Absolutely AWESOME!

I have never owned a product such as this one. It is truly a one of a kind for me!! And I guess I'm not as fast as some of the other users since it is taking me much longer to go through the various scenes. But I am enjoying every step of the process. I will admit that (for me) some of the tasks are quite challenging, but I have been making progress slowly but surely. I haven't tried the other games mentioned in some of the other reviews, but if they are as good as this one I may be compelled to give them a try. However, I don't like blood and gore so this one may be just what I need for right now! And it is the perfect "outlet" for me!

Bully for Me

"Bully" comes from Rockstar Games, who gave the world the "Grand Theft Auto" series and so it's no surprise that this game is a watered-down version of the GTA games. Taking place in the fictional New England boarding school of Bullworth Academy, you play as Jimmy Hopkins, the tough kid who goes from outsider to pubescent king. Along the way you have a variety of missions and other tasks to earn money, respect, and even kisses from the pretty (and not so pretty) ladies.

I bought the game on a lark and it's been pretty entertaining. Most of the missions are not that difficult once you have an idea what you're doing. The annoying part to me was that there are about two narrow windows in the day when you aren't going to be harassed by the authorities for not being in class or in your dorm. That isn't too much of a problem since you can usually outrun the prefects or cops, but it can be irritating when on a mission. I didn't think much of the fighting either because all the combos are with the same button; really you just keep mashing that button and it won't matter. I would have also liked a little more customization of the character so I could make my own guy or something, which would also make it more interesting for repeat playings.

Still, who doesn't have bad memories of school and would like to be able to bully the bullies? That's where the fun really lies in this game. While it doesn't have all the excitement of a GTA title, "Bully" is a lot of fun in its own right and since it doesn't feature gunplay or drug use it's preferable to let your kids play it than a GTA game.

That is all.

THE BEST GAME EVER!!!

Thought it was about being a bully, but it was about trying to stop it. My son loved it.

Another great game by Rockstar!!

I have to admit that I'm not a big gamer. I buy a new game every couple of months and I play for a couple of hours a week whenever I'm bored. A few months ago I was searching for a new game to buy and I decided to pick up Bully after seeing that Rockstar makes the game. I've been a fan of Rockstar after playing Grand Theft Auto and The Warriors so I was crossing my fingers that I'd like this one too. From my 5 star rating you can see that I was thrilled.

Let's talk about the positives first. For those who have no idea what the game is about, basically the character that you play (Jimmy) is sent to Bullworth Academy where he must take classes and participate in random missions. The more you complete, the more items/social skills/places you unlock.

There's a TON to do in this game. I've played for hours and hours and I've only completed half of the game thus far. Because this game is set at a school, Jimmy obviously has to take classes and you must use your controller to get him to pass each class. Like all schools, there are different groups of kids (the geeks, the jocks, the "greasers"). You can talk to these other students (and even do missions for them which earns you money), dress like them, beat them up if you'd like, and more.

There are main missions that you must complete in order to get through the game. Some deal with certain students, some deal with certain teachers, and all missions help Jimmy become the school's leader once they're completed. As mentioned above, the more you complete, the more things you unlock. Eventually you can leave the school and visit shops and other places in town. And of course, like all Rockstar games, there are minigames galore that keep you busy.

What's not to like? Not much. It's not a difficult game to play by any means and if something happens to you (like you lose a mission or you get knocked out), there is no "game over". If you're a parent considering this game for your child, note that there's mild language and violence.

If you're a fan of other Rockstar games, be sure to pick up Bully. You'll be playing for hours!!
