I speak in absolute sincerity when I say EVERYONE who writes a review on this game seriously are just idiots. Right now, the game is in BETA. That means its NOT DONE YET. Changes will happen. You can't judge a book by its first draft first sentecence.
Oh and the idiot who talked about flying mounts and classes and optional PvP is crazy too- there will NOT be flying mounts excluding taxi-type mounts which fly certain flight paths and charge money. The classes are much more than he mentioned, and he neglected to mention some new races that are now announced. This is a beta, it is subject to change.

World of WarCraft is a MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game), which means that it is an RPG which is solely online. It is still in Beta, but I encourage you to pre-order it, as Blizzard has hinted that they will give some benefits to people who buy it.
Blizzard is by far the most polished game designer, and WarCraft is one of the greatest PC game series ever, and has a very rich storyline which is summarized at http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/story/. The depth of the story allows Blizzard to create a world with a history and create a truly immersive environment. The graphics are spectacular, and defy any superlatives that I can think of. The game is very immersive and has a control system which is far superior to any other game out there, even in Beta. The servers are great, with great supports from the GMs (Game Masters), and allow people to run smoothly in almost any scenario irrespective of the computer. The system requirements are quite low, and the internet quality is high. Already, the game is far better than any other MMOG out there, and the game will probably be released in December (dont believe them on dates, they always postpone).
Enough of ranting about the quality of the game. It is amazingly good, but it is still flawed. The most major flaw in it is the fact that, as some people have mentioned, there are forced servers. That means that people will have to play on continent specific servers, dividing international friends from playing with each other, and splitting many guilds which consist of people around the world. Also, the honor and dishonor system is still being tweaked, and they have nerfed some characters and have to rebalance them. There is also some content which is missing for higher level characters. However, this all will be done within a few months of release, and it will probably all work out fine, leaving WoW as one of the best games ever.

Being one of the victims of the closed stress beta test, I was drawn in by this game. WoW, another masterpiece by blizzard totally destroyed my social life (just like many others that participated in the beta test). After playing this game for an hour I found that this game is irresistable. Being the first MMORPG (massive multiplayer online role playing game) that Blizzard has created changed the MMORPG industry. Like many new games Blizzard made some great additions to the game, for instance after the completion of a quest you will be rewarded with experience points, currency, and/or items (some which you can pick which ones you want), wars between factions which allow everyone in the server to gather and attck the opposing factions town, professions (jobs) which allow you to produce goods for trade or your own advantage, useful currency (unlike DiabloII have no use in them except to repair items) which is essential to any character to buy equipment from a npc or another player, auction houses which allow you to place items out to bid without being online, and many many more. Although Amazon.com saids the release of this game is 10/15/04 the actual release date is 11/15/04 in which the game will cost $50 and a $10-15 monthly subscription to play the game, which means the cost of you first month of WoW will cost you approximately $65 after taxes. Being highly priced to many people I know I still say this will be the best and definately the most addicting game you will ever play this year.

WoW has the potential to be a great game, unfortunately most of the people who play it are lame. It is rare to find someone who just wants to play the game to have fun and experience the richness that the game has to offer. More important to them is leveling up and getting equipment and gold. Since most people do NOT play to have fun, it is difficult to have fun yourself. People treat the game like it is a job or something. There is much badmouthing and swearing in the PvP, and very little good sportsmanship. If you have a friend to play with, that is best. It is not impossible to find good people to play with in the game either. If you can do that and at the same time not let other people's bad attitudes get to you, it is a blast.

