Square Soft's Greatest Brainchild

Wow. Kingdom hearts II. I was so excited when this game came out. "Kingdom Hearts I" was considered a second rate not-so-popular game when it first came out in 2001. But people's minds began to change as more and more people began to purchase and defeat the game. I first got hooked on the franchise when my friend introduced it to me while we were hanging out over at her house. But I'm not here to talk about KH1, now, am I?

In Kingdom Hearts 2, you begin play as a 15 year old boy named Roxas who lives in a lovely little town called "Twilight Town." He starts to have strange dreams about a boy named Sora, our hero from the first game. He also encounters a group called the Organization XIII. Roxas had supposedly been a part of this group, but cannot remember. Okee doke, now that I have revealed a LITTLE of the plot, let's move onto Sound Score!!!

The musical score in Kingdom Hearts II is absolutely breath-taking. The developers of this game took a very long time composing new songs, such as themes for various new worlds, and also bringing back old...favorites, such as Destati, or Sherzzo de Notte. If you notice while your playing the game that a song is playing in the background, I encourage you to at least take a moment to appreciate the developer's hard work.

The characters in this game are also extremely well developed. Each character seems to have a distinct personality of their own, along with thier voice actors. Paul St. Peter, (The voice of The Superior) does an extremely good job at bringing out the personality of his role; as do all of the other voice actors in this game. Each character is also extremely well drawn. The artists and developers put a whole lot of work into fine detail; and also into destinctive facial and structural features of each character.

The storyline of this game is extremely touching and beautiful. Not only that, but it also weaves together the plot line from the first game; for example, Ansem from the first game didn't write those reports...Anyway, the plot of this game offers a very touching message for any family: Good friends stay together to the very end; and that you can always find light in the darkness; inside your heart. It also can teach you the power of one's heart, and that you can do anything as long as you believe.

The main focus in this game is the Organization XIII. They are a group of people who lost their hearts a long time ago, and are now the leftover bodies of their original selves. (Don't worry, it's not an Org. of dead people. -_-;) Their story is actually quite sad. They are but incomplete people who wish to again be complete. But in order for that to happen, they must create Kingdom Hearts; a gathering of the hearts released from Heartless after you kill them. Sora has been defeating Heartless after Heartless, but is clueless to what the Organization is doing and who they are...

Thanks for your time, and I would encourage you to buy this great game!!!

This is the best game you will have ever played!

This is my favorite game ever. Now, adults might refer to it as "chilidish" but who asked them?? We don't want their opinion! Well, some people might... Anyway, At the beginning of the game, you play as Roxas. A typical, average boy. The weirdest things keep happening to him: he freezes in time! Then he realizes that he can still move around and stuff. But then, usually Organization XIII appears. Obviously, there are 13 people in Organization XIII.

After you finish playing as Roxas, you start playing as Sora, the guy we all know from the original Kingdom Hearts. He and Roxas are the ones who hold the Keyblade. But Roxas only holds PART of Sora. So technically, Sora is the Keywielder.

The worlds you will come across are:
Atlantica (The Little Mermaid);
Port Royal (Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse Of the Black Pearl);
Twilight Town (Your first world);
The Land of Dragons (Mulan);
Beast's Castle (Beauty and the Beast);
Olympus Colliseum (Hercules);
Agrabah (Aladdin);
Disney Castle (Where you will find Queen Minnie);
Timeless River (Steamboat Willie);
The Hundred-Acre Wood (Winnie The Pooh - you go into it as a book -);
Halloween Town (Not sure);
Pride Lands (The Lion King);
Space Paranoid (A computer world)
and last but not least, The World That Never Was.

Just like Kingdom Hearts 1, Sora goes through his journey with Goofy and Donald. With the Keyblade, he restores light to every world. What I found out is that, the more he uses the keyblade to fight, the more Heartless and Nobodies (your enemies) that keep appearing. They even mentioned it, so pay attention to everything they say!! Organization XIII don't have hearts so they're Heartless too. Sadly, at through your journey, you don't get to fight Organization XIII. Maybe at the end, but I'm not sure.

The Disney Movies that have been made are in this video game, but not all though. All of the worlds connect to their movie. Except 5 though. The rest are movies. They are tweaked a bit. Like in Beast's Castle, The beast is VERY mean because there was an Organization person making him mad. So there's this 1 part when you have to fight Beast to make him come to his senses.

If you're very curious, like me, then I recommend that you buy it. It's very adventurous. Now go play it!

Ok, I'm here to give my honest review. And honestly...this game is AWSOME! The first Kingdom Hears was absolutly beautifully done, and the story was probaly the best out of all the Square-Enix games ever made, but it did have many flaws (camera, anyone?). Luckily for use, the game was just too good to worry about all the flaws.

