It's OK, But I Can Get A Million Every Time I Play!

The thing is that there isn't enough questions. Not NEARLY enough questions. I can get a mill every time cause I memorised all the answers! Sheesh! Get the 2nd edition, there's more questions, and it's actually hard, except one question... (How many eyes does a giraffe have? Yi! ) Really, even if you don't have this version, get the second edition and don't waste your money on this. Enjoy!

At first, I was very excited about getting this game. When I got it, I really enjoyed it. It started out as a solid 4-star game, great questions, sarcasm from Regis, heart-pounding music, it had it all. The only initial problem was that the first few questions were too hard. But then after 1 hr. of playing it...WHAT WAS I THINKING WHEN I BOUGHT THIS GAME! The questions kept repeating, and repeating, and repeating! After playing it for 2 days of playing 1 hr. each day, I can get up to $125,000 almost everytime because I remember all the answers! Besides the very limited supply of questions, the multiplayer game was also pretty bad. Given, there are more good things about it then there are bad things, but the bad things are absolutely unforgivable. The only reason to get this game would be to learn about 200 new facts (the # of questions) because you're guaranteed to remember ALL of them after only about a week of playing.

"Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" is equal parts fun and frustrating. It's fun because you get to test your knowledge and see just how smart you are. It's great for getting your heart beating. But it's also frustrating because it makes you feel like such an idiot at times. "If only I would have used one of my lifelines instead of guessing on the $64,000 question. What was I thinking?!"

I have expressed my frustrations more than once while playing this game. But that's good. It just makes me want to beat it even more!

The game plays just like the TV show. For single players, you're thrown into the hot-seat immediately. But for multiple players, you have to play the Fastest-Finger Game, something that I seem to get beat at a lot. For this review, we'll just say I won the Fastest-Finger Round. Hey, I feel like a millionaire already!

Just like the TV show, you pit your skills against what the computer has to offer. A negative thing about this is that you don't get all the time in the world to guess the answer like people do on TV; you only get 30 seconds, which can be irritating sometimes.

Let's say you decide to use one of your lifelines. The trick here is that using a lifeline doesn't always assure you of the right answer! It's not a trick by the designers; all the questions you are asked by the computer were asked of hundreds of people before the game was brought out. The actual figures you're given, for example, when you use the "ask the audience" lifeline are real figures. So it is possible for 90% of the audience to go with an answer and still be wrong. Only until you've played the game do you realize how FRUSTRATING that can be.

Regis Philbin commentates throughout this game like he does on the TV show, and here he is both funny and a pest. Depending on your mood, you'll find his wisecracks after you've crashed and burned for the 100th time either acceptable or annoying.

About the only actual negative thing about this game is that once you have played it enough times, it gets WAY to easy. There are only around 200 questions total, and so they just keep getting recycled. After having played for a short while, the first five or so questions are a snap. They shouldn't be, however. Games like this should be a challenge.

But there is still enough fun in it for a person to enjoy. The questions do get harder as you go along, and your heartrate and pulse do start to rise as you inch your way closer and closer to the million. Of course, it's only a game, you keep telling yourself. But still - a million dollars, real or otherwise, is still a million dollars!

Despite its few shortcomings, this game is a lot of fun to play. Personally, I think this game should have come with a lot more questions instead of forcing the buyer to buy the 2nd, 3rd, Sports, Kids, and whatever other versions of the game that are out on the market.

Regardless, there is still enough challenge and charm in this game to play it multiple times. And finally winning the million does bring a great deal of satisfaction. Even if all you get is an imaginary check.

My mom is a HUGE fan of this show. I bought this game for her for mother's day. I was completely embarrased when we discovered how ridiculous it was and actually went out to get her something else! The questions repeat themselves so often it is embarrassing and insulting to the consumer. They should have had at least 1000 questions available. The game repeated its first question after we had played three games. Now every question is a repeat and the CD might as well be a coaster for all the good it is now! The graphics are pretty well done... looks a lot like the show but the content is poor. I expected much better.

Good buy for inspiring Millionaire's!

I thought this game was very interesting! I found myself and family members huddling around the computer to try to win the million! The special effects were great. Although I did experiance the repeats like others had mentioned.

Regis is still annoying

This game is fun to start out with. Then it gets old, just about as old as Regis himself. Not to challenging you want funpick up you dont know jack. All in all this is a total waste of money to me and my friends. The show is an A the Game is a D, have fun and dont get caught buying this game.

Repetitive and not accurate

There are two problems with this game:

1) Not enough questions, and not enough repetition logic.

2) The "phone a friend" lifeline is completely useless. If you were on the show, you would phone a real friend and you would have a good idea whether or not they *should* know the answer. On this, you're just calling Regis' friends, so it's not really useful at all. Therefore it's not an accurate representation of the real game. (yes that's bad, and no I don't have a suggestion around the problem)

The game is fun for the first 5 games or so, until you start getting more questions repeated. It's not a full priced game though, so you kind of get what you paid for.

THIS GAME LACKS QUESTIONS,AND REPEATS THEM OVER AND OVER,200 QUESTIONS? MORE LIKE 40,BUT REGIS IS HILARIOUS! BUT THE FASTEST FINGER IS WAY OFF,I HAVE NO OTHER COMPLAINTS EXCEPT THE LACK OF QUESTIONS AND THE FF ROUND.

After the first round or two questions begin to repeat. My 10-year old doesn't want to play anymore because of Regis' comments. I am very disappointed that Disney put their name on this product.

I love this game and would will make this many of my family and friends Christmas and Hanukkah gift. When the new version comes out (which I bet is already in the works)I will buy the new one because it will have more questions and maybe some new things. I think they need a Mac version. Buy it! You will like it! Trust in me!
