Hi. I have 2 level 60 undead warlocks and a 60 troll shaman (all were at least rank 11), and have played for about a year. On my unnamed realms I was probably the best of my classes each time. (PvP servers only) The game is very very fun but at the same time too time consuming. I know everyone says that but seriously, is it really worth spending @$15 a month and 8 hours a day almost every day just to play a video game that is unfair? Blizzard knows only A FEW will complete all of their dungeons and those that don't will reroll as a different class on a different server to try again or just PvP to the top. Because the game is fun, they KNOW people will reroll at least just once. They won't stop till they are 60 and that always took someone like me at least 2 months to get to. That's about $35 with taxes (monthly charges for 2 months).
Its also tempting to reroll because every class gets a buff at some point that makes them stronger. Or sometimes you notice how well certain classes do against others that give you trouble and you want to switch it up for smoother playing time. BUT. Don't you dare think for a second that you can have a 60 of each to see which is your favorite. The only people who can pull that off are those who pay others to play their toon to 60 or those who TRULY HAVE NO LIVES. If you want multiple level 60 characters then you must be a loner, single, jobless, friendless, married to a sugar mama/daddy, have rich parents that don't care about what you do, or obsess over video games. I recommend ONE character to 60. Deck him/her out. Move on with life. Because doing just that ONE character will take you some months to achieve.

this is probably one of my favorite games in the MMORPG catagory(guild wars is up there too)
this game only has 2minor drawbacks,
1. monthly fees, they are expensive for 10-15yr olds like me
2. if you do not limit yourself you WILL have SERIOUS addiction to this game and your grades WILL FALL
Parents Guide:a guide designed for you parents to help your child understand the requirements to play WoW
1. grades must be in the A range
2. complete homework WELL AND COMPLETELY before hopping on WoW and plaiyng
3. must treat you(parent) with respect and havea good attitude
Safety:
1. do not do voice activating chat rooms for "those hard dungeons" they are filled with low-lifes and adults ready to Identity hack your child.
2. do not give out ANY personal info, from name(most common since it seems harmless) to your street adress and province.
i hope you will allow your child to try WoW(at least the FREE 10-day trial at [...]) but do remeber to give them rules and conditions. enjoy gaming!
Good game but repetitive and too easy

This is a great game with great graphics, but it's easy compared to older MMOs like Everquest so there are a lot of kiddies who think they are "uber" because they are playing a really easy game. But it's a fun game nontheless until you realize that even at lvl 70 you are getting the same kinds of repetitive quests as lvl 1.
Moving on................

After eleven months of playing WOW my thoughts on it are somewhat mixed. Although I've enjoyed playing and developing a character, I'm starting to look to other games like Guild Wars and Lord of the Rings.
One of the biggest downsides to this game are the other players. I've met very few "casual" players. Most people I've interacted with range from immature teenagers to people so obbsessed with the game the suck all the fun out of playing. At lower levels there seems to be an abundance of people begging/mooching for money, water, supplies etc. At higher levels other players think they're so much better then you because they're five levels or so higher. And for a game with 8 million players you would think that it would be easy to find four other players for an instance. If you want to do an instance, just trying to get a decent group together can easily take an hour. Then you have five people doing an instance that can take a few hours to get a sword or some piece of equipment from a boss that has a 25 percent chance of dropping it in the first place. And if you get lucky enough for the boss to drop it, you have a one in five chance of getting it away from the other people in your group. That's pretty much the only way for you to get the good equipment.
I was in a guild that wasn't too bad. The people were pretty mellow considering some of the other hardcore players on the server. Then I find out the one day someone was stealing from bank which caused a HUGE fight between the guildies which split up the guild. I recieved a four page email from the guild leader pouring his heart out to me about how the other people from the guild are harrassing him and taking his loot everywhere he goes(I didn't think harrassment was possible in this game because of the "ignore" feature, apparantly I was wrong). For some reason he still had to change his name and pretend like he was someone else to avoid all the harrassment he was experiencing, despite whatever blizzard had built into the game to avoid that kind of nonsense. The guild that was formed out of that one was terrible. The people were such snobs because they were higher lvls then me. I then decided to start my own guild with two friends of mine, which is cool if we were going to be the only ones in the guild. But, trying to recruit people into the guild is extremely hard as I had to pay people just to sign the charter. Trying to get reasonable people in the guild is impossible(people just to bs with and be social).
Don't get me wrong it's still a good game. But be careful what kind of people you get mixed up with and what you say to them. And DON'T let it take over your life, because the fact that this game is addictive is both a good and bad thing.
Don't believe the hype...

This game is nothing but a weak Everquest clone. The developers only cater to a very small portion(5-15%) of their playerbase(raiders). Non-raiders get the shaft. They havn't made a nonraiding instance in years. This is what happens with you bring EQ elitists like Jeff Kaplan into head development.
The worst part is when these "skilled" raiders bring their overpowered gear into Pvp. You will get 1-2shotted over and over and over. No strategy involved just 1shotting. Not my idea for fun.
So unless you like being owned by basement dwellers who play 24/7, stay clear from this game. Wait for Warhammer Online.
World of Warcrap? or is it Killfest?

