This game must be the worst of the Command & Conquer series. The story are so bad, you just want to put it away. Why did the allies want soviet to be their ally if they have no permission to build tanks??? Who is this Yuri-guy? The year is about 1950, I mean, comon! Mind-control? Wheater machines? Kane are not in this game, Nod and GDI have no connection to RA2. How can people love this game, it's almost an exactly copy of Tiberian Sun (wich were good, despite the graphics). Personally, I think WestWood (WW) should finish Tiberian Twilight (sequel to TibSun). The GDI-NOD conflict are mutch better and the units are more time-made. The story are also better (who Kane is? where did tiberium come from etc...). Now WW are almost finished with Yuri's Revenge, witch also will be dissapointing. I think Renegade should be playable, but you can only hope.
This game is lame

... This game is cheesy beyond description, and I don't like that in video games. This is the first Command and Conquer game I've owned .... and I did not find it fun at all. It wasn't funny, violent, or amazing like many say. On top of that, the graphics are some of the worst I've ever seen. ....
This game was not to fun

I didn't really like this game. It really wasn't that fun for me. I used to really like the C&C games, but now they aren't that fun for me. One thing that I hate is that there are no cheats. I hate this. I really hate games with no cheats. I think games are more fun with cheats. I don't realy reccomend this game, but it's okay for the first couple of days you have it.
Great real time strategy game, but...

Red Alert 2 is a great real time strategy game. There are two different people to play as, the US and Russia. The game is set slightly in the future, with realistic technology. Some of the missions take a long time to do, since Westwood didn't add a cheat engine to the game. However, the greatest downfall of this game is that it has no map editor. The possibilities of this game are not as great as other real time strategy games, especially those made by Blizzard. This game is one of my favorites, but after comparing to other games, it gets points taken off.
More of the same RTS we have had since Dune II

Nothing special, nothing new, not a bad game, just very much the same game as any other given RTS. There is nothing new.
an OK game

Well if you like any command and conquer you'll like this. Because its the same as all the other ones. Good graphics and easy game play so if you just come on to command and conquer it fun but they really are all the same. I enjoyed this above all other westwood games and the realisticness is scary. For example when you play an allied campaign in colorado you find the air force acadamy chaple and it really looks like it. You find many other land marks as well. One flaw is that a small unit is two storys high when its next to a building. Well I guess that is realy it. The game is sort of shallow and like I said(I can't stress this enough) it really is the same as all the other westwood games so I just if your new with them, get this, but if you played some other westwood games it isn't worth it.
Command and Conquer Again.

This game is based, of course, off of Red Alert, which came out in around 1997. Well, sadly, since then the Command and Conquer series hasn't changed at all. This game just takes the Tiberian Sun engine and gives it a small visual overhawl but has bascially the same units and builds except instead of NOD and GDI it's now Russia and America. However, this game does have some qualities that give it three stars. Things like the wonderful movies and story line that goes with it, espically if you play the Russian side (which gives a transition into the Expansion Pack). However, you will find that the game play puts you to sleep after a few missions, and that in the end they're all the same.
Pros:
Good Movies
Interesting Story Line
Cons:
Over done battle engine.
Reused Missions
Same "Build and Rush" tactics in the game.
Red Alert 2 maintains Westwood's Lead in RTS gaming

I am a long-time fan of Westood's RTS games, so I might be a little biased. Red Alert 2 Follows the idea of Red alert with the soviets once again on the offensive. Although now on American Soil. It gives you a decent story line for both the Soviets and Allies, with surprising twists on both sides. However, you have no control over the way the story line plays out. You can't exactly choose you missions. They are just handed to you. Also the missions are ridiculously easy, on the hardest setting the entire game took me five hours for all the missions together. As for strategy this game was very staightforward: Blow up bases.
Where this game becomes worthwhile is in multiplayer(internet). With all sorts of new units you can take man to man strategy up a notch. The old-fashioned tank rush is fun still but can also be your downfall, because some units can teleport anywhere instantaniously and others can mind-control other units. These allow the more creative-not more powerful-player to easily gain the upperhand. I should know I've had the game for some while now, and know it inside out.
A great game

This has to be one of my favorite PC games. Despite the cheesy cutscenes and lame actors, the game does a good job of what its supposed to do: have battle sims. The story doesn't seem as cheesy to me as others say it is, and the skirmish is the most fun ive ever had on the computer(if you dont like the game, then blowing apart the enemy with 36+ fighter planes is something you should try!) Also, the demolition trucks and terrorists are pretty fun to just line up in an empty space and mass destroy(take that bin Laden ;) ) All in all, aside from cheesy cutscenes and [poor] acting, this game is top quality.
