I'm suprised more people don't know about this game because if you're looking for a game that is a cross between Age of Empires and Rise of Nations, then this will give you exactly that:
Positive:
1.) Classic Age of Empires: When you play your very first single player game in Empire Earth you immediatly start off with cavemen just like the first Age of Empires. They talk, gather, walk, chop, and mine just as you'd imagine a caveman would do!
2.) Graphics: Here's where the game switches a bit more into Rise of Nations. Considering this is an older game, the graphics are great! They're just about like the ones in Rise of Nations and in some cases, better!
3.) Advancing: You have the option of starting in the PREHISTORIC age and working your way up to an age beyond our current one. You even go through WW1 and WW2! The ages take a lot of skill and time to advance through as opposed to AOE's and RON's where you can soar from ancient to present in a much quicker time.
4.) Animals: Many different kinds, and believe it or not, they mate. Whether you choose to gather their babies for food is up to you. =o
5.) Trees: You can walk and fight through them so unfortunately for all of us that hid behind them, we no longer can do this technique.
6.) Prophets: Beware of the prophets. In EA a prophet might set an earthquake on your town or perhaps a hurricane and every disaster is realistic and horrible.
7.) Intelligent game: Enemy soldiers know just where you're weak in your city. I built walls and set men and towers almost all around my city when I got attacked. I was shocked to see that the enemy found one very small wall that I forgot to guard. They attacked, ran my village down, and when I tried to run, they chased my villagers across the map (all three of them) and defeated me. Laugh if you want but that was not the least bit funny to me.
Negative:
1.) Difficulty: For some, the difficulty of this game might be their dream, but this game might not be for everyone. From the people that I know that play this game, all use cheats to beat it. Not because it's set on hard or moderate, no, because it's set on easy and the game is really that hard. It's not like AOE or RON where you can set it on easiest and almost for sure beat the game. You only have three choices and I doubt anyone has ever beat the game on moderate.
Summary: This has to be one of the best games I've played in a very long time. Maybe because I'm a fan of Rise of Nations, Age of Empires, and Age of Mythology, but either way this game is addicting and fun. It's a great alternative to the other games if you want to combine them all. I highly recommend it especially to all AOE and RON fans!
Very nice gameplay.

This may be one of the most challenging RTS games I have ever played, and I have played alot of them. The first 2 campaigns weren't extremely hard though they had their challenging moments, but the German campaign was very tough as is the Russian campaign. Some of these campaigns take alot of different strategy to beat. You can't just build up an army and think your gonna just crushem'. You need to build up your resources and play defense before you go offensive. The graphics on the cutscenes are lacking, but the detail of the units and buildings is quite good. The AI is pretty solid for pathfinding, but the enemy AI is stupid at times, but they always seem to have a surplus of units to attack you with and to rebuild what you took out. And the best thing is there are no cheats codes (at least none that I know of anyways) to help you with the single player campaign. I like the idea of playing skirmishes against the computer becasue you start with men who attack with clubs and work your way up to futuristic cyborgs. The bomber explosions are very cool and there are usually plenty of resources. The best advice I can give you is that if one strategy doesn't work, try something that is completly different. A very good game for all RTS fans.
I cannot stop playing this game

This game is so much fun and challenging. The only draw back is that it is so vast that a random map starting from the earliest epoch to the latest one can take days to play. I rather play historical periods, like industrial age or modern age.
It took a good deal of time to learn how to beat the computer in a random map, even on the easiest level. I've played all the AOE games, and the strategy is a little different. I found it can take real technique laying seige to an army or a town that is much different than how it is done in AOE.
This game is a must have for anyone who like RTS games.

Empire Earth is one of the those games that keeps calling you back for more. You pick the timeline you pick what culture you
want to play and then beat your enemy to the ground.Good points:
zoom up close to the action, replay value is good and timeline is BIG.But not all is gold: music is forgettable no unique unit
like AOK and some of the bulidings have the same look to them.
But if you liked AOK and played it to death then by all means
get Empire Earth. There is nothing new here Its like AOK only
a longer timeline.
It grows on you...

'Empire Earth' isn't the EASIEST game to learn. It actually has a high learning curve. And it doesn't look that GREAT. But there's something about it. All these different epochs you can play in. It is worth checking out now if you can find it in a bargain bin.
The Best RTS game(Real Time Stragety) Yet!

Empire Earth allows you to start from the stonge age all the way
to Nano age. You have control of almost every aspect of each civilization. If you get tired of the boxed Campaignes and Scenarios, you can make your own from scratch. You can make your civilizations as complexed or as simple as you like. You can play over LANs(Local area Networks),or play online a Sierra websites. The computer AI can be modifed for all levels of play,or play on LAN or internet with real people. Who ever has the strongest civilization will have the earth as there Empire!!!!! The expansion pack is a must, buy a second game for LAN playing! This game is absolutly addictive,be careful to eat, drink, and take regulary sleeping periods :-)
RTS at its best

I got hooked on Age of Empires 2 when it 1st came out, after I beat the computer many times over I became hungry for a sequel, instead I saw Empire Earth so I ordered it. I was truly impressed with this title, you can start your campaign in the stone age and wage war until the distant future (even longer gameplay if you get the expansion pack). The soldiers you have at the beginning can be upgraded, for instance a 'rock thrower' in the stone age can be upgraded to a heavy machine gunner in WW2 era. You can play from a far off perspective giving you a topical veiw, or you can zoom in to ground level giving you a horizontal view. Sierra did well with this one and I recommend it to all RTS gamers! =)
This game is a blast!

A worthy successor to the "age of Empires" series. Challenging, yet fun. Excellent graphics and music. Much better and way more fun than Civ 3.
This game looks graet

Unfortunately this game is a disapointment. Although it combines many of the aspects of other simulation games, it has awful graphics. On the other hand it does cover more time than any other sim game (cavemen to futre). All in all this game is ok if you dont mind mediocur graphics.