First of all I am not a kid I am 18. I just dont feel like getting a Amazon account.
This game sucks hard I mean people are selling it for $0.99 that shows you how much this game sucks. I tried to like this game, I really tried to give this game a chance I even went max level to see if this game get any better. Getting to max level is nothing but a genocide of killing all monsters. all you do in this game is kill monsters and get the next weapon and armor set. There is absolutely no story . you do that the entire game once you hit lvl 60 yet you have to kill some more monsters. Well you dont have to but if you're planning on playing pvp you will get a beatdown, because you wont have that uber sword or armor. Not only that the only way to get those super power gear is to go on raid parties and kill more monsters which takes alot of time that I do not have. Once you have a raid group it always dont work out. people call each other noobs for simple mistakes, and some of them move entirely to fast for me. Yet they call me a noob because I wasnt fast enough. I AM NOT A NOOB!! Ive played World of WarCrap for 6 months with a lvl 60 hunter. and nobody wants a hunter it seems like all of the guilds hate hunters. I try to joining into guilds (by whisper/pm etc) but the guild leaders always ignore me if I don't have this special skill/spell most likely buffs. And I am not going on your crappy website I am not e-mailing you and I am not going on a interview so take me or I am leaving. And the community is filled with nerds and retards saying crappy/immature(I hate using the word immature) jokes on the general chat line. Its so bad that I have to turn it off. The sad thing is this game is very addicting because you feel a sense of power being this superman. but to become one you need to spend hours killing monsters and making raid parties. Ive seen people lose wives over this World of Warcrap. What is happening to RPGs. If this is what RPGs is becoming then I wont be buying anything from this genre later on.
uhg, this should get you to buy the game...or not buy it

I don't own this game. I played it at my friend's house and I couldn't get off. It's sooo damn addictive. If it wasn't for the 15 bucks a month i'd go and buy it right now. I can't stop thinking about it. It's like crack.
This should convince you to buy it if you want to destroy your social life and any straight view of reality. If you don't want to become a gaming geek, stay away from this game.

This game looks as though it will be a leader of its genre, suppossedly it will feature a highly refined combat system based on revising all the pros and cons of other mmorpg's. Sporting ^TOP^ of the line graphical elements such as an advanced weather system,( you can actually see the clouds pass over you and watch as shadow is cast across the land)and seamless continents and enviroments this game will play and feel identical to real life.
If you do not/can not get this game you will be missing out on the adventure of a lifetime...
Great game but BEWARE

This is a good game where you can (as in many MMO) play alot of time.
My story:
I played this game for over 2 year. I was a very well equiped character with tons of Honor Kills (a PvP score) and money (level 68 of 70). I'm a very caution player so I always have an Anti-Spyware and an Anti-Virus with regular scans every 2 weeks. Also I never used any third party Add-ons, hacks nor bought "Golds" (in-game money) because I heared that does may expose my game to hackers, key-loggers and other problems.
Then suddendly on march-23-2007 got kicked from the server w/o reason, maybe a connection problem -i said- and tried to re-enter into the game but BAM! my account password was changed! I tried and tried but i couldn't retrive my password... So i decided to call Blizzard's support team but BAM! they dont work on weekends... so I had to wait until next monday to call them.
By phone, they told me that my password was changed by someone the same day I got kicked from the server. After asking me some personal information they gave me a new password which I used to re-enter into my Character.
And guess what... My character was in a different place where I was before being kicked out and with no items, no money, no weapons... no nothing!!! What an horrible thing... someone entered into my account and stole everything I had!
After that horrible discovery I contacted again Blizzard's support team in-game and they told me that "Probably someone stole my account and password" so they where going to investigate my issue.
The investigation time for "possible stolen accounts" takes 2 weeks or longer... only after that time they may restore SOME of the items I had, as stated by their Policy:
"...we cannot guarantee that you will receive the same modifier you had on your original item. We are also unable to guarantee the restoration of trade skills, as well as enchantments or add-ons (such as gems, scopes, etc.) that your character's items may have possessed."
CONCLUSION: BEWARE of this unsecure game (even if you run anti-spyware + anti-virus regulary) because not only your account and in-game stuff may be stolen, but also the support team is only able to retrive you a 10% (yes, TEN percent) of what you lose.
World of warcraft, truly a fantastic game

Im not playing the beta version unfortunetly :(... but i will help you make your decision in buying this with the information i have gathered... Basically you can be one of 8 unique races: Humans, Night Elves, Gnomes, and Dwarves are of the alliance, and Undead, Tauren, Orcs, and Trolls, are of the horde. There are many unique classes also such as mage, shaman, paladin, preist, hunter, warlock, and many more... But one of the most unique things about this game is the skill set... You can learn herblore, which is gathering of herbs, alchemy, using herbs to make potions, mining, mining ores and grinding stones, blacksmithing, using ores and stones and whatever other ingreedients you need to make weapons, armor, sheilds, etc... This game has also a huge world, with home cities and everything. For instance, the Undeads home city is called "The Undercity" and is located in central lorderon. One things for sure, this game is on top of my list, and there is so much more to learn that cannot be typed in this review. For more information go to WorldofWarcraft.com
