This is one of the most fun Mario games I've played in a while! Basically, the name describes it perfectly-- it's a newer version of the original Super Mario Bros. The levels aren't the same as the original, but they have the same feel of simplicity and pure fun in general.
This game is great for long-time gamers, lovers of Mario, AND people who just bought their first video game. It's very accessible, and not too complicated, but still lots of fun. Get it!

The New Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo DS is a super fun game. I am a huge fan of classic video games. And this is definently just like the origional Super Mario Bros. It is so much fun and a game everyone should have. One of the best Nintendo DS games I own. I wish Luigi's Character apeared a bit more but that is the only, and very slight problem. This game gets 5 stars from me!

What else is there to say? Nintendo does a great job of updating the legend. Better graphics, better control... they keep it interesting, and the boss battles are cooler (but still as easy).
I like it better than the original, and that's something.
If you liked the original nintendo ....

If you liked the original nintendo (NES) you will love this game. Nintendo kept their 2D atmosphere, but inhanced it with new and exciting things. Mario eats a magic mushroom that turns him BIG ! If you crush everything in your path, you get 1ups ! A great games for that mario lover in your life ! I have so much fun with this game, and so does my boyfriend, and my friends.
I highly recomend it!

My kids were so excited to get this game. They are both Mario fans. They really enjoy playing against each other through the wireless connection. They both have thanked me several times for getting it for them.

This game is as close as I can remember to the original Super Mario Brothers game on the original Nintendo. It is quite fun.

This new super mario bros game is the best. If you play the original part of the game, it gets boring after a while. It is still fun though. The mini games are a blast. I actually like them more than the original part. I like the mini games because it involves the touch screen alot. The bad thing is that it is hard to get past some levels in the game. But it is still worth the price.

New Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo DS by Nintendo.
Well look what we have here, a new Super Mario Brothers game. The Super Mario Bros. franchise is 20 years old and they still are making fun and innovative games.
-Story-
Mario and Princess Peach are having a nice stroll around the Mushroom kingdom when the castle falls under attack. Mario, being the hero that he is, runs to help out at the castle. Leaving Princess Peach all alone to be kidnapped yet again. Thus starts your wonderful quest to rescue Princess Peach. (She needs self-defense classes)
To describe this game in one word WOW!
Witty, thought provoking puzzles.
Outstanding music. And graphics.
Wonderful gameplay. Great use of humor, like when you defeat the mini-castles and you see Princess Peach get dragged off to the main castle.
There are lots of secrets to discover on your quest to save the princess yet again.
Multi-player mini-games are great!
Now the complaints, I have 3.
1. Too short! I beat the game in less than 15 hours! Come on Nintendo!
2. Single player mini-games are not as good as the multi-player ones.
3. You cannot unlock any more games. What you start with is what you get.
Graphics / Music / Gameplay - 10/10 - What a great experience!
Overall 9/10 - It could have been perfect, if it was 15 more hours of Mario Goodness!
RUN fast and get this game. HOT title!

My husband, son and myself enjoy playing this game. We haven't taken this game out to play another one in at least a month. My son is 5 and loves to play this on car rides and at home. It's easy enough for him to play. There are also fun little games besides Super Mario Bros which we enjoy to play. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone.
