MOH:Frontline is an extremely intense, visceral, and ultimately satisfying experience. Basically you are dropped into the war right at the beach, and you fight your way forward alongside your fellow soldiers. The opening scene is fantastic, straight out of Saving Private Ryan, from getting from the beach to the bunker, the entire mission is directly out of the movie.
That aside, while the visuals are above average and the overall experience is excellent, technically this game breaks no new ground. Unlike other FPS's like Half-Life, this game retains the totally linear, go forward or go backward gameplay of the previous MOH titles. While a few alternate routes exist, most of the time you will find yourself forced along a strictly regimented path. They seem to have concluded that gamers will not be able to figure things out for themselves. Oh well. Another thing is about the controls. It is sometimes difficult to really get a bead on where you are shooting because you will push the stick too far one way or another. This is not necessarily a problem with the game, but rather the fact that playing ANY FPS with a game controller is an occasionally frustrating ordeal. If only some kind of special FPS controller were available, something like the controls you are afforded on a PC, this would not be an issue.
Anyway, MOH:Frontline is an excellent game, my own personal issues aside. Enemy AI is decent enough that they are difficult to kill, though nowhere near the "unprecedented " level claimed by EA. It's good enough that the game rarely has to resort to generating enemy after enemy after enemy just to make the game harder. The missions are varied and thoughtful, and you will not get bored with this game for long while.
In conclusion MOH:F is a game that is greater than the sum of its parts. Graphics, sound, AI, and missions are all at or above average, but put together make up an outstanding package of excitement, intrigue, and good old-fashioned shoot 'em up fun.

As great as this game is, every encounter degenerates into a button-mashing fire fight. It's virtually impossible to sneak up on enemies, and once you shoot one enemy soldier, even if it's with a sniper rifle from behind cover and from far away, or with a silenced pistol, every soldier in the area comes running.
A little bit of Solid-Snake style stealth would make the game more fun. You are supposed to be a spy, after all.
That said, the graphics, the sound, and the controls are spectacular. The small ammo capacities and slow reload times of the weapons are very realistic. The Omaha Beach sequence is just unbelievable. I'm not a big fan of FPS's, but this one's fun. Good story, very varied gameplay, and plenty of cool little details.
Awsome Graphics!!!!!!

Though the game does not take either the FPS genre or the PS2 to the next level, it is a totally engrossing game.
PROS:
Very realistic WWII enviornment. From the opening Omaha beach level, which seems ripped right out of Saving Private Ryan, the game puts you in the War.
Gameplay interaction: From the realistic weapons for the era (slow reloads, big recoils) to seeing a battle area decimated by gunfire (bullet holes, broken glass, shredded haystacks).
The sounds in the game are faithfully captures, and well executed. Each type of weapon has it's own sounds, and in narrow levels like the sub factory the is plenty of echoing.
Cons:
Enemy AI: The computer never tries to make the enemy soldiers more than clay pigeons. Sometimes they will duck behind a table, or man a machine gun nest, but usually they will be out in the open with a "Shoot Me" sign. It would be nice to see the computer attempt to distract you with one set of solders, while flanking with another set. Also the snipers must be blind, as I am able to run in the open to flush snipers out, witout being ventilated.
Graphics: Seems like the graphics are a souped up PS1 rater than a PS2, especially the facial models. Also in hetic scenes, there is a frame-rate drop.
Wicked!

Wow, this is a great game. If you have an intrest in WWII, or in FPS, go buy this game now. If this is you, then my review will not help you at all. You know you want this game. For those of you not sure, I must say, this is an EXCELLENT first shot for a WWII FPS. If you have played any of the other Medal of Honor games, then you know the quality of these games. Buy it, rent it, whatever you do, JUST PLAY THIS GAME!
Lemme...break it down for ya:
Graphics: 10/10 ...OH WOW! This game has some of the best graphics I have seen in an FPS in a while.
Sound 20/10 ...Oh man, these EA people are Gods. No one else could re-create the gun sounds so well, plus the music is quite impressive (and depressing!)
Overall 9.5/10 ...My only complaint is that sometimes the AI can be ridiculusly stupid, or unbelievably hard. Either they won't shoot you when you are up in their face, or they will shoot you through the cloudiest fog in the world (Dammit, Rough Landing...'nuff said)
HAVE FUN!

Wonderfully realistic WWII game. Has a lot of options for things like difficulty (great for an inexperienced girl like me). If you are a WWII buff, or enjoy war games this is a must buy.