Now, for Kingdom Hearts 2, everything (and I do mean EVERYTHING), is better than Kingdom Hearts. From the camera angles (oh hell yeah), to the graphics, to the story, and just everything. Espically the batttle system (although, at times, it is a bit to easy). Sora (voice by Hail Joel Osment of the Six Sense and A.I.) is still on the search for his friends, Rikku and Kairi, but gets caught up in a web of confusion when a strange group called "The Orginzation" gets in his way. They want him, and Sora doesn't know why. Unfortuantly, I don't either. I never completed the game because I got to confused, but I did get near the end. I'm completing the first game and the gameboy advanced one before I start back on the second.

One of the best things in this game is voice acting. Usually, although fun and interesting, RPG's have HORRIBLE voice acting (don't kill me fanboys), but Kingdom Hearts series is something different. Since made by Disney (or Buena Vista Games. Which ever you prefer), the voice acting is top notch. I don't have time to go through all the actors and actresses at the moment, but if you want to know about who's in it, you should google it. I'm glad Disney helped with this game, because other wise we all would have been stuck with horrible American actors reading the lines.

Well, here is my orvall review of the game:

Grapics: 10/10
Story: 9/10 (great story, but it seemed a bit long and confusing. That's why I'm starting over on it)
Voice Acting: 8/10 (even though I just praised the voice acting aboce, it is a little rough around the edges at times)
Battle System: 10/10 (AMAZING)
Replay Value: 9/10

Overall: 9 and a half/10

Now, I know a lot of fans boys are probaly pissed of at me cause I gave this a 9 instead of a 10. All I got to say is get over your fu**en selves. I loved the game, it is amazing, and a 9 out of 10 is damn good for a game. Besides, it's my review. Ok, I'm done getting defensice.

Should you buy this game?: HELL YEAH.

We waited four years for THIS???

I am a huge Kingdom Hearts fan and i absolutely loved the first game. then chain of memories came along and i was all like, "Well hopefully kingdom hearts 2 would be better." and just let me tell you, it isn't all that is it cracked up to be.

first of all, my little cousin (age 7) actually beat the game on the hardest level of difficulty. with very few problems.
second, everyone was waiting anxiously for a long time and, well, kh2 is a huge let down. it was supposed to be harder than the first one, and twice as long. HAHAHAHA! it actually took me less time to beat kh2 than kh1.

BOTTOM LINE: yeah sure, go on ahead and buy this game if you've already played the first two and want to know what happens but don't buy this game if you're just looking for a challenge, or an exceptional gaming expierance for that matter,

Best game ever

Kindoms Hearts 2 Is Just Like the First... But Worse

Now I know that no matter what I say all the fan boys out there will disagree with me. I played and beat the first Kingdom Hearts and I thought it was a good game. I thought that at moments it really shined and at others it was extremely corny and flawed (some real bad voice actor choices). I thought that Kingdom Hearts set itself up for a brilliant sequel... and it almost pulled it off.

When I first started playing Kingdom Hearts II, I was like many surprised to play as Roxas. I kind of liked being someone different seeing as Sora was kind of a sqaure of sorts. About three hours into the game however it becomes clear that Roxas is going to be replaced with Sora. The moment where Roxas reconnects with Sora is the climax of the story and game. I'm afraid its all down hill from there.

Once you become Sora the game quickly shoves you back, in what feels like, the first Kingdom Hearts. Each Disney level feels like a crappy remake of that Disney movie. The problem is I have seen the movies and I don't really care to play them as Sora, Donald, and Goofy. Trust me the movies are all better...

As for the original content... well it all basically stinks (after the first couple of hours). Each world you go to starts the same... with the main characters wondering what world they are in, when Goofy says "This must be Halloween Town." ect. That is quickly followed by Sora saying you "you think Kaira and Riku are here." You see the game would benefit from being more linear. Since you don't have to go anywhere first the dialogue in each world has to assume that you haven't been to any other world's yet. So this makes each world seem the same in the story department.

So with that said it really became painful for me to play the game. All it made me what to do is pull out my copy of Pirates of the Caribbean and watch in delight. This game actually makes the movies better. Like with Pirates, the voice acting is horrible. I don't know if thats Johnny Deep or not but it sounds horrible. The funny thing about the horrible Disney usage is that it is one big appeal for this game. As for the Final Fantasy characters... I wish I would have not heard Vivi talk it almost ruins him for me.

Rent the game first... play the first three or four hours and return it. Trust me if your anything like me you'll be much happier if you do.

THIS GAME RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IN THIS GAME YOU PLAY AS SORA, AND ROXAS. USING THE KEYBLADE YOU FIGHT ALONG SIDE DONALD AND GOOFY AND SOMETIMES EVEN KING MICKEY!! YOU EXPLORE MANY NEW AND FARMILLIAR WORLDS SUCH AS ALLADIN, PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN, AND THE LITTLE MERMAID!

