I'd say that this is really an outstanding game. For a teen i'd say that this game is really fun and better than the first one. It has many new features including drive mode (summoning, change forms), limit (many cool combo moves), and many more. For a parent i'd say its worth the money. It depends if its long or not due to the time due to playing the game. I'd say about..... 2-4 weeks for ages 8-10. I'd say to tell them to put it on hard mode so they don't get to bored and beat the game easily. This game has no blood, or and drug use. I suggest this game to any parent who is giving a present to a child or teen.
Must....stop....playing....

I can't stop playing this game, and here's why:
Although the beginning plays a bit slowly, and the plot is somewhat confusing, it gradually picks up and the true Kingdom Hearts gameplay we all love and appreciate rears its head.
One of the first introductions in the game is the new reaction command which was a brilliant addition to the fighting that keeps it from just being a massive X-button-mashing frenzy. Add into that that some of your abilities require you to use the square button, and we have a winner! Finally, I can do more than just mash on the X-button and hope for victory.
Additionally, whoever came up with the drive forms needs to get a raise. I also love the concept that skills (such as high jump and glide) can be leveled up.
Some downsides to the gameplay? This installment in the KH franchise is unfortunately low in summon characters. The four you get are only "okay,"...that is, except for Stitch, who can be unbelievably invaluable, especially in the tournaments in Olympus. Also, the stages are kind of small, and I would clear out areas of enemies before I really even had the chance to get really involved in the fighting.
Also, the Atlantica level was sooooo bad. I *kind of* enjoyed the attempt at a DDR-style challenge, but the songs (except the ones that appeared in the original movie) were just AWFUL! Thankfully, the level is brief.
I also loved the way the Synthesis and Gummi Ship sections of the game were altered.
All in all, I've clocked about 70 hours in this game, just levelling up, playing the mini-games (trying to meet the Jiminy's Journal objectives), and working my way up to that final battle, and I have not been bored one bit (except in Atlantica).
I would venture to say that this sequel is much better than the original.
Fun but too easy!

This game is one of the best games I have ever played! There are only a couple confusing parts:
1. Why do they keep changing from the characters actually talking to speech bubbles? It doesn't make sense!
2. The first boss is more like watching a cutscene in someplaces.
3. What's with the freaky little thing that you have to battle to win the tournament in the beginning? It's so weird!
But other than those things, this is the best game ever!

I found this game just god-awful. Interminable loading. Boring story. The first boss battle was bloody confusing. I played it once and will probably never touch it again. I guess you have to be a little kid who's into this type of game to enjoy it.
Fun, neat, but painfully easy and heavy on cut scenes

I really enjoyed KH1, and was excited when KH2 finally dropped in price to $20 (yeah, I'm cheap). I felt KH1 nicely mixed cut scenes with action and somewhat challenging gameplay (although not overly difficult). KH2 is almost an exact clone of KH1 except combat offers a few new twists with reaction commands. The addition of limits and other special attacks are neat, but ultimately pointless. The game can be easily beaten without them.
The main difference between KH2 and KH1 are the cut scenes. KH2 has hours upon hours of cut scenes - much more than KH1. While I thoroughly enjoyed the scenes in KH1, I feel they are way overblown in KH2 and take up too much of the game. Whereas KH1 had some exploring and puzzles (although minor), KH2 basically features you running from cut scene to cut scene. For example, if you land in Halloween Town you watch a 5 minute cut scene, then you play the game for 4-5 minutes killing Heartless, proceed to the next screen and get a 3 minute cut scene, then fight a couple heartless for 4-5 minutes, then watch a cut scene. This repeats 3-4 times and then you fight a boss that might take 10 minutes.
If you like the cut scenes and are not so much into the gameplay, you will love this game. But, if you want an RPG that offers any challenge exciting gameplay, you will find KH2 lacking. There are practically no mazes and no chance of getting lost (if you start down a wrong path, KH2 stops you and says "no, we need to go the other way"). As far as difficult enemies or bosses, there are few: I beat it at the highest difficulty level and I think I maybe died 7-8 times.
It is a visual marvel and will take 40 hours or so to beat (of that 40 hours, 25-30 are spent watching cut scenes I think).
Good as the First

My son had played this game before we bought it. He enjoys it as much as the first. Thing I like about it is there's plenty of free play - once you beat the game there's still plenty to do, making it a tad easier on the wallet.

I am truly amazed at the delivery time. Being overseas mail orders does take awhile. My son enjoys it, this is actually his second one. The first was lost and he's just happy to play with it again.
Thank You!!

Here are some tricks to beat that 1289 hit point boss the Experiment in Kingdoom Hearts 2
Use trinty they do a decent amont of damage
Have goffies and donald default shield and staff switch with there stronger ones when found or bought.
Use drive gauge to turn into one of the four avilable forms usable in this section. There's about a 10 to 50% chance that you may turn into Anti form instead of Valor, Wisdoom or Master. That is how about half the boss HP more or less was taken away in the video I watched. Just be carefully when you use it because you can't use magic or items in Antiform and you take double the damage each time you get hit by a attack. However you have enhanced speed and attack power so you can do a lot of damage in the short amount of time until your gauge drains or you or the boss dies which ever happens first. Use these startegies and heal occasional you might be able to take down this boss in less than ten minutes. Playing time may very depending on difficult settings. Thanks for reading and have a nice day.
its all right...

While the battle system and an addition of new worlds was a lot of fun, there were a number of issues with the game. The intro with Roxas is probably the best part of the game, the mystery, and the surprise of his identity. However, the problem with that is that the rest of the game pails in comparison to that intro. First, the confusion over the identity of Ansem makes it hard to believe that it was planned, the developers when they finished KH1 apparently had no idea as to what KH2 would be about, the story seems to create new mysterious and solve them rather then built onto what happened in KH1. The result is that the major twists seem unusual rather then surprising. Overall, if you played 1 you can should probably get 2, but for something that was developed for so long it seems rather dissapointing. I wish that the developers would consider the fact that the original players have gotten a few years older and perhaps a more mature storyline would be fitting. Yet, it seems that KH2 was more aimed at the "Everyone" category then the first one.
