This game is really fun. One thing that is sort of bad about this game is that you can't save it until you get to a castle or tower course in the game.

This game is really fun you need a D.S to play it. if you have a D.s. order it right naw don't bother to think, just order it. It's awesome. there is so many levles. You can never stop playing!! if you like it put a review.

Clearly not alot of people agree with me about what I'm going to say...
This game was ALOT of fun until you beat Bowser in his giant world 8 castle. Then for me, it got soooooooooo boring. The minigames are pointless, cheap, and just plain BORING. The layout is similar to the original. Overall, the Super Mario Bros. series is one of Nintendo's best... and that's the only reason they got away with this blow.............

Remember, when you were little and used to play the classic super mario bros? Or, did you used to play it on Game Boy Advance? Well, get ready for a new and better Super Mario Bros! It has better graphics, and it has cool power ups and levels! My favorite power up is MEGA Mario!!!!! The game is very fun. The only cons I have about it are:
1. You can only save after a tower or castle battle or if you pay to go in a mushroom shop.
2. The tower and castle battles(against Bowser and Bowser Jr.) are rather easy.(Well for atleast the first world since that is how far I have gotten so far.)

Overall this a GREAT game for people young and old to enjoy!!!

first of all, (in a nice way) Mario games are boring and are not very hard.(unless you get to the final boss) so i bought it, played it, had fun, and was bored in week. this game is sometimes fun but it has litte replay value. some of the powers are cool looking though. if i were you i would RENT this game before you buy it
otherwise, get MPH it has good multiplayer but bad single player, so it's a good idea to buy this game if you like single player better :)

new super mario bros is a really impressive game. the graphics are very beautiful, and the gameplay is top notch side-scrolling action. the only minor complaint i've got is that i would like to save anywhere, but other than that it's a great DS game.

Good game! Reminds me of old times ...

it is a very good game. a lot like the original Mario Bros. for the first Nintendo system. the levels look very similar to the first mario game. the difference is that mario has more abilities than he did in the original game and the graphics are pretty good. he can jump a lot higher, he can store an item for later use, and jump of walls to reach higher places. the items are cool too. there is one mushroom that makes you very big and you can crush things. another mushroom that makes you super small and light weight so you can jump super high and fit into tiny spaces.there is also a shell mario can where in underwater levels that helps him swim faster.
this game keeps you very entertained because there are alot of secret levels and its fun trying to find them. but if you wanna take a break from the actual game there are a lot of mini games you can play that are kinda like the Mario Party games and they are very fun too. you can even battle against other DS players.
this game has a lot of elements from the older and newer mario games and i think it is a good game for mario fans of all ages.

Same Old Mario

This is a standard mario game. The DS double screens allow for some fun extra features like back up items and a scale of how far through a level you are. The game only takes about 8 hours to beat, but it is still very fun. If you love Mario you'll love this. If you want a game thats hard to beat you maybe disappointed.

A Portable Old School Mario with excellent Graphics

Those are the only two pros of this game. If you want to play the classic NES Mario games on your DS, then buy this. If you want a challenge or something new and different, then do not buy this. You will be sorely disappointed.

This is the same stale gameplay that plagues many generic platformers today, no matter what console. Just because it is Mario does not make it any better. The worlds themselves are mostly recycled, with some variances, from Super Mario 3. The boss battles are exactly the same. The only time the touch screen is even used for the gameplay is if you want to use the power up you have saved.

With the incredible potential this game had, it is wasted on rehashing the old NES games with better graphics. Once again, buy this only if you want a portable NES Mario game. Everyone else, stay away.

The Mario team has done it again, putting the New Super Mario Bros on the shelves. It has under goed a major make over, having better graphics, more power ups, more levels, ect than it's original. And better yet, it's for the hand held DS!

Poor Princess Peach becomes the damsel in distress (nothing new) and has been kidnapped by Baby Bowser! You need to save her!

When I started playing it, I sorta knew what to expect. Having played the original Mario Bros, I figured it would be pretty much the same. I guess I was wrong there!

The game played smoothly, and had very short loading periods. There are lots of levels, and to keep yourself occupied further, the creators threw in three star coins in each. These stars can unlock bonus levels, extra paths, and power-ups (not to mention 1up centers), and it's fun trying to find them all. There are also 8 worlds and loads of mini-games to play. Over-all, this game is fun and should keep anyone entertained.

The Multiplayer is probably the best for any DS game EVER! You and three friends can play about 40 different minigames. That's not all either. There is a newer feature, which allows two people to go head to head on a course to collect stars!

It's a great game, I'll give it that, but here are my reasons for giving it 3 stars.

1) You cannot save anytime. You can only save if you unlock something with stars or beat a castle level (for the first time). I would like to save whenever!!!!

2) Most of the 1 player minigames are duplicates of the hit Super Mario 64 DS.

3) The levels are pretty short, and the Star Coins aren't well hidden. It may not encourage somebody to play it again, after he or she has beaten it.

4) The story game doesn't use the DS's capabilities. The touch screen is almost never used, and neither is the mic. It's all buttons.

5) The game isn't very challenging to some players. If you want a challenging game, don't pick this one.

I give this game an average if 4 stars!
