This game is awesome!

I don't play a lot of console games. A lot of them bore me quite quickly. My boyfriend bought this game, and I started playing it because it looked kind of fun. I ended up beating it before he did!

The game is a lot of fun, there are a ton of things to do, and it's a really great story. Different people can get different things out of it. One friend of mine was perfectly happy to just go around picking fights with bullies, where I had plenty of fun avoiding fights, and letting the prefects bust anyone who wanted to fight me. (YES! They WILL bust other people! You just need to be not getting into trouble to see it...)

In this game, even going to class is fun.

Original Storyline And Fun Gameplay

Bully is one of my favorite games to come out on the PS2. In some ways it resembles other Rock Star games in that you must complete a long list of missions while exploring a vast environment that includes numerous mini games and side quests. I love the non-linear aspect to this game and there is so much to do that you definitely get your money's worth. I completed the main missions several weeks ago. But I'm still trying for 100% completion, right now I have 98.6% because I'm missing two rubber bands, two gnomes and three G&G cards. I really want to find those items!

But what makes this game stand out is it's excellent and original storyline. I'm 39 years old now but still found it compelling to "return to school". During middle school I was kinda like the character Pete. I didn't really fit into any particular group and had to deal with more than my share of bullies. The worst was a brutal and malicious creep named Dean. He would pick on me every day on the school bus. But, unfortunately, I was just too scared back then to stand up to his bullying - this is something I have always regretted. I left to live in another state after 8th grade and have no idea how to find this guy. Maybe he's in jail now or living as a bum on the street. But if I ever did happen to run into him I would give it my best effort to kick his a**. So the truth is I did find it very "psychologically satisfying" to play as Jimmy Hopkins" - a kid with enough bravery and boxing skills to stand up to and defeat every bully, thug and scumbag in the entire school.

As for whether this game is appropriate for those under 18 it think it is really up to the parents to determine this. Most kids will recognize this as just a video game and know that violence is not the solution to every problem (though I do encourage picked on kids to not be a wimp like I was and to stand up to bullies. Remember most bullys are cowards and will leave you alone once you stand up to them.) Of course, some kids are mentally unbalanced and might get the wrong message from this game. So parents it's really up you. Is your child mature enough to handle a game like this? You need to know your own kid and make a decision based on that.

The graphics, sound and other aspects of the game are all excellent. But for me the most important is always the fun factor and for me this game ranked among the most fun I have ever played. Highly recommended to all adults and any kids who are mature enough.

Great Game!! Fun for girls too!

Usually all games are targeted to girls but this was one that I (a girl of 11) can enjoy. The plot line is interesting. I haven't finished because my PlayStation 2 broke (it was very very OLD) but, from what I have gathered it's great game. I think it's great for guys and girls. I would highly recommend this game it's great for relaxing and playing for more than 3 hours. It's PERFECT!!!

Instant classic.

This is a quite interesting game;thou a lot of people have been saying it brings back terrible memories for people that have been bullied;but I think that is boring B.S.Ive been bullied mercifully all of my life(for being a nerd with to much time on his hands, and playing Dungeons and Dragons, and all of my friends being elves, gnomes,or dwarfs)but in this game you aren't the bully, you conquer the bullies and later become the save the school and stop the factions from fighting and become there leader. But as far as the game itself,it is very fun and is full of fun missions, even if you do all the missions there still is a ton more to do,it isn't very challenging thou,I can beat it in a couple of days without breaking a sweat!I rented this game before i bought it and a played it the whole 5 days and I instantly fell in love with it.There is a big school and a city to explore. You're character is a troubled boy named Jimmy Hopkins, you can get clothes, tattoos, and new hairdos to customize the way he looks, you can choose to be a Prep, you shop at the Aqua berry store and get fancy haircuts and box, nerd;you wear an astronomy club vest and hang with dudes that play Grottoes and Gremlins,or you can be a Jock(orc)and wear a Letterman's jacket and play Football, and you can be a Greaser, wear a leather jacket and harass girls
Bully is a really fun game,it like Grand Theft Auto but you don't murder innocent people, you give them wedgies,a completely fun, harmless, and wholesome game for teenagers and adults.

