Need for speed hot pursuit 2 is the best racing game I have ever played. The graphics are amazing, the cars are really realistic. I don't care that there is no cheats but I thought the playstation 2 game was better than the xbox game and I reccomend buying this super game. some people think this game is crap but I disagree it is the best and most realistic game ever!!!!

Forget the few neg reviewers, this game rocks. It is a must have for the racing fan. It is not a technical racing game like GT3, it is a racing game for speed junkies. Race at high speed on the edge of tire adhesion is a blast. Forget Formula One titles braking down to 30 mph to make a stupid granny turn. Not in NFS, its all out racing!
If your the "weave in and out of traffic type with the pedal to the medal and the radio blasting then this game is for you!"
If your some Arie Luyendyke technical racing guru then get a hohum F1 title and practice your granny turns.

This racing part of the game is awesome, no denying it, but this isn't truly a review, it's a warning. It's about the worst thing to happen to a racing game to me, forever. It is undoubtably the worst soundtrack that I have ever heard ... Purchase at your own risk. I recommend a CD Player nearby at all times.
Grnd theft auto mixed with Burn out :-)

This is a game were you still race cars but U also have to get away from the coppers [still racing others] You can also play 2 players with 1 being the cop or both be racers. you can unlock all or the cop cars and racers.

If you are looking for a great racing game this is definitly it! It is not only great as in fun but also great as in great graphics, great realatism.The other great thing about this game is that any one in the family can play it!I highly recommend this game and it is for sure one of the best racing games ever!

This game is just so good its hard to describe. I love the tracks and the cars are just so awesome!! Hot pursuit mode is also really cool and I love when the police use the helicopters to try to catch you. If you want real action racing get this game!!!

Do not listen to all of the great reviews this game has been given. The concept to this game is great. The devolpers just didn't carry through. The game is just plain boring. All of the courses are very baren. The cops do the same thing every time. The graphics are great and the physics are great, but there is just no fun in this game after a couple days playing it. I know the game looks very appealing but save yourself and do not buy it. I do recomend renting it though. By doing that, the game will be lots of fun since there is absolutely no replay value to the game after a while.

I'm not a huge gamer, so my PS2 collection is really a few hand-picked favorite titles that I got only because I foresee myself playing them for years to come. This is definitely one of them....already a fan of the car-racing game genre (but disappointed in most titles to date), NFS-HP2 impresses the hell out of me with its gameplay, graphics, sound, and driving feel. It is so (expletive) cool to get in a car and have the car actually perform the way the real ones do....oversteering, turning radius, the physics of acceleration around a curve, etc., are all frightfully real. Plus, the graphics and environment variability (sunlight, weather, shadows, depth, horizon lines, etc) are equally amazing. A little bummed that you have to go through several challenges to unlock the coooler courses, but what the hell...the challenge is plenty of fun. My only complaint, if there could possibly be one, is the shortage of music, or just maybe the redundancy of it. Playing the same race should randomly pick different music, and perhaps have included more selections. But overall, this game is a sh*&load of fun and will continue to be as long as you own it.

The original NFS:HP on the PS1 was extremely addictive. So much so, I almost got written up for tardiness at work over it. NFS:HP2 is the original on overdrive. This series was meant for the PS2 and higher end platforms.
If you love arcade racers, with the added bonus of running from or being the law, then you'll love this game.

This game has lived up to its expectations. Must have for any racing fan or anyone who likes sports cars. Two player mode has changed little from the last NFS game but it is still if extremly fun!