THIS GAME RULES!!

This game wasted more than 4 days of my time.

I give this game a low score because::

1) IT sucks up all of your time. I spent more time on this game than Final Fantasy 7. I play that game a lot, but time seems to go slower. Playing this game, and hour flies by and you feel like it's only been 5 minutes. ((it took me 36 hours to beat, and then another 10 hours to get everything in the game, way too long for a boring game))

2) The worlds take WAY too long to beat. especially atlantica. and you have to go back to every world, and beat it AGAIN! ((probably to make us spend more pointless time on the game)). Also, Atlantica... It's the exact same plot from the first game. Hoe does Ursala come back? ((never explained)) and why do you have to go back to Atlantica 6 times? I mean, it says "get Thundaga and come back" but why did we need it? Atlantica is all a musical number.

3) This game is ALL filler. The plot does NOT take 4 days to get through.

4) This game has a Sinomatic every 5 minutes. It really gets old. i mean, i bought the game to play it, not to watch it.

5) and last but not least... THIS GAME IS WAY TOO EASY! i mean, with sinomatics every 5 minutes, and informations bars in every battle it feels like this game was made for babies!!

I was expecting more from Kingdom Hearts II because i loved the first game so much. The only reason i gave this game 2 stars was because i loved the music so much. It just made you feel good while playing such a boring frustrating game.

Before i shutup with my bad review, I even got my sister to play, and she got to the last boss, but lost intrest in it because the game is so boring, and so LONG.

Buy Kingdom Hearts 1 and Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories Those are good Hingdom Hearts games.

READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE BUYING!!!!

The reason i wanted you to read this review before buying is because::

Now, the plot of the game is magnificent! very well thought out!! but a bunch of major flaws that keep my stars coming down.

Clips/Synomatics::: Ok, there are WAY TOO MANY OF THESE THINGS IN THIS GAME! after ever fight, every time you enter a new room, EVERYWHERE! i got sooooo annoyed watching 3 minute synomatics after every little part of this game!

Malifecent::: HOW THE HECK DID THIS LITTLE WITCH GET BACK IN THE SEQUAL??? ok, i know, but it's really stupid how they bring her back. She randomly gets brought back to life.

Too Easy::: THIS GAME IS TOO EASY! I COULD HAVE DIED! i mean, when you need to battle heartless or nobodies, the info screen says "Defeat all the heartless/nobodies to move on" I MEAN DUH? this game feels like it was made for babies!

Expert/HARD mode::: EVEN FOR THIS MODE, IT'S STILL EASY AS PIE! There is BARELY a difference in stregnth of the enemies compared to Easy, and Normal Mode!!

Worlds::: They have some new ones, some old ones, but they all suck. Alantica is all a musical number! and you can't beat it until you're like at the end of the game because it blocks you out saying "You need Thundaga to go on" or "you need to learn Cura to go on" Now that's STUPID! needing random things to complete a world! also, the new ones are from cool Disney movies, but Kingdom Hearts 2 makes them all bad. I mean, Hallow Bastion is now a CITY? where was that in the first game? and Hallow Bastion gets a new name?? that's crazy!!
also, you need to go back to every single world again even after you beat it once!! besides Alantica THANK GOD!

Bosses::: ok, now here is a subject! Bosses, at random times, are too easy, ar too hard. like, in The Pride Lands ((Lion King)) the first boss is scar, easy right, yep! but the second boss is some random plant/earth dude that is almost impossable to beat on the first try. also, when you go to Beasts Castle ((Beauty and the Beast)) the second time, the last boss in that world is soooo hard, even King Mickey helps you out. SEPHIROTH IS IMPOSSABLE! i beat Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts one easy with the Ultima Weapn, but in this game, he is like 100 Times Harder!

Please continue reading because i have some good things to say too!!

Gummi Ship::: It's Dumb. You don't go to worlds through a path way in space, you unlock a keyhole and go through a hard world and defeat as many heartless ships as you can.and once you unlock a keyhole to another world, you can just sorta fly over to the world ((you'd need the game to understand)) also, i might add that the gummi creator menu is messed up and confusing.

Begining::: I thought it was confusing and dumb, because you don't start out as Sora, but actually Roxas. and yes, he has a small, but big part in this game.

Plot::: There is not much that i can say without giving anything away, but all i can tell you is that i liked the plot a lot.

The Pros ((finally))::: The Controls are pretty much the same, except a bit more complex, and their is a reaction command ((Triangle)) Which i HATE, but it might be usefull for other people.

All In All, i actually recomend you buy this game ((suprisingly)), only because i want people to know what happens to sora and friends, and i want people to know how bad this game is.

The only thing i liked about this game was the music, and Winnie the Pooh World!

I only think i hated this game so much because i expected too much, if you don't expect a ton from this game, you might actually like it?? i don't know, just try it out.
