The game works on XP

If you tried to play the game and you got the message: 'EngineStart Application has encountered a problem and needs to close'

Just do this...

1. Go to the directory containing the application. This directory is located in "Program Files". For the first edition of Millionaire, this is "Program Files\Disney Interactive\Who Wants To Be A Millionaire". For the 2nd edition of Millionaire, this is "Program Files\Buena Vista Interactive\Who Wants To Be A Millionaire 2nd Edition".
2. Look for a directory called "jre". Go into it.
3. Look for a directory called "bin". Go into it.
4. Look for a file called "symcjit.dll". Delete this file.

I purchased this with very little information about which version it was and I took a chance it was later than the one I already owned. BAD DECISION! I already have 2nd Edition and wanted one more updated and this one did not have anything identifying which edition it was. It is pretty much the same as the 2nd Edition. Same questions/answers.

There should be more information relating to the game and which version it is.

Unfortunately, it can not be returned once opened and there was no way to tell before opening it.

Fun, repeative, annoying

This game sounded good, but wasn't. the questions repeat so much. I played 3 times and had the same question asked each time. Regis is so annoying. His comments can be mean and when we don't answer the fastest finger question the game shuts off and we have turn it back on and watch the opening credits , wich you can't skip. It's fun (for a couple of nights),but not for long. Buy it if you like the show and have nothing else to do, but otherwise save the $$$ or wait for a new version to come out because they rushed this one.

Who Wants to Be Dissapointed?

Since this game was developed by Jellyvision, and since I run the only website about their You Don't Know Jack games (I don't know if Amazon let's you post URLs) I was looking forward to this title. Let's just say that, it was a dissapointment. The questions repeated ad nauseum, the opening 5 questions, which are supposed to be really easy, were real tough, and Regis didn't really appear in the game. His voice just popped in from time to introduce the next question, but he doesn't actually read the questions. (And he seemed a bit more sarcastic than usual.)

Basically, this game has the soul of Jack but it's trapped in Regis' body. I think maybe Disney Interactive didn't give Jellyvision a lot of time to get this out the door, but here's hoping that they learned from their mistakes.

For $1 Million- Who wants to play this game?

Answer: No one. This game was a gift to my family and we only played it a few times, and then knew this game was NOT Disney quality. They rushed the game out while the show was at an all-time high, without working out the bugs. On the fastest finger question, if you get it wrong, Regis shuts off the game. The game takes almost 10 minutes for it to come on. You don't have to be a millionaire to know not to buy this game.

It would have been fine...it just didn't work!

Now I have nothing against the TV show. Tis game has a fastest-finger question. Me and my brother tried to do a F-F question. When we didn't do it fast enough virtual Regis Philbin said good-bye and the game went away! Fun, but has some bugs in it.

FUN IF YOU CAN DEAL WITH QUESTIONS THAT REPEAT

This is the only game of the Millionaire series that actually made me happy and actually a fan of Regis Philbin. But the happiness was short-lived when I noticed that some of the questions repeated repeated and repeated. I mean like a broken record but anyway I actually won the milllion over the weekend with help from my Dad and boy were we whooping with joy when I won or shall I say we won. Then by the next days I played it it would suddenly freeze and shut down but I didn't mind starting it again. The only drawback I have is as with all the games in the Millionaire series is WHY OH WHY don't they put the whooping sound that signals the end of the show when you quit. The most wonderful part is the way Regis thanks you for winning by saying I love you and I wondered why he didn't blow you a kiss. A great game for any Regis Phibin or Millionaire fan.
Enjoy,
Regis {REGIS PHILBIN'S #1 FAN AND PROUD TO BE}
P.S. Don't forget to head out to the new Who Wants to be a Millionaire Play It live show At Walt Disney World and also at Disney's California Adventure

Great Black Screen to Go with Every Question!

We got this game free in a box of Corn Chex. We thought, Oh this will be fun since the show is cool. So we got home and played it and it was so annoying! There's just like a black screen before and after the question shows up and a black background. Just, don't buy it if you want to have any fun.

The show did great and so will the game. As long as there is publicity for it, people will buy it. It's the oldest thing in the book.

Unfortunately I did not get the choice to rate this game lower than 1 Star. But then, that is a good thing, because my rating would probably be in the negative.

I don't paricularly like the show and I most certainly would not buy the game. Unfortunately a friend bought it and I had the wonderful experience to play it. There is just one thing that top's this disgrace and that is Deerhunter or Professional Bull Rider.

It is really no surprise that titles like that will take over the market. The computer business is being overrun by the everyday user who will blindly buy what is being spoon-fed in the media.
