this game is so cool. i am a gamer and i find this one extemely entertaining. but i do not recommend to buy this game ... i recommend to rent it... i rented it and i beat it about 6 hours of game play. but no the fun dosent stop there for those who like to unlock you can unlock costumes, 2 player character and a very hard to get eternal. there are three eternals. each is on a level and after you unlock that eteranl you get to play the level with no time limit.. to unlock them you have to get an insane size katamri. just in case anybody is wondering katamari translates into clump. rent it or buy it if u are a slow gamer or dont play much

This is a great little, really quite addictive game, however the basic game has only about 15 levels, only two of which I really found took more than one attempt, yes I'm sure I could go back and try to complete them all as perfectly as possible BUT...
Basically this took me a weekends play to complete, and I really didn't spend that long on it, so for a cheap fun game it's great, I'd also be curious to try the multiplayer version some more, as I can see that being rather amusing at parties.
Katamari is BIG fun!

I love the idea of this game. You roll a ball around and stuff sticks to it making it bigger so that bigger stuff sticks to it. So simple. The music and the irreverence of the King of All the Cosmos really make this game for me. It is light hearted and fun.
Pure fun

I tend to compare this game to Tetris, its a simple concept, and when you first hear about it, you are like, there is no way I can be entertained by this, then you spend HOURS playing it. This is the first unique game I have played in a long time. Problem with most games out there at the moment is that theyt have all been done before, this game has not.
I can almost guarentee that when you put the game in and turn it on, you will think that either you or the designers (or both) are having some kind of weird drug induced halucination. After you play the game a few times, and go back and watch the opening, it will make sense, and will fast become one of your favorite parts of the game.
The music is unique, freash and fun. I am now listening to the soundtrack on my way to work, it helps put me in a good mood.
Now that part 2, "We Love Katamari" has just come out, the fun just keeps on going. The second game has newer levels and, well, thats about it. But you can pick up both games for less than the price that you would buy one new game.
I put this game up there with Kingdom Hearts as one of the Must Have games for the PS2.
Severe awesomeness.

There's something beautiful about rolling up things. The looks of terror as helpless people run for safety...The screams of distress as they are rolled into the Katamari...The pride in your heart as the King tosses them into space...
Er. It's pretty addicting.
I can't get enough!

This is defiantely my favourite PS2 game. It has lots of originality, something that games are lacking thses days. The style is in a nice arcade type, so that anybody can easily play the game. Plus, it's very fun. There are loads of things to do and things to collect. And another good bonus, it hands down has one of the best music soundtracks in PS2, maybe even video game history. Highly recommended, obviously.
