Great graphics

Cool game features, and lots of versatile characters, i liked it for the really hot upperclass townies who wear hardly any clothes but there are all sorts of great aspects. Alittle annoiying that you cant choose the name of your character and that alone eliminates the possibility of multi player heh heh,

Maybe it's just not my thing

I don't know, I bought this game way back when thinking it was going to be like Baldurs Gate..... Big Mistake. While the graphics and interface where similar I just didn't comprehend it. Maybe if they would have had a thing where you could travel to other plains like Dragonlance or the Forgotten Realms it would have been better, but all in all the game seemed... moderate at best. Like I said, maybe it is just me, but where Baldurs Gate succeeded, this game failed.

Old, but good!

Planescape is one of the best games I've ever played. It seems a bit one track at first, as you can only play one character, but that is just so they can add awesome split screens with the character talking, and doing other stuff. You have almost full control. You can choose stats, similar to the method in Neverwinter Nights, (for those of you unfamiliar, it uses a point buy system with Advanced Dungeons and Dragons rules) and you can choose class, and faction. There are maybe 5 different endings, and one of the best plots I've ever seen. It's pretty old, but has great graphics for its time, and is a very good game.
I have beaten this game several times, but it is good enough to draw me back to try for a different ending, a different faction, or even just a different party.
I have played (and own) most D&D based RPGs for the computer, and while the new ones have many more features, I would have to say that Torment is definately still my favorite.

Games are becoming Art

For any RPG or D&D novice, it takes a lot of the hassle out of playing an RPG. It also includes a story worthy of a Hollywood screenplay (or is that an insult). There is truly something going on in this game, it is only the second game to actually get me to care about the characters and story, the first being Grim Fandango. A must buy.

This game ranks with Fallout as the best RPG out there - yup, even better than Baldur's Gate II.

i must say this game is tied for my favorite game with System Shock 2. It's difficult to describe the sheer joy playing this game brings. I'd wholly recommend it to anyone interested in plot and character developement over common hack and slash. In this game, you can do so much more and gain so much more by the dialogue options, and talking things it. I feel it makes for a much more satisfying experience when you achieve your goals in this fashion. Again, a fantastic game where you feel attached to the characters, where you actually care about what happens to them, and the relationships they form between each other. Bottom line: a game you must play to truly appreciate this genre we do so enjoy.

This is *the* game

This game is great. I've been playing CRPG's for quite a long time now, I've began playing with the pool of radiance and I've tried to play as many of them as possible, and I can easily assure you that you won't come across a game like this for five or ten years. I can't even think of any game that can be compared to this one. User interface is fair, visual effects are top notch, dialogues are extra-ordinary, and the storyline is utterly magnificent & Unique -which is the most impressing feature of the game- ! This game alone is worth buying a new PC - and you won't be done with it till you finish it several times with different characters - cause you have many options to solve things at several breakpoints, and the game develops totally in a different manner according to your choices. And most of the time you'll be so personalised with your character that, you'll never want it to end. Your companions are not just empty bags of hitpoints or spells in this game, they all have a background, and they have *emotions* which can change during the game according to your reactions to them. I really can't see a serious drawback to this game - but be sure to download the 1.1 patch from interplay, otherwise the game is nearly useless. Just go and buy this one, it's worth every penny, or cent or whatever currency you're using ...

Interesting RPG

I just bought this game and I've only played it for a little while, but already I've found it to be very interesting. I've enjoyed the NPCs I've encountered and enjoy laughing at the nameless one's sidekick (for lack of a better word) Morte. I look forward to spending more time with this game in the coming days.

The best computer rpg I have ever played

This game one of the best rpg's I have ever played, certainly the best computer based one. First off, the story is like an epic adventure that slowly reveals its true magnitude throughout the game. I felt like I had just red a great novel when I had finised the game. The graphics and the music are on par with the story, which as a whole makes the game the complete rpg experience.

The only problems I found that it is quite hard to know what to do next in some parts, so explore, explore. Also it takes quite a while to load in some parts, but this can be fixed by installing the whole game (4 cd's).

Theres not much I can fault with this game, it really is that (damn) good.

A great RPG

Unlike most Japanese RPGs, there is no turn based combat, but rather real-time. The soundtrack and art are unbelievable. Filled with subquests, magical items and NPCs. Hours and hours of great gameplay placed in the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons Planescape world. A musthave for any RPG gamer.
