sure to research it, its pretty complicated for a complete newbie.

By far the most diverse and entertaining MMORPG

I'm a really big fan of the Starwars Trilogy and the newer movie's and this game looks really cool. I don't actually own it but let me tell you what I've learned from all the reviews I read.

Graphics: 5 stars. I've seen pictures of the game and the graphics are awesome!

Gameplay: 3 stars. Either they love it or they hate it.

Cost: 2 stars. They say that the first month is free but if you think about it it's really 24.99$ This is the cost of the game, So the first month is actually more expensive then all the others. (Which are 17.00 if you add tax in)

Economy: 2 stars. Sadly most reviewers say that it's hard to get a good deal if your new. But I've come across one or two people that think it's easy to get a good deal.

Enviorment: 4 stars. I've only come across two reviews that say the other players are rude or obnoxious.

Overall: 5 stars. This game look's promising but like any other game out there, There are people who like it and people who don't. I'm deffinitly giving "Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided" a try. I'm going to get some money in my bank first so that I can afford it but after that's all set I'll give this game a spin and you can look for my next review on the "Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Devided" Regular edition! Bye!

Depende de lo que queras....

En lo personal no me atraen los MMORPG's. He jugado en varios como Anarchy Online y Earth and Beyond.

Star Wars: Galaxies is a MMORPG designed to allow ordinary people, like you and me, to be able to live the life of character in Star Wars. The wide variety of professions that you may choose from is one of the great highlights of this game. This game has the PvP, PvE, Roleplay, and Crafting aspects that makes a MMORPG complete.

Graphics in this game isn't as great as EverQuest 2 (the best eye candy MMORPG by far), but it is pretty high on the scale. My rating 8.5/10.

Gameplay is outstanding. I've played over 30 different major MMORPGs and I can't stay away from SW:G. In fact, I'm purchasing my 3 cd set for a 3rd account. My rating 10/10.

Sound in this game isn't bad, but could be better. You can seriously tell that they didn't put as much effort in the sound for the game as they did with the other features. My rating 6/10.

Replay value is something not normally used in reviews for Online games, but I think it should be important. This game is fun and starting new with a second, third, or more characters doesn't come off as work. You actually enjoy doing the same quests over and over. My rating 9.5/10.

The reason for some of the negative reviews is the lack of interested/knowledge in the Star Wars stories. Some will be very negative about the combat system change in April 2005 (these are mostly the older players of the game who oppose change). The most common complaint about this game is the fact that you have to put some time into the game before you can become a Jedi (approx. 5 1/2 months at the bare minimum). Don't be discouraged at that, there is so much more to the game that'll help that time pass by.

best game ever

I'm under NDA (gotta love beta)
but I can say, wow. The hype hasn't done this game ANY justice. It keeps getting better every day I play it. You must play this game, even if you've never played a MMORPG before.

I don't think so...

Well for me Star Wars has always been one of the most pop candy of all sci-fi's so the game scares me that it will follow in that line, especialy now that they have taken out the dark jedi as being playable.

I was in the Beta

The developers have put a lot of time and really hard work into making this game the best they could. The testers also really put their hearts and souls into refining and improving as much as they could before launch.

The graphics are beautifully rendered, multi-layered and very realistic. The gameplay is mission-based for adventurers, with a player-driven economy for crafters and socialites. (There is no "storyline" per se, as this is an MMORPG and you are expected to create your own stories.) Everyone is necessary, including merchants and entertainers. Combat and skills are layered (not leveled) and there is no way for someone to be completely self-sufficient or buffed up into "god" territory. (Not that characters can't get very skilled and very strong, but there is no way for one character to be the best at everything at once.) There are basic and advanced professions, as well as the ability to design new items, food, clothing, hairstyles, etc. Unlike other MMORPG's, it's not impossible to solo or for a newbie character to play alongside a more advanced character.

All in all, this game was a pleasure for me to test, and I think that the SWG development team is releasing a product that everyone will enjoy thoroughly. You don't have to be a Star Wars geek to enjoy this game!(Granted, I think they'll get an extra level of enjoyment out of the little "surprises" the devs put in. Make sure to look for R2 3PO's pod where they crash-landed on Tatooine!)

I highly recommend this game to Star Wars geeks, MMORPG fanatics and people who just love a detailed, complex, and richly textured RPG.

Awesome
