Okay Dragon Ball Z has made a few good games over the past few years, this is another one of them, Budokia 3 naturally improves the 2-d fighting with, making everyones move diffrent in there own way, puts in new characters, and gives you a great mode call Dragon Universe. The graphic are comicy and cartoony just like theshow and the game engine not bad, I did wish that maybe there be a little more characters, and that they put real cut scenes instead of diolauge with the picture but overall I loved it and found it to be quite addicting.

I love to turn this game up on the surround sound when no one is home and really have some fun--I think it is much better in the sound effects department than the others. Tons more screaming too. I didn't get Dragonball Z 2 because I heard some really negative reviews but I enjoyed Budokai 1. I got this a few weeks ago and it really is the best DBZ game to date in my opinion. I like really fast fighting games like Guilty Gears...I didn't even get the new MK because MK Deadly Alliance felt slow to me---so did Tekken 4....but this is one super fast game...teleport rules---instantanious teleport!!!! I think the the graphics are great--colors are very vivid. And if you get the game used and it has no instructions, just go through your training mode first...no big deal--it's all in there. And Trunks kicks butt on this one...check it out.

AWESOME DUDES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great game, best DBZ game ever. In response to the Nov. 25 Reviewer: The reason Budokai 2 is $20 is because people dont want to buy Budokai 2 for $50 when they can get the newer, better Budokai 3 for the same price. BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The next DBZ game!!!!

This is by far the best DBZ game to come out so far. However, I was a little dissapionted about the selections of character. This game doesn't have baby, pan, super 17, majuub, and the other 6 shadow dragons. It really makes know sense. Why would omega shenron be in this game but not baby. Baby came way before omega shenron so you would think they would pick baby before him. I was also diisapionted the kid goku was based on the dragon ball version of him and not the Dragon Ball GT version of him. Another thing that really suck is that story mode only goes up to the buu saga. Also, vegeta doesn't have a version of him with short hair. You also can't play as the giant apes. Sadly, this will be the last Budokai game to be released. That doesn't mean the end of dragon ball z games though. Atari will still me making DBZ games but they won't be related to Budokai. The next game they will release is called Dragon Ball Z Sagas Evolution. If you own this game then you can look in the back of your instuctions book and you will se an advertisment for it. Those will not be the real graphics of the game. If you look below the screen shots it says "All Images Subject to Change" this means the game is in early devolepment so thats not what it is going to look like. From what I can tell from the add the graphics will be like Budokai 1. I do think this will be a budokai game only with a different name. If you look in the corner of the screen shot it says Kamehameha and then it shows a button combination which says square, square, square, square, circle. That how you did the Kamehameha in budokai 1, 2, and 3. This means the controls remain the same. You can expect this game in march 2005

Budokai 3 Tears It Up!

The third installment of the Dragonball Z: Budokai francise, this game is far and away the best of the series so far. The graphics have been improved greatly, and a host of new characters have been added. But the best new feature in the latest installment, is the revamped Dragon Universe mode. Anyone who has played DBZ:B2 is reminded of the linear maps and cheesy icons to represent your players on the board. No longer! You can actually fly around Earth and explore, find new skills, and even meet with a variety of characters known throughout the DBZ universe.

New additions to the combat system have also been added. Most notible is "Hyper Mode", the trigger system used to unleash your warriors most powerful moves and devastating attacks on your enemies. Also, you can now dodge and "teleport counter" attacks that your opponents try to hit you with, as well as launch rapid-fire "ki" shots, rather than just one at a time. And lets not forget the "Ultimate Attacks". The cut-scenes that display the devastation caused by these attacks are superbly done, and these attacks will usually completely destroy the terrain you were fighting on, leaving you battling in a wasteland rather than a grassland.

Another great new graphic addition are the revamped "off the map" cut sequences. These were in DBZ:B2, but are now more devastating than ever, as you can knock your enemies through rocks, into mountains, and even into a dinosaur on a certain stage.

The only real flaw in this game that I have found is the CPU tends to abuse the new mechanics in the game at the higher difficulty levels, making the game more frustrating than fun at times, and sometimes downright impossible to defeat. Having the CPU "teleport counter" my "teleport counters" 4 straight times does little more than make me angry, but the added stratum of difficulty can be a welcome addition to more hardcore gamers.

On the whole, I found this game to be very enjoyable. It's a must have for fans of DBZ, and even for those gamers who just enjoy fighting games. With the added elements to the combat system, this game stands apart from others in the genre. It comes highly recomended from me, as it's the most entertaining fighting game I've played in a long time.

OMG I WANT THIS GAME GETTING IT TODAY

This game wicked cause i tried it at my friends house, to all you fans of dbz or not a fan this game is awsome even though u never watch the show or play the games. I don't watch the show much but THIS GAME OWNS MOST OF THE OTHER ONES.There is like over 40 chars and more new stuff like battle scense or style. Most of all i like the chars and the story mode. You can find different attacks for different chars and it's kinda hard cause you have to find most of all thechars move in du mode. THIS IS THE MOST INPORTENT GAME IN THE WHOLE PS2 HISTORY. It's worth to buy it even though it's like $50. Here goes my Christmas and hope you will buy it too. LAST FOR THE WHOLE CHRISTMAS OR A EVEN A MONTH enjoy this game. You won't regret anything when u buy this it's perfectly 100% good. If ur older then me cause i'm 11 you will still like cause i'm a stinking game manic with all the system out even nintendo ds. GOOD LUCK and have fun :)
^_^!!

The DBZ Budokai franchize is on a whole new level
Pros:
-Excellent graphics
-Supereb Gameplay
-Good ol' voice acting
-New level up system(Upgrade by getting EXP RPG style, AWESOME!!)
-New battle improvments(After doing death moves you can add a kick or 2, and you can go in hypermode, and play a game of "press the button and hope the computer doesn't press the same." Nice)
-Packing 40 characters is quite a wallop of a punch
-Flying around in story mode is awsome!
-Power moves are flat out awsome
-I love fighting in tournament mode
-Collecting Dragonballs is a bit of a adventure
-This is the best DBZ game EVER!!
Cons:
-Unlocking takes a bit of a while(Quite a bit of people to use in story mode)
-Looking for dragonballs is a bit frustrating(Switching between map to look where you're going, and Dragon radar to find dragonball)
-Sometimes story mode leaves out something
-I didn't really like Dragonball GT

Finally a DBZ game that gets acclaim from bigtime game sites(ex gamespot, gamespy, and IGN). This is the game DBZ fans have been dreaming of. And it was a great triliogy that got better and better till the very end. This game should be owend by those who are familiar with the DBZ series, and even those unfamiliar with the DBZ franshize should give this a shot, because I have a friend who hated DBZ cause it dragged on for a while(ex goku using spirit bomb on Frieza), but he liked this game for it's fast paced RPG style tactics. This goes to show DBZ has reached a level beyond the level of a simple fighting game.

Peace