This game HAS to be the most well thought out, thoughouly desgined games in hirstory!!! You can have a job, a hobby, a home town, a pet, and be part of a guild either you make or someone else creates. The quests that earn you expeince are well thought out, challenging enough to be fun but not to easy as to be silly! I am truly surprised a video game like this exsists! I mean I am amazed daily during game play that some small detail was thought of. Everything around you is part of the game. You have NO boudries as to where you can go, or who and what you can interact with.
In summation, i have to tell you I am 37 yrs old and while my video game days are far far behind me, I bought this one simply on press hype alone. i thought " Ill give it a try." every year or two I buy a game to see whats happening in games these days. Usually they go backk inot the box and get stored in a closet somwhere, never to be used again! I havent stopped playing this one yet and I got it the day it was released thru Amazon. The game has yet to become redudnant or boring. I find new and exciting things to explore everyday. While my wife curses the fact that I give more attention to my guild mates in game, " Elves United" than i do her. (lol) Really thsi is one great game and If youre young or older like me I think youll find something for everyone in this one. You pick your race, your skill sets, your hair color, your facial hair, and then youre off on an adventure that for me after 4 months has yet to show signs of ending. What else can you get for 12 bucks a month online that willl give you this much happiness. I highly reccomend this game and would get it quickly! You are missing out on an adventure that could only have been dreamed up by Blizzard!

I've been playing warcrack, as it is aptly and affectionatly called by fans, since August now. It's completely addicting.
Boasting the largest player population of any other MMO out there right now, there are plenty people to play with. A variety of servers means something for everyone, and endless quests. there are so many quests, very often I have to dump quests to get new ones because my quest roster is full! (you can only be on 20 quests at a time.) They update for holidays, decorating and making unique seasonal quests with events, items, and character morphs. Frequent updates mean endless new content, and there is really never nothing to do. I know many level 60 players who play all the time! you thin your topped out? get epic items. you can duel other players, or work on a trade skill, battle against the opposite faction in Player VS Player battle grounds, or just walk around the world and try to find some opposing faction invading your land, you'll be sure to find some, as they often are!
There are endless things to do in this game, The classes are interesting and open ended, so much so that I would venture to say there are even more classes then they say there are. Depending how you specialize your character, his or her abilities totally change. for example, a priest can specialize in holy, (healing and dealing holy damage) Discipline, (buffs for the group and defence for her/his self) or Shadow (damage spells, damage of time spells, and life sucking skills) they vary so much, that a Shadow Priest is nothing like a Holy Priest, they are hardly the same class at all if you ask me.
The world is huge and ever expanding, new caves and instances are added pretty frequently, and new updates are allowing even MORE options with SERVER WIDE quests where opposing factions must cooperate for a common goal.
The new expansion, to be released at the end of the year I believe? (I could be wrong) looks amazing as well raising the level cap. Truely its a stunning game all around. Highly recomended, its fun, its addicting.
There are some cons however.
once you get your character to 60:
I have heard of instances going up to 48 hours long.
7 hour instances are not at all unheard of for epic items
a new instance is being released that will take, (unless it was a typo from Blizard) 71 hours to complete.
its a time sucker, thats the con. depending on if thats a draw back for you or not, I strongly recomend this game.
A very unstable, buggy, frustrating game

The actual game is quite fun to play and challenging. The amount of bugs, server lag, and sloppiness of the programming is overwhelming. These shortcomings make any fun you may have playing turn into frustrating wastes of time. Blizzard has seemed to put out a product before it was fully debugged and has not been responsive to fixing these. I've also known of 2 other people having major billing issues with the month subscription fees whereby Blizzard billed them for 3 months instead of one. I would pass on this game and buy somthing else.

The name says it all, its based off of Blizzard's awesome real time strategy game series Warcraft. It has all of those memorable races and ties into the storyluine of those games, or should I say after. This game is a online RPG, more commonly known as MMORPG. Massively Mulitplayer Online Roleplaying Game. Games of a similar nature are EQ, Dark ages of Camelot ect. During the Beta I found this game to be extremely fun and easy to get into. Like other MMO you create a character from several races and professions and then head off into the world to level him/her up. Unlike other MMO it has much less downtime so you spend more time fighting and having fun, all while playing with friends and others. If you are planning on playing this game and have the cash to spare, I would definately recommend the collector's edition over the normal edition, for the extras alone. Check out www.worldofwarcraft.com for more info on this game. that is Blizzard's official website.
