Whazup with the Star Wars references? (good game though)

OK, ima huge sci-fi buff and hardcore starwars nerd but i find the SW references in this game annoying and retarded; and this goes beyond that Han Solo/Indiana Jones cheat; you know those Jets that fly overhead? get high enough in the air and you`ll see that they`re X-wings! do you read the news ticker at the bottom during the cutscenes? one time it said: "Tipico city: clones cloned" and another said "international comitee offically says: Greedo shot first" whaz this doing in World War III? you tell me....

When i heard about this game and did some research on it i thought i was gonna be in for a real awesome game. and boy was i wron.......right!!!! this game ROCKS!!!! i dont know how u couldn't give this game 5 stars!!!!! this beats Grand Theft Auto by a mile!!!! and most people will argue what i just said but heres why. in GTA u can car jack, plane jack, just about anything. but GTA HAS NO PLOT!!!!! i enjoyed San Andreas but not half as much as this game!!! in mercenaries u can car jack, and u can jack helicopters too. but mercenaries has a plot to it. thats what makes this game awesome!!! and the fact that u can blow up anything makes a difference too. hint: for all u people who can't figure out how to blow up the big bridges buy the cheat weapons crate. it has a miniture air strike gun in there and shoot the big bridges with it twice and...KABOOM!!!! no more bridge. this game is a must buy!!!!!

This game is very cool, the team A.I. could be better, and it would be cool if you could give your comrades orders. Good graphics, pretty good sound, and a good replay value. The downsides to this game is that if there are a bunch of enemies with R.P.G.'s you're dead, you'll be blown up in an instant. The only other protest I have about this game is that, the map is big, which is good, but if you get lost it can get boring, if you've played this game, have you ever fallen off of a cliff, into some deep chasm below, and it took you thirty minutes to an hour to get back to civilization. Also if there is a war going on, it would be cool, if it was going on all around you everywhere you look infantry, tanks, aircraft, mortars, missiles, it should all be happening every second of the game. Not just a few roaming jeeps that get blown up in an instant. Really. After all this whining, you'd think I'd call this bad, no. It has some major downfalls, but out of all of the roaming games, like G.T.A. or other games like that, this one has captured the sense of THINGS going on all around. I'm not saying it did fantastic on this I'm just saying it did better than others.

Mercenaries, great game the gameplay is excellent the fact that you get to blow stuff up is so cool that is why i bought it. But their is a fine line between a ball of fire and an explosion or an implosion. Mercenaries takes place in North Korea with a full deck of bad guys to knock out which is cool but is it really necssary? The missions though cool could have been expanded a bit more. and WHAT no nukes that reeks what is a game like this without nukes. The good thing about this game is its sense of humor so far unmatched. although it is fun to drive enemy vechicles into the water or cliffside. overall good but if you want explosions then get Star wars rogue squadron rebel strike. Nough said.

this game is sweet but frusterating i love it i'm 12 it is really neat because u can do whatever u want it is like a SOCOM and freedomfighters mixed this game is awsome well what are you waiting for go buy it$$

this game is a pretty fun game. i brought home from work one day to try it out, and expected to just have some mindless, blow-stuff-up fun, and that is exactley what i got. you start out as a mercenary dropped in the middle of north korea, and you have to build up alliances with the South Koreans, Allies, the chinese, and the russian mob. the russian mob has a website that you access through your pda, and you can order supplies pretty much whenever, wherever, which i thought was pretty cool. you can steal any vehicle in this game, which is fun, and if you beep the horn, your allies will jump on board and you can go fight some NKs. this is definatly a good rental or a game to look for used. i dont know if its really worth more than 40 bucks, so i would wait for a price drop.

This Game Could be called GTA in North Korea. But that would be an understatement. What this game does is put the Best Aspects Of GTA and adds a ton of features for a war game. You have the ability to call in airstrikes, Supply and AMMO Drops, Pickup for the captured Terrorists, and the variety of destructable objects is unlimited.If you see it, you can destroy it. You go on several misSions working for different factionS such as the russians, chinese, mafia, south korea to build up both your bankroll and status so you can buy more weapons and supplies. The controls get some getting used to as not all of the controls handle the same on all Vehicles that can make things confusing.
As for the negatives except for a Sound glitch on the shotgun weapon , where you simply do not have any sound what so ever, there really are none .THIS SEEMS TO BE A BUG ONLY ON THE PS2 GAME ONLY. Overall this game is great as far as an action 3rd person shooter. If you loved GTA You won't be dissapointed.

This game reminded me pretty much of SOCOM. Similar graphics, the guys look the same, except SOCOM didn't have vehicles, a great arsenal of weapons, or a great story. Mercenaries has it all. Mercenaries is involved with ExOps, and you take the role of one of 3 characters. You do basic military missions; basically seek and destroy, or seek and capture. And since you are a mercenary, you get money for all the missions you do, which are mainly capturing terrorists. This is an action filled game, and it's a heck of a lot of fun, but there is a bug i found so far, and that's when you are in a vehicle and you are under a very narrow bridge or maybe ceiling of a building, you can't see anything but the inside of the building, and it's kinda frustrating. That and the camera angles are a hastle. Anyways like i said, this is a fantastic game, but like most games, it would be an awesome game if it had multiplayer and/or online play! But it doesn't matter; with the action in this game you don't care if it's online or multiplayer...the only thing you're concerned about is your current mission.

Mercenaries revolutionizes the art of gaming. This game has almost everything to offer, from blowing up towering buildings and luxurious cars to hijacking cars such as city buses and driving them all over the incredible world of Mercenaries. If you don't buy this game, I don't know what's wrong with you, but it's gotta be something serious!!!

You may think this game is an ordinary "shoot 'em up game", well it's not. There is heavy artillery fire, sniper rifles, machine guns, grenade launchers and bombs. Plus, there are tanks, trucks, helicopters, etc. My favorite part is when you get paid to kill someone. Those are the reasons I really enjoy playing this game.
