I'm still waiting for the entire trilogy EA....

First off, this was the one game during 2004 that was worth playing over, and over, and over again; the replay value was amazing! The only problem I had with the game was the annoying camera angle, which allowed for some enemies to get some cheap shots on you from behind. And secondly, Ea said that they would release a game covering all three movies....Where is it?!?! O yeah... This game was great btw

Return of the King Review

This game, like the movie, is cool beyond belief. It's a lot like last year's The Two Towers, except it's lots more fun this time. There are six playable characters, plus three hidden heroes. It has much imporved graphics with a better combo system and a very interactive environment. The objective is to hack and slash everything you see is a lot more fun than you'd think. This game is a lot more fun than The Two Towers and also a lot harder. There is absolutely no reason to have a console, except to play this game.

A Great Mulit-Player Game

I found Return of the King to be a great game. It is loads of fun in multi-player mode. Graphics are top-notch and the all the scenes draw you in. The game can be very challenging, and does take time to beat. The best part of the multi-player mode is that after solving the game, you can choose any of the characters and replay any level. After solving the game I continue to play it. This is a game that will take a long time to get old. It reflects the movie well and like i said before the graphics are outstanding.

better but not the best

The two towers was a great game and the return of the king is better!!! This game has alot of stuff that we wanted in the two towers like co-op play, better graphics, more interactive enviorments, and more playable characters. This is a blast; but two tower vetss will have to get used to little stuff like the more ironed out gameplay(you'll get used to it in a day or two). Dont worry about this game spoiling the movie for you because it contains very little video clips. This game packs a ton of extra features including two bonus levels and three secret characters. The only down side is that it did not pack bigger moments like it promised(the black gate level wasen't that good). Overall a extremely great game that you could play for months.

When I saw the movie the return of the king I thought that it was excellent. Later that day I had gone to my friends house. We played this game all day. I played as legolas and he played as strider. In about half an hour we had beaten many levels. In one of the levels we had to defeat a bunch of dead people. It was really fun. after that we had to defeat a bunch of trolls. The game was really fun but eventually it got boring. Because in just about every level you have to defeat orc upon orc upon orc upon orc. For some reason I didn't get really bored until the third level we had played that day.On that final level we had to defeat sixty of these really annoying guys with shieilds. We still didn't beat that level. In that level not only were there those guys that I just explained but like one million orcs. The game isn't to good with just one player. It's much better with multi-player. The players absolutely stink when they do not have very high levels. The players are much better with high levels. Also every time you play a new level you have to see a clip. They are really boring. One more thing that I love about this game is the multiple powers that you can get. I had one power that made it look as if I was signaling a plane. This game is very fun and exciting. Athough this game gets boring I will still give it a five out of five for a rating. If you love action-adventure then you will love this game!

Pretty Bad...

At first, being able to choose almost the entire Fellowship is pretty cool. The first 3 levels are wut Two Towers mainly was, challenging, but not hard. Once you beat Path to Isengard, Path of the Wizard (Gandalf's levles) are brutal. The main factor to losing is the inability to run straight ahead. I've had to try Top of the Wall over 5 times and still no success b/c You can only run when angled. Another poor factor to the game is u can only replay levels once u beat the last level (Crack of Doom). If you don't mind endless tries on levels and the awful secret characters (Merry in Rohan armor, Pippin in Gondor armor, and Faramir). Note: Unlike the Two Towers game, you have to have beaten the game to use cheats like Restore Helth, Arrows, etc.

Sweet!!!!!!

I got this game because my freind recommended it. I've almost beat it. I just have to beat the levels after the last. I know that sounds confusing but its true. Brilliant swordplay!! Some music from the movies. It pretty much follows the Return of the King. Not totally. But, all in all, if you're a LOTR junkie, this is your game.

Original Gameplay = 3, Replayability = 0

Although this game can be fun to play the first time through, it has virtually no replayability. The boards are totally static, so there's not even any exploration factor after the first time through, and the "upgrades" really aren't that spectacular.

I found I had absolutely no desire to go back and replay the game once I'd beaten it, and without a 2-player vs mode, it'll probably just collect dust on my shelf for quite awhile now.

A Near-Perfect Game

If you've seen the movie and thought, "I wish I could play that," then this is your game. Even if you didn't like the films, I'm sure you loved the battles. Well this game recreates those battles to perfection. Hack and slash your way, using upgrades, combos and projectile attacks. With the new and much requested co-op mode, this game is one the the best games of 2003. Still, the game has flaws.

For one, it is way too short; it can be beaten in a weekend. Also, the game is split into three Paths: The Path of the Wizard (Gandalf), King (Arogorn, Legolas & Gimli) and the Hobbits (Sam & Frodo). The Path of the Hobbit is a waste. You spend most of your time running away from enemies with the slow, short, hairy, weak Hobbits. The last stage, The Crack of Doom (hilarious name, I know) is downright horrible.

Still, when you beat the game, you can play any stage with any character, meaning you don't have to be those damn Hobbits anymore! Also, the multiplayer co-op makes this game's replay value shoot through the roof. You can play it over and over again.

The graphics are not the most amazing, but the detail and enormous levels make this game utterly beautiful and a perfect copy of the film. There are hundreds of enemies on the screen and interesting multiple paths. You can go in, sword at hand and massacre everything, or take time to find the alternate path and total them all (push a wall of rocks on them, collapse a huge chandellier on them, rolls bombs on them, etc). This makes the game more interesting and less repetitive.

In the end, for anyone who wants to have a fun time smashing their controller buttons apart while submersed in Middle Earth, this is your game.
