If you've come to this game because you're a big fan already of final fantasy, loved final Fantasy X, or are just looking for a fun game to play, you've come to the wrong game. As an avid final fantasy fan I immediatly jumped on this game as soon as it came out, but was grossly dissapointed. The characters they reused from the first game were perverted in the sense that they were grossly changed (ex. costumes were made emensly slutty) and the story plot was WEAK. In addition to this, I was able to beat the game in less than a month! And by only holding down the x button during all battles none the lesss! It dosen't matter why you want to play this game, be it stroy pot, reputation, or battle system, this game is not something you want to have seen on your game shelf.

Alright, alot of people didnt like this one. Yes it gets away from what your accustomed too from a FF but its still a great game with some nice story hooks as long as you like love storys. This game finaly puts a female back into the main charictor role in FF, and i think its beacuse of that that alot of people thought this was nothing like eye-candy. My self included. But as you play the game it grows on you. Definatly worth buysing. Check it out and decide for your self.

First of all, the game begins in a very redicolous way, the story seems like something more of "Powerpuff Girls" than an RPG. The scene where Yuna looses her balance and Rikku & Paine magically pull her up almost made me turn off the game right away.
But after a long time in the story, it starts picking up and gets quite good. Yuna turns on some attitude and the story goes from being sugary-cute too mysteriously.
The dresssphere system was alright, I really wished they had put in a forth girl, because it's hard to balance Power and Healing, since only the white mage can heal with magic. Trying to buy Hi-Potions with good use is extremely hard in this game, you barely get any cash at all and the Hi-Potions dosen't refill their HP with much, so you are almost forced to always bring a White Mage.
The Sphere Grid is gone - BIG PLUS!
Overall I thought this game was quite difficult, 3 players in this kind of game was too little players.
Dissapointing....

Ok i may not be the one to talk because i had never played a ff game before but this game really blew it. It seemed more like a little girls doll game. The whole movie star/treasure hunter was kinda weird and then they had to be these incredible fighting machines and incredibly dumb at the same time made me really made while playing it. All in all the game sucked mostly because of its story line.
The good, the bad, and the fanservice.

I'll try to be brief. The gameplay mechanics are fine and fun. It is a fast-paced game with creative ways of attacking, defending, and strategy. The dress spheres, allowing the characters to change from gunners to black mages to warriors depending on what was best for each situation was, I felt, a worthwhile twist on the old Final Fantasy job system. I enjoyed the actual playing of it.
I...had trouble with the execution of the story to the point of hating it. Not the basic premise, Yuna searching for hints about Tidus (the 'star' of FFX) was all well and good. The story about the Crimson Squad was interesting, as was the fleshing out of the war that was a fairly large plot point in FFX. Rikku and Paine are interesting characters. But...the essential character of all the original players in FFX that show up here have generally undergone a major personality re-write, making them feel like bad fanfiction versions of themselves. About the only people to survive with their personalities intact are Rikku and Maechen! (Players of FFX will know that Maechen isn't exactly a big part of the game...but at least here he got a rather heartbreaking backstory.) From the main characters on down to very minor characters, it's like they've forgotten who they were in the two years since FFX, including three major characters that really only have a part to play by giving advice to the girls at the end. Then there was the presence of Aeons--something that should have been impossible given what happened in FFX. In many ways, the story is a very promising idea that just didn't pan out.
And it certainly wouldn't have hurt to redesign a couple of the FFX characters if they had supposedly appreciably changed in appearance. One character is heavy child but looks as thin as ever. That hard to adjust her polygons?
Several of the sidequests are enjoyable, but quite a number of them are mindblowingly tedious. It's a toss up there, but at least none of them had me wanting to throw my PS2 out the window the way the minigames of FFX did. However, anyone trying to get 100% on the game has to do it all, and even then, the smallest misstep could result in failure.
And then there's the fanservice. The main character models for the three female stars and their female antagonist are wearing the shortest, skimpiest, most revealing clothing they can get away with without being indecent. Daisy Dukes for Yuna with a shirt that is little more than a white vest held togeter in the front with a metal wire-made sign. Rikku is decked out in a bikini. Paine seems to manage along fine wearing strips of black leather that had to have been glued on to stay on. The main antagonist for much of the game, Leblanc, wears a skin-tight dress cut down to nearly her privates with a big heart painted between her breasts. At one point, the three mains get in a catfight, in a hotspring (logically located right on top of the coldest, tallest mountain in the game) wearing skimpy bathing suits. Fortunately, most of the clothes gained using the dress spheres are far more decent and very interesting in design.
All told, I would recommend this game to players who have played FFX and don't mind sometimes radical and mindboggling changes in character. People who do mind changes like that may find the execution of the story extremely irritating and perhaps not worth the enjoyable dress sphere and battle system.
Pretty Good

