the idea of having all these legends is great..but acclaim really did a bad job..first game play is very slow..theres alot of gilnches..its not good..dont expect wwe smackdwon quality or gameplay...maybe THQ should make a game like this...rent this game but dont buy it...LOW and LOW2 were also bad games and i thought they wouldve improved this one but they didnt..i only give this game 1 star because the idea is good but the final product is bad

No Ric Flair?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I have but one question. How can you have a wrestling game entitled "Legends of Wrestling" without the single biggest name in the history of the business? I mean don't get me wrong, Sting is awesome, as well as Andre The Giant, Jake Roberts, and Jerry Lawler among others but there's no Ric Flair? I haven't played this newest version of this game but I did play Legends Of Wrestling 1 & 2 and they were both horrible in terms of gameplay. I notice that for every one of these "Legends" games they always put Hulk Hogan on the front of the box in hopes to get more sales I guess. I'll buy one of these games when the "Nature Boy" himself is on the cover in one of his feathery robes giving us a big "WOOOOOOOO!!!"

THQ STILL IS THE CHAMP

I tried to like this game but no dice. I kept on comparing it to the much better SmackDown
title by THQ.The controls were lame, the wrestlers seem to be punching rather then wrestling.
During a match After about the 4th or 5th bunch they bleed already. The wrestler seem small
compared to SmackDown.Look I have been a wrestling fan for about 20 years now and
This game really disappointed me. The reason I gave any stars is because of the roster of
Wrestlers it has.My advice save the $$ for SmackDown vs Raw by THQ the real authority
on wrestling games.

Another dissapointment

They Just don't get it! In the 3rd Installment of the "Legends of Wrestling" franchise, this title fails to even be better than the first! The so called "Ready to Brawl" controls are sticky and confusing while the Camara angles don't help any. Theses are three major elements that prevent the gameplay of the title from flowing smoothly. In the end this just frustrated and confused me as well as sucked any possible fun out of this game.

The main brunt of this game is found in a game mode called "Showdown Challange" where you can either create your own wrestler and wrestle through 3 decades(70's, 80's and 90's) or pick a wrestler from a slew of 73 wrestlers from over those past three decades. This is a definate area where the folks at Acclaim excelled. All of the favorites are here. However, all the wrestlers have the same moves! The only thing different is that each wrestler has there own finishing move. This is another area where Acclaim falls short providing very little variety or creativity with gameplay. If that's not enough to make you turn of the playstation 2 in disgust, you'll soon find that the 3 decades are only 5 matches each(with storylines and match types differing from decade to decade!) That's it 50 bucks for 15 matches in this games boasted "Showdown Challange."

The announcing is also very bland with lackluster commentary from Bobby "the Brain" Heenan, Larry Zybisko, and Tony Shavonie. None of the commentary flows well and most of the commentary is used up throughout the 1st hour of gameplay. Don't worry, you probably won't play it an hour so you won't have to hear it all.

I have been a wrestling fan for many years and I really bought this title for nastalga purposes. After playing it I realized that that even came through poor due to all the things wrong that I mentioned above. I have never played a more insulting wrestling title and I think the folks at Acclaim should be ashamed of themselves. This is there 3rd installment in the "Legends" franchise after two earlier that had lackluster success. I don't know how many more wrestling games acclaim needs to put out before they realize they can't put out, at best a mediocre wrestling title.

when i got this game i found so many glitches in it.but the gameplay is awsome they have a large variety of wrestlers and they have good mathces. my biggest complain was they dont have there original entrance musics.they only have about 10 moves per wrestler and no voice overs.the commentary is weak and boring.but its still a good game for all those wrestling fans pick this up

Not As Good As Others......

Compared to some of the new SmackDown games
that are out- "Here Comes The Pain"
or "SmackDown VS Raw" ....

this game is just plain boring.
The selection of wrestlers is awesome,
but it doesn't take long for the novelty to
wear off...and you're left playing a slow paced,
repetitve game.

Stick with the SMACKDOWN series...they are by far
the best WWE games out there!

Only if you love the 80s

This game was made strictly for the 80's wrestling. I got to admit I'm one, but this game just doesn't do it for me. The controls are not good. When you press a button and two seconds later, they do the move, it's not really good. I do like the Classic Matches mode where you control a certain wrestler at pivotal parts of the match and I also like the fact that there are so many wrestlers to choose from. Other than that, there's not really much to this game. If you got SmackDown: HCTP or Def Jam Vendetta, you're better off playing thoses.

not bad but not great

I have to say this time out they did alot better than the first one. Never played the 2nd one but I'm sure it sucked. The best part about this game is the classic matches. This game isn't for anybody looking for another smackdown. It's a pure 70's/80's type of match. Punches, kicks, head locks, and then power moves. This probably angers most people who were looking for the smackdown powerbombs, and 2 thousand moves. IF you don't like the old school stuff, I'd shy away from this one. Well worth a rent in that you can beat the game in a little under 2hrs.

No Legend Here

I bought this game drooling at the idea that I could have The Ravishing One vs. Mr. Wonderful in a first blood match but the slow responsiveness of the controls and lack of replayability ruins this game. How could this truly be a legends game without Ric Flair, Arn & Ole Anderson, Magnum T.A.,Junkyard Dog and let us not forget The Total Package Lex Luger and the Midnight Express. This game is for hardcore fans who reminisce of the old-school days of the NWA and WWF. I think I may purchase WWE-HCTP. How bout this classic match for the next Legends title- Texas Boot Strap Match.
