Good... but not worth buying.

I have to say that although I enjoyed playing this game, it is really not worth buying. I beat it in a couple days (and I am not a serious PS2 gamer) and there is practically no replay value.

In terms of gameplay, it is successful. The battles are exciting and the character has a wide variety of attacks and moves to use against enemies. The puzzles, which are mainly based in acrobatic movement, are challenging and at times exhilarating; especially when the player is at a great height and must avoid falling. Everything got a little repetitive towards the end - there were really no significant differences in the types of puzzles and the enemies were the same, just larger quantities of them.

The story is simple yet I found it to be engaging; although a little predictable.

My recommendation is that you rent the game for a week or so when you have a lot of free time. I don't mean to say that this is a bad game, its just not worth paying forty dollars for it. You'll probably finish it in only a few days and you'll be able to return it to the video rental store with the satisfaction of knowing you only paid four dollars rather than forty.

Monkey + Spider + Persian Prettyboy= Prince of Persia

I have to tell u... I played the demo and I was blown away, trul blown away. You'll feel like a genie the first time you rewind time when you get hurt. Sure I hear the game is short, but also EXTREMELY fun. And it is, the combat is innovative and things, but since it is short, 50 bucks is a bit much...

I Must vent

I am playing the game right now and I have to type meanly on my keyboard. To get started I loved the 2D prince of persias and for that I started playing this expecting a lot. My first impression was that this was a great game, the graphics are beautiful and the moves are cool. But that is the end. there are so many horrible parts to this game I could never get to them all. worst of all though are the camera angles. this game had so much potential and they completely ruined it. COMPLETELY. half the time the view is shifted so that you cannot see yourself or the important action going on. next, you have to protect this obnoxious (...)that does absolutely nothing but get in th eway and get you in trouble. in short i wish i could have loved it but I really hate this game and the only think that keeps me playing is the need to finish it so I can throw it away.

this is a fun game when you first get it and play it for awile, eventually it gets really hard and just old, i wouldnt waste your money on this game, rent it instead because you will loose all interest after the first couple days.

all you do is go from room to room in a palace killing things on the way, the story is lame and the gameplay never changes, very repetative

D@NM i died again.

fun at some parts, but at others, its so hard that it takes all the fun out of it. if you want a real action game for the ps2, buy god of war or resident evil 4. they have fast paced action thats not lagged down by horrible gameplay.

This game has gotten game of the year awards and I want to give the truth: this game is button-mashing (when fighting) and puzzles (when not fighting). That's it. Two buttons to fight hordes of the undead who all buzz after you.

PROS (in my opinion):
The puzzles
The graphics
The acrobatic moves
The concept of "reversing time"

CONS:
The fighting (brings bushleague mashing of buttons to a new low)
Also, fighting with only a sword/dagger is lame (what happened to good old fashioned RPGs and machine guns?)
The undead (CLICHE #1)
The storyline -- boy meets girl, boy saves girl, blah blah blah (CLICHE #2)
The inability to save at any time, rather you can only save at certain intervals (as the game designates)
The idea of an "Arabian prince" (since when did a man of the Middle East come back into vogue as a "hero"? Certain North Americans aren't even comfortable flying with them if they're on the same airplane!)
The setting of the story is too Aladdin (a la Disney) which makes the game too "kiddie" for me

In all, this is a good game for people who like puzzles AND people who think that fighting games are the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Do Not Buy it! Rent it, or borrow it if you want to play it

As stated in title, Why? The game does looks great but does not justify the dollar u spent on it. Trust me, the graphic looks great but there is some problem with cameras, fighting, and pointless story. This console save point has go to stop, many times u will find yourself repeating the same things over and over -- lame way to make the game longer to play. What's wrong with the ability to save everywhere?

The female character is pointless and useless. She helps the enemy by screaming for help then got killed and then game over.

To make matter worse, Ubi's forum has a moderator called Freakishly. This guy has an attitude problem. if you criticize the game in any way he locks your post. Gee so we are supposed to say how wonderful the game is even if its not? A guy complained how the game didnt support Nvidia 440, he locked the post and said "go read the label next time". Hey, the guys just wasted 50 buck for a game that they couldnt play nor return. He is a jerk, I supposed people at Ubi are like him.

Again DO NOT BUY THE GAME. Not recommended!

Very well done

This game is pretty darn good, the graphics are the best i've seen and iv'e only played the demo. The actions the prince makes are extremly fluid and the combat as well It takes a little getting used to but when you get the hang its awsome.
a lot of games you see will have the game makers make you actually sit through the parts of the game, not this one and that's pretty rare. TO have the game still be fluid in these extremly cool task is rarer! the graphics are the best i've ever seen and the game plays out like an enchanted tale. The graphics make it vwery mystic like. But most of all the game feels good! when you pull of amzing thing it changes the cmera angle, you may think this may throw you off, but it just makes it look way cooler!! overall this is a great game to buy and you mostlikely won't regret it!