The game's alright. There were a few things that annoyed me, but I'll get to those.
The first thing I didnt like about this game was the clothing...dare I even say? Yuna's got on hotpants and half a skirt? Err..ok o_O. Rikku's got on even less than that...a miniskirt. with. a. thong. with. a. thong!!! And those bowy things annoyed me a bit. (not to mention her little [for lack of other words] bikini) ew. Paine at least has pants on. And about 3/4 of a shirt.
The second thing was the Celcius. The music was horrible, especially since you spend about 3/4s of your game in there. It sounded like bad elevator music. And got annoyingly repeatative.
The third thing was Yuna becoming a...pop star?!?! No thanks. I'll pass.
The story was good though, despite the fact it all revolved around Tidus...I wanted to kick him in FFX, but I wanted to to beat the crap out of him in FFX-2, because of the fact every other word or story had the words "him" "you-know-who" "you" or some other form of Tidus. Why not just come out and say it? TIDUS! TIDUSTIDUSTIDUS!!!!!! (phew, thanks) I liked the fact the choices you made affected the outcome of your game, although this worried me in some places. I kept thinking..."Ok, in chapter two, am I supposed to have 21%? Or should I have 22%?" I liked the dresspheres, execpt for one or two (songstress mainly) and the minigames and sidequests were fun (for the most part)
Overall, I wouldn't play this game if you havent played FFX. Trust me, nothing will make sense if you haven't. Go buy it! and FFX!
FFX-2 Rocks!!!!!!!

FFX-2 is a GREAT game! The batlle sequence is way better than FFX's. if you're looking for fun this game is for U! However the plot (if there is one) sucks! It shouldn't be sphere hunter, but trying to steal their clothes back! I mean seriously, Rikku wears a [...], mini skirt with a thong sticking out the sides of it! Yuna's lost her pants, and Paine's a h_ _ _ _r! This game is clearly made for older kids. But still this game is GREAT! I reccomend this game to a 13-year-old Final Fantasy fan like myself.
Good Play, Stupid Story....

The game was fun overall. The battles were better because there was more movement. Also, one can change the outfit of a character and gain many new powers. There were many mini games that were fun. The background music wasn't all that good. The stary was stretched out a bit too long and got annoying. Also the ending made the game seem a bit pointless. In my opinion, it is nothing in comparison to the first final fantasy ten.
For the price go for it

To start out, I am a big fan of Square and have unwavering loyalty to them, seeing as I sat through through the ill-fated FFIX. This is everything X was, and more. One of my favorite things about FFX was the costume changing. At first, it seemed to me to be just a last-minute feature thrown in for good measure. Over time though, I saw the need for this. I'm glad to see that Square brought this back. I must say though, what in the name of all that is good and true do high caliber, automatic side arms have to do with alchemy?? Also, I'll never be able to get my head around the fact that Yuna's gunner costume makes here look like a bad Lara Croft wannabe.
All this aside, FFX-2 is a quality RPG, exactly what I, and many other Final Fantasy fans, have come to expect from Square. Good job, and I eagerly await the release of Kingdom Hearts 2, due out in the next year or so.
