This game isn't the best like vice city or those games. YOu should get it but if you want the best game wait for the new grand thef auto which i insure will be much better. this game is short and its not worth $50 if its on sale then buy it but dont buy it for 50 dolars. THis game has bad driving skills. If your on a street a car wont stop they will just hit you and that brings down your health which isnt a good thing. This game isnt awful but its not the ultimate either. you should buy this game cause it is good since you could drive around. The cars are good but the place isnt, you cant go in any bulding and they look fake like they were in driver1 & 2. so the graphics arn't so good but still buy it cause its better than those other games.

True Crime: Streets of LA has been compared to the Grand Theft Auto series, but in reality, this game couldn't be farther from it. True Crime doesn't break any new barriers with its gameplay, but it does offer some unique options. The best part of the game, in my opinion, are the optional street crimes that can be solved while rebel cop Nick Kang is cruising around the streets of LA. These crimes offer the most options involved in the game's often muddled and routine missions. Nick Kang himself doesn't offer the true badass image the game wants him to have, which hurts this type of game. The story itself is the weakest part of the game. It's so confusing that by the fourth mission, I really had no idea what was going on, nor did I care. The ability to skip certain missions and have it affect the ending of the game is a great concept, but it's unfortunate it's wasted in this mess. True Crime: Streets of LA offers great abilities in the often routine gaming experience of shoot 'em up storytellers, but in the end, falls short.

Pretty good but really short...

The game was great and I loved the huge city and limits, you can go anywhere in LA and that was probably the only thing good about it. I rented it, beat it in five days without using cheats or even a strategy guide. Beat all the levels, even the alt endings. The only part I liked was the level where you just drive around doing whatever you want, the only problem is that it takes forever to become the bad guy and you can't just have fun once in a while by trying to run away from the cops, but instead you are the cop, which I don't mind, but they also make the criminals way too easy to catch and it's just ridiculous. It's also to random since I try frisking somebody who was running away, accidentally frished an old lady, and what did I find? A grenade launcher. The driving is awful too, one of the worst driving engines I've ever seen. If they made a better driving engine and soundtrack for the game, maybe I would consider buying it. The only good part of the game is the hand-to-hand combat. The fist fights are the most entertaining part of the game, everything else is just too easy and gets too repetative too fast.

I say you should rent this game before you buy it, you'll probably be disappointed like I was...

Well this game is pretty good but really lame. It felt like everyone was trying to get in my way and run me over. Plus if Grad Theft Auto Vice city wasn't made we wouldn't have this game.

A cool game

This game is really fun. GTA vice city may be better but you can not compare them. GTA is much different. In true crime YOU are the cop, you are not the bad guy. There are fun missions to do, and then when you beat them all, you can stop street fights, chase street racers and a lot of stuff like that. I liked this game, some people dont so I would rent it first, but I thought it was cool!

Grand Theft Auto Or Max Payne?

True Crime is in my eyes an exellent game. True Crime has the basic gameplay that you would expect from a Grand Theft Auto game or Max Payne, either one. With more combo moves than GTA, I would say the fighting is better here. The story line is great aswell, and to make this game exellent, lets add a couple tanks, helicopters, and motorcycles.

You probably heard it's like GTA and I know that gets annoying compareing games to GTA. The graphics are average with a pretty good selection of music. I like the fighting system they have when you take somebody on one on one with you fists. The driveing could of been better and I think that's what dissapointed me the most. I like the idea of how you can kill people and be a bad cop or help people out and be a good cop. The missions and story line aren't to bad for being this type of a game. You can also frisk people on the street for drugs or shoot a warning shot in the air to warn criminals. This game is totally worth paying 20 to 30 bucks for.
