World of craft ( there is no war)

This used to be a good game. Now with rewrite in lore, lack of concern for PVP and general customer service issues. I will rate WOW as a fast sinking ship that will resemble SOE's SWG in a matter of months.

It Gets Boring Quick

There is nothing "revolutionary" about this game. If anything, Blizzard and Sony shared too many notes on WoW and EQ2. Both games will not allow player advancement unless you complete certain quests. I don't know about you, but I don't like to be told what to do and held back because I did not make the right choice in an MMORPG. Why can't someone make a game where quests aren't a mandatory part of the game, but can be done and are rewarding if you want to do them? This game is all about quests. If you get bored going here, coming back, going here, coming back... don't play this game! Not to mention, groups are hard to come by, most people are soloing.... What's the point of soloing the entire time in an MMORPG? And as far as the graphics go, there is little to be impressed by, and many of the zones repeat the same structure of town, it's just in different hues. If you like monotony and a cartoon-feel to your MMORPG, then this game is for you!

The game is great, the support is EVIL

I have found that blizzard in the past has had the most bug, lag and connection issues of any gaming site i've played on. This is no exception, as a matter of fact, it's much worse then they have even ever been before. BEWARE! this game is as addicting as any drug, but the frustration level at blizzard's incompitence at keeping it running correctly will make you go thru the roof! I highly recomend that anyone interested in this game wait for at least 4-5 months before becoming addicted to it {cuz u will b if u play it} maybe by then the people who own blizzard will have fired everyone who works the server maintinence and have all the huge number of issues fixed. Hopefully this will save some people from smashing as many mice as i have over the past few weeks.

Frankly, Everquest 2 is superior...

1.The World of Warcraft can't compair to the elegance and seamless graphics of Everquest 2. Everquest 2 was released two years ago and the graphics are still top notch by today's standards.

2. The average age of the typical Wow gamer is in the mid teens,indicating the low level maturity throught out the community. While Everquest sports an average age of mid to high 20's, thuse creating a friendly and always helpful environment.

3.No challenge - The game stlye of Wow is by far to easy. A gamer can easly attain the most "Uber" gear in the game with little or no trouble. Therby characters are un-unique and rather boring. In Everquest, you must work hard to attain best quality gear avaible.

4.WoW has no depth to it. The quests are lame and repetitive. Once level 20 has been achieved, the game gets quiet boring. The EQ world is constantly expanding, new quests and items are added almost weekely.Even up to level 70, Everquest is still fun and challenging.

Granted, Everquest 2 has its flaws, as little as they are. However, its pros far exceed its cons. And all in all, is a much better game then World of Warcraft.

p.s. I have played both games. I know what Im talking about.

Warning: Highly Addictive

I won't go into all of the details about the Warcraft, but I will tell you that this game is fantastic. You create your own character from a multitude of races and classes, each with their own abilities and disabilities, and the amount of stuff you can do with your character in the game is mindboggling. From armor, weapons, magic to talents and trades, all which can be improved as you gain experience points and level up (by killing things, of course, and doing various quests).

The world itself is gigantic and gorgeous, with huge cities, forests, lakes, etc. And it's made better thanks to the online play as there are many other players wandering around the world with whom you can form groups or guilds or just BS with.

What really makes Warcraft stand above the rest is the simple interface. The makers did a great job of turning a potentially complicated game into a fun, easy to use package. I've played some RPGs that were just downright confusing and as a result I don't keep playing them. Not so with Warcraft. In seconds you'll know how to attack, pick stuff up, use items, sell items, equip weapons, armor, and clothes, and a few more seconds is all you'll need to learn the slightly more complicated stuff like making items and assigning talent points. Basically you can have fun playing the game instead of pulling your hair trying to figure out how to do anything.

Be prepared to spend some time with this game as there is so much to do and the only way to gain experience and level up is do it. And leveling up leads to more stuff to do (and cooler attacks and magic spells), which is why I can't stop playing. The monthly fee for online play is kind of a downer, but that's the only one.

Not a very challenging game, and racial selection for classes is very dull.

