Pro's
This game is very fun to play. Has a million modes with replay value. Nice scenery. The shading/lighting effect needs to be seem to believed. The graphics rival that of crash & burn. (Meaning they are great) The cops are relentless.

Cons. I was disapointed in the speed of the cars. In MC2 you knew you were going 100 mph. In this game going 100 feels like your going 50. This really disturbed me. Nothing feels better then having the feeling you are driving at incredible speeds. The slow motion piece when you wreck gets redundant very quickly & spoils the intensity of the game. It was cool to watch a few times but really slows down the game in MO. Ofcourse this effect works great when doing jumps. Lasty, I didn't like the controls. Maybe the physics were to authentic for me.. I prefer a arcade feel instead of playing a sim style control..

Still a great game.. 8/10

I have this game and it is very good graphics and slow-motion air jumps. You can pursue speeders as a cop and become an illegal street racer. Everything is good except a few things. The controls (turning) are HORRIBLE! And the game play freezes.

Realistic Simulation - 10
Fun - 10 !
I would recommend to buy but beware of controls.

There are so many ways I could say how great this game is. With it's great roads and sweet cars it is a must for supercar lovers. The only problem I would say there is, is the fact that you don't get your cars back after you turn it off if you don't have a memory card but thats the same with most games.

This game rocks...all there is to say. I bought one of the Mad Catz race wheels for my boyfriend (who is 25) and Need For Speed 2. He literally jumped, twisted, squeeled and hollared like a 5 five year old on coffee! The graphics are great, cars are even better and the speciall effects-UNREAL! When you drive your car and hit a big enough bump or ramp the game shows your jump in a movie like manner (which is awesome) you can take 360 Still shots whenever you want...so get an "all angle view" of your collision with the cops or your car mid-air on the mountain. It's awesome. Out and out awesome. My boyfriend loves it, plays it night and day, gets so involved that he actually laughs at the COPS when he out runs them, and flinches when he recks his car. Buy it. Anyone that loves the speed as much as the race will love this game.

this is the best racing game availble what more can i say youll feel it when you play.even if your not a fan of racing games youll still love this game.i had more fun out of this then i had from gta vice city and alot of people would agree with that.even though its not the best game(my best game is gta3)its still up there.

the hot pursuit series was fun in a sense that you get to play as the cop... the game is more realistic in a sense where the 'need for speed' won't get u to the finish line first... smart driving is required...

If you have never played an NFS game before, the time to start is now. EA has been in a bit of a racing drought lately. Need for Speed III, Hot Pursuit (the first one) was a great racing game, and High Stake followed up brilliantly. However, with Porsche Unleashed, the franchise sunk into a small pothole. Now, NFS is back with a sequal to the original Hot Pursuit, and it truly takes you back to the real glory days of illegal european racing. Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 takes you into the driver's seat of one of several European and American cars to try your luck against other A.I. controlled cars, and the games main attraction--cops. The Graphics in this game prove to all that the PS2 can produce some serious beauty--there is no build in scenery whats so ever. The cars sparkle with amazing effects including shadows of trees on the paintjobs. Other effects include falling weather, kicked up dust, tumbleweeds and more--all come with only a little bit of slowdown...every once in a while that is. The Controls are easy to learn and only take about two laps to get completely used to. The Camera never spaces out, spare the momments when you're jumping and the camera pans around your car. New features include a panning camera to check out your surroundings and damage, as well as a flame that fires ahead to show police road blocks, squad cars, or even just what directions the road takes ahead. The Sound is simply amazing. The music trax, though a little short, are winners, while effects and engines make you feel as though gasoline is pumping through your veins. The A.I. in the game has obviously taken on a few adjustments. The other cars know when it's time to block you, or to push you off the road. Also, there is no consistancy in the route other cars will take around the track, which makes it feel like you are neck and neck with real human racers. So will you have fun with this game. YES! The game offers fun for racers and non-racers alike. Everyone will find a function in the game that they like, and nobody will be dissapointed with the racing excitement that the game offers. Get this game now.

This is a great game. If you are looking for a racing game, but don't know which one, pick this one. It has two modes:
Hot Pursuit: race against the cops and against other people or you can even be the cops and pull over the road racers.
World Racing: Your normal everyday racing mode with AWESOME cars.
Both modes have a championship event tree. each event tree is like a tournament bracket, but if you lose you are not out. you just keep trying. each event (when you win it) will lead to another event with different challenges and different cars and courses to unlock. drive great cars such as the Lambourghini Murcielago, the Dodge Viper, the Mercedes Benz CLK-GTR, the McLaren F1, and so many more cars with different challenges to unlock them. As you're racing you even get great songs such as "People That We Love" by Bush, "Keep It Coming" by Uncle Kracker, and more songs.