This is an exceptionally fun and well made game that contains a great deal of style and humor. I think most GTAers will have a good time with this.

Great game! Just what I was looking for.

I have been a huge fan of the Rockstar development studios and I look forward to all their games. They do an excellent job of creating open worlds with a variety of tasks or jobs to complete. They strike a fine balance between letting a character roam at will and explore its surroundings and providing guidance to unlock new challenges and see the storyline progress. Bully is no exception. The characters are clever and engaging. The story is full of satire and wit. Most importantly, the gameplay is well paced and loads of fun.

Rockstar is best known for its Grand Theft Auto franchise, which I think is a ton of fun. I was a little disappointed with Rockstar's game GTA: San Andreas as I thought the "world" was too expansive and that the franchise had traded in fresh and fun gameplay for adult themes. Bully plays much like the GTA series, except that it recaptures some of the freshness that existed in GTA III and Vice City. In addition, it has removed a lot of the vulgarity and mature themes that are increasingly evident in its GTA games. At the same time, they have kept enough of the rough and tumble antics of any high school in the game to take you right back to the 9th grade (or forward, if you haven't been there yet). Nerds, jocks, pranksters, clueless administrators, fickle teenage girls, and the occassional sociopath will be your playmates in this game. It's a great game for anyone who wishes they could relive high school and come out on top!

ILOVE IT!!

You're in complete control what you do. There isn't many restrictions, for a game. The one thing that is a downside is that the prefects only go after you when you're skipping....-sigh- why only me when half the school is skipping? Anyways, awesome game! Completely worth every penny!

Totally Fun, brings back memories

The storyline kinda reminds me of high school in the early 90's. As a teen worried about popularity and standing up for yourself w/o worrying about fatal violence. Your the new kid trying to fit in and beating the clicks.

The game play is really easy and I like the fact that time is a factor to determine gamplay. Also, THe seasons change and there are holidays in the game that affect the game Holloween and Xmas. It gives the game some variety and different experince. Cool weapons, like the sling shot, eggs and bottle rockets; things I use to use. There are also some extras like boxing matches, carnival games and shopping for outfits. Many mini challenges in the game.

Humerious experince of what highschool life once was.

Bully the Bullies

Bully is a pretty fun video game. The playing format is similar to Grand Theft Auto III and those after it. Your character is pretty much free-roaming in between missions, there are a certain number of missions until you complete the storyline, there are side missions and collectibles in order to achieve 100% completion, and you have to complete certain missions in order to open new areas of the game.

The main premise is that you play a tough kid named Jimmy Hopkins who has been dumped at Bullworth Academy by his mom and brand new (rich) step-dad while they go on their honeymoon...for a year. While at Bullworth, you quickly discover that there are very divisive cliques throughout the school. You have the jocks, the preps, the nerds, the greasers, and the townies. You just want to get on the good side of all of them and get them all to stop fighting so your school experience goes smoother. All of this while trying to pass your classes and not get kicked out of the school.

This objective is somewhat hard to complete, however, because of sociopathic nut job named Gary. Gary's sole mission is to improve his standing in society and to piss on everybody else. It's his opinion that nobody is smarter than him and nobody is better than him. Everybody is there simply for his amusement, like chess pieces on a playing board.

So your ultimate goal is truly to defeat Gary. Once you defeat Gary and make nice with the leaders of the major cliques, your time at Bullworth is much simpler.

I haven't hit 100% completion yet, but I did complete the storyline at about 76% completion. Now I'm finishing all the bike and go cart races, and I'm trying to find the last of the G&G cards, rubber bands, and lawn gnomes. This can get a little tedious once you've passed all the classes and completed the storyline, so I would suggest getting a walkthrough that lists the locations of collectibles so you can make sure you collect them all in between missions. If you want 100% completion, that's the best way to get it.