Let's cut to the bone here, if you are a hardcore MMORPGamer, you may not like this game because it is not very challenging (yet it is still fun to play). It is fairly easy to learn and master. The leveling process is quite quick compared to other MMORPGs (you can easily hit the max level in 3 weeks if you know what you are doing). Beside, all classes can solo all the way from lvl 1 to 60 (currently the max level) with relative ease. This may quickly bore a hardcore gamer. Some classes are more challenging to play then others (such as mages and warlocks), but once you get the hang of it, which doesn't take very long, everything will be straightforward. Death incurs no real penalty (except a 2 minute risk-free run to your corpse and some minor equipment degrade, which can be fully repaired by NPCs with a small fee). This takes away the thrill of "living on the edge", and thus making the game less interesting regarding this perspective (A hardcore gamer may not like this feature. He/she rather have some harsh penalties for being dead to make the game more thrill and more challenging). So, obviously this game is primarily aimed for casual players. Therefore, if you are an experienced gamer looking for a challenging MMORPG, you may be disappointed with this game (for it is too easy to progress).

In addition, the racial selection for certain classes isn't very flexible. For example, if you want to play a Horde druid, your only choice for race is the Tauren!!! This is sooooo lame. Tauren is so ugly, and its look doesn't strike my fantasy at all. So, if I want to play a pretty druid, I am forced to play a Night Elve character (which is in Alliance side, and that means I will not be able to private-message or be in the same guild with my friends if they are in Horde side). This is not very flexible, and it is very frustrating.

Furthermore, if you are looking forward to beautiful and appealing character models in this game, you may be dissapointed. In my opinion, the character models are not very appealing. The only attractive character models I can think of in this game are the Night Elve female and the Human female (both of which are Alliance characters). So, if you are looking for a pretty character model in Horde side, you'll be dissapointed. Your only choice is to wait until Burning Crusade (the next expansion) to come out so you can play a pretty race in Horde side (hopefullly), the Blood Elves.

Overall, this is a fun game to play if you can handle the handicaps I just mentioned. Some people like the cartoonish look of the game while others do not. One way to know whether you like it or not is to feel it yourself. If you like having an easy time and don't mind the limited character model selection, then this game is for you. However, if you are a hardcore gamer who has high demands in a MMORPG such as the challenges in character progression, the appealing of character models, and a variety of class and race selection, you may not like this game.

I only pay once!

I bought this game thinking that I could play it on my own. Nope. Once you pay the fourty bucks for it, then you get the privilege of paying a monthly fee to play because it is only an on-line game. Nothing mentioned in the Amazon ad about that. I returned the game, and Amazon was very fair regarding a refund. I think that all on line games are basically a rip off since it forces you to have to play to get your money's worth, which never happens because you always have to pay more! Sorry, I am not into dealing with that since I have a life.

WORLD AT WARCRAFT

World of warcraft will put less influence on developing your own flourshing city/army, and more integrity on a single character,sub-class of your choice.
You can be a

Warrior, Warlock, Hunter, Rogue,
Priest, Mage, Paladin, or Shaman;

Shaman/Priest=good magic/decent fighter
Rogue/Hunter=good fighter/decent magic
Mage/Warlock=excellent magic/weak fighter
Paladin=good fighter/decent magic
Warrior=excellent fighter/no magic power
Something that Blizzard has managed to do was work in minor/about 3 step combo attacks and defense stances. It's to bad that they don't let you choice no characters to play like all the different kinds of creeps. Although the Murloc creeps are in this new game, it has yet to be decided if and how you can play as them. Blizzard beta developers have had numerous talks in the month of early March about how to add them in the game how to play as them. They would definately be a SUPERIOR race to all who they oppose!?! CAN U SAY ME TYE DE! WAULKER?

motnhly fee????

To be honest I didn't purchased the game although I am a Blizzard and Warcraft fan (I played even the first Warcraft!) But this 15$ fee!!! It doesn't make any sense, after you pay like 50$ to the game. If they don't change this they will kill World of Warcraft. I was planning to buy this game but after I saw the Guild Wars (Free online play) I purchased that and I am happy with my decision. 15$ monthly fee? How long they will keep this fee after a year or so will they find anyone to pay this fee? And if they decide to remove the fee what will the players say who paid the fee till then? They are just helping the makers of the games like Guild Wars.

TOO MUCH

- $50 bucks to buy the game (OK, YOU GOT MY MONEY, NOW WHAT)

- $15 bucks/month to play the game (TOO MUCH)

- Downloading patches uses peer to peer file sharing (SLOW)

- High populated servers = LAG = death, disconnects, etc...

Sorry, no thank you.

If you are a smart person, then you would wonder exactly what that
inital $50 bucks got you in the first place.

Apparently to Blizzard, it means $50 bucks in their pocket.

It DOESN'T MEAN $50 bucks == 5 months play.
