I'm enjoying the game, it was in perfect condition when I received it. I haven't had the chance to play as much as I'd like, but I will!

HAPPY GRAPHICS!!!

(I'm really 15, but I forgot our password stuff.) Like I said in the title, the graphics ROCK. I've only been playing it for an hour, but, like one reviewer said, there are long cutscenes and I can tell that Namco (I think it is) really spent time and money on this game. I would have rated it four and a half stars, but they don't have those. The reason why I don't rate it five is because of the battle system. I'm sorry, but I just don't like turn-based battles. I mean, in a real battle, your enemies/you wouldn't wait until everyone got a turn, right? NO! It would be an all-out melee! The only PS2 game I've witnessed/have with a melee battle-system is Star Ocean III. (A great game, too, but the first disk is better than the second.) However, if you look past this flaw, it is really an awesome game. The opening scene is really great- it shows some of the backround of what happened to the planet. The graphics here, and at the other scenes, are FFX-grade. Yes, that's what I said. This game also has an ORIGINAL story-line. (Other reviewers- and the game summary- probably has this, so I won't elaborate.) Not your ordinary lets-save-the-world-for-the-1156765432nd-time-sort-of-game. Yes, yes, it probably runs along those lines (again, I'e only played this game for an hour, so don't blame me if I'm wrong) but the premises are really different.... I'll shut up, tho, with one last request- PLAY THIS GAME!!!! It's worth your twenty bucks and more.

The most complicated RPG ever.

If your RPG has a character index and terms glossary built into the game, you can figure you've got a pretty complicated game. Unfortunatly, this doesn't always mean a -fun- game.

This game is a prequel in spirit to the PS1 rpg Xenogears, and features mostly the same combat mechanic of stringing together button presses to make combos. It also features long cutscenes with a heavy empathsis on foreshadowing and mentioning characters and terms who don't show up until hours later into the game.

The graphics are impressive, and the music is one of the few I've heard in an RPG that hasn't made me want to cut off the sound. (I wish I could turn off character voices, however). There's too much leveling up and enemy imbalance, though and the ending is mostly a let down.

Despite all that, the game feels longer than the 20-30 hours it takes you to play though (perhaps due to all the gambling for coin and leveling up needed). But is still a head-scratching, make you say huh?, enjoyment.

I cant wait for Episode II in 2004.

Who here thinks Final Fantasy 8 had the best story line so far the best RPG ever? I see a lot of hands right now....Who thinks FF10 HAD the best characters? More hands...good... now what would you say if I told you that after investing 79+ hours I have found a game with a story line ALMOST as gripping as FF8's. However the characters and plot are so good that this RPG has jumped all the way up to #1 in my book.(And PS2) First off characters are so deep and the cut scenes are soooooo well done that by the end you can't help but be absolutly engulfed by these wonderful characters and the deep story that is being told. The only down side is that you might go crazy having to wait for the other episodes!! But episode one ends at a very comfortable spot and gives you a great sense of accomplishment and wondering what will happen next!!! THIS GAME IS THE BEST GAME I HAVE PLAYED IN YEARS!!! (Well this and Halo) Let the saga take you! KOS-MOS FOREVER!

All it did was freeze

I heard that this game was good so I rented it at Blockbuster. When I put the disk in it froze when I hit "New Game" on the menu. I tried to do this may times and shut off my PS2 twice, but it still froze. I went back to get another copy, this one was only a little bit better because it would freeze as soon as the first cut scene started. It kept doing this as soon as the music started, so I returned t and got my money back.

great game, not as long as they say on the back

This game is infact great, yes but it is not very long, whoever
says 80 hours has clearly not beaten this game (I have!)and is retarted. It took me 32 hours (the american version). It is alot
of fun and is to addicting. The way the game wors is as followes: you set up tech attacks using t-points, u set up ether attacks much like the ffX sphere grid, and u of course levle up. Another
pro is u see every enemy u face :) To make a long story short it
is great
P.s the graphics are awsome too!

Why are you reading? Buy it now!

Okay, read this if your not sure.....

There`s `bout 80 hours of it, almost half cutseens (Trust me thats a very good thing with its A+ storyline and perfect graphics) the rest game play which is good too. The fights work like this: there is a gage that shows you who (or what) is going next. There is some action called 'BOOST' which, if you can at the time, lets you cut in front of the next person`s turn, giving you another turn. You attack useing combos (about7) use magic or suit up in your 20 foot tall robot that you can equip a weapon of a large, some times small, selection. I played 6 hours and theres about 1 magic move for each person so far though............

Though I haven't played enough of it yet, Xenosaga seems to be one of the most original RPGs Ive ever played. Never in my life have I played a videogame and recieved email ads about other games from the same company who produced this game. It has excellent graphics but there are some jaggies... many jaggies. Overall, give it a try, give it some time, and you will like it.
