I'm still waiting for the entire trilogy EA....

First off, this was the one game during 2004 that was worth playing over, and over, and over again; the replay value was amazing! The only problem I had with the game was the annoying camera angle, which allowed for some enemies to get some cheap shots on you from behind. And secondly, Ea said that they would release a game covering all three movies....Where is it?!?! O yeah... This game was great btw

This game is another Hack'n'Slash game, is pretty annoying. It has no story at ALL! Me, as a LoTR fan, find this very stupid.

The game is about just killing thousands of enemies and, sometimes, pushing buttons in the right time.

The few things I like about this game is the Pelennor Fields stage, there's still thousands of enemies, but you have a much larger area to run around and kill all the enemies; you'll also have to climb of to the cliffs to shoot at the Mamukil and bring them down (which, at the beginning, can be very hard). I also like the fact that you can play with all the characters from the Fellowship and the "combo buying system" is quite unique and cool, as you kill enemies you win points that you can use to buy new movements to the characters but is not hard to master all the characters.

Gandalf spells sucks a lot, they could have made lots of more cool spells with more visual effects and so on.

But the worst of this game is the Barad-Dûr level, Jesus... I cannot believe what they did... Can you imagine a hobbit beating up hundreds of orcs??? Yeah, neither do I. The final level sucks a lot also; you are ate Moria Gates in a 5m diameter circle while thousands of enemies just keep coming until the Nazgûl comes and you beat them more easily than you beat up the thousands of enemies... The Nazgûl are so lazy and easy I cannot believe!

The graphics are good and the sound is also ok. Gameplay sucks, just pressing over and over one or two buttons.

In resume:

*Buy this game if:

-You want to have the whole series of LoTR in your shelf,
-You like Hack'n'Slash style games,
-You'll do anything to have anything that haves an LoTR label on it,
-You have lots of money.

*Do not buy if:

-You expect a good and solid game with some story,
-You liked the first LoTR - FoTR game,
-You didn't liked the LoTR - TT game,
-You're a strict fan of LoTR.

Best LOTR game!

I'll make it short...One of the best games I own, great graphics and sound, doesn't get old...Plain brilliant! It improves on the two towers and its waaaay better than the third age.You get tons of characters to chose from once you beat the game, and I've played it over and over again to level up all the characters! If you want a Lord of the Rings game this is definetly the best one.

Awesome!

This game is one of the best. It has amazing graphics and great sound. The movies flow straight from film to game. The scenes are a great addition. They provide a exciting preperation for the next mission. Overall, I think this is one of the best games.

An entertaining game

Its time someone sat back and made a good honest review of this game. The one word i can think to describe it is: entertaining. Which is both good and bad. As far as graphics and controls and stuff its pretty good. but where gameplay is concerned it is pretty lame. The game is pretty much revolved around mashing in the A button (X for ps2). Although there are many characters, they have pretty much the same combat styles( A BUTTON!!!!).The best part of this game is most definatley the coop mode. ( a definite improvement over the two towers game.) There is nothing more fun than sitting down with a friend and laughing at all the cheesy glithches and combos. One final thought: the game is surpringly easy. (PRESS A!!!!!!)It is Also extremlry short and hardly follows the storly line of return of the king. Anothert final thought: if tou have not yet beaten the game you will have to watch all of the cinematics before each level. These are so long and boring its like watching all three movies before you even get to play!

Challenging but fun

This is really fun! It is hard at first but as you get better moves it is easier. It is fun(and in some places a little boring especially when you fight gollum.) At the end you unlock players and go to any level. You do that for some time and then you get tired of the game. Overall Really great game that is awesome for LOTR fans.

this game is awsome. it was challenging and hard. its really cool how you can use your points from the level you beat and buy upgrades. i like the coopmode and i beat almost all of it with a friend. i just dont like the fact that after you beat the game it gives the cheat codes and then its not that fun anymore exept for the invincible code lets kids who arent that good, first time or just a little brother or sister who just sohappens to want to play, trust me i have 4 of them. the graphics are awsome and blood is very hard to see thanks to the darkness of each level. the game is very close in relationship with the movie which some games dont. i think this game is really for kids 11 and up. you might make acceptions for kids that are trustworthy. i really think this game ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome!

Hey, I'm a hard-core LOTR fan, so I guess i'm a little biased. Still, I've got to say, I love this game! Sure, the camera angles can get a little annoying and the game has little replaying value, but it's quite fun, while it lasts. It is also quite difficult. The Wall of Minas Tirith level really took me a while. Still, I enjoy playing this game. Back to limited replay value: this is a pretty repetitive game. To put it simply, it's all the same, kill kill kill. Orcs, Trolls, Ringwraiths, it's all fighting. Still, if you want a great game with nice graphics, plenty of action, and stunningly-rendered scenery, give this game a try!

Sweet!!!!!!

I got this game because my freind recommended it. I've almost beat it. I just have to beat the levels after the last. I know that sounds confusing but its true. Brilliant swordplay!! Some music from the movies. It pretty much follows the Return of the King. Not totally. But, all in all, if you're a LOTR junkie, this is your game.

Well, at least this is better than Third Age!

Imagination! That is the thing that is missing in games today. Oh, that's right. Back to writing! Like I said in my review of Lord of the Rings: Third Age, the thing that EA is not using enough of is imagination. Note that people! Lord of the Rings as far as I know has not had a good enough amount of thought put into it. It seems to me that they just like to throw these games out on the market just to make money. The graphics in the game have had quite a bit of tinkering done on it since the last game. Some of the characters in this game like Gimli and Legolas have had a much deserved makeover in detailing. But don't let that fool you! There is some more problems, like the chainmail links look as if somebody took a pencil to it and drew it. Another thing that is wrong is that the lips in the game when the voice acting comes in are not, I repeat, are not moving! I mean, it is pretty stupid! The good things about this game is the music {done by Howard Shore} and the tons of combos you can do. But thats about it! The physics in the game are worked out better than they were in the Lord of the Rings: Two Towers, but it should be worked out even further. Oh, and another thing, this game has limited replayable value in it. But like my title says I think this game is much better than Third Age {the throw on game}. So don't think this review is all about criticism. Lets call it constuctive criticism. Over all I say buy this game over Third Age. So there you are! That's my review. Remember: "Be a customer. Not a consumer! Period."- Jake Smithers
