OK, so many people out there probably haven't heard of this game, Guve this game a shot, I'm telling you know that this game will blow your mind, set new standards for what a game should be, and what it should do to you as a gamer. it will stirr emotions in you that you probably never knew you had while gaming, and it will challenge everything you think and do for the next 5 years of gaming (or atleast untill the next Xeno___ comes out). Get into this game, its deep, beautiful stroyline will grab you, and never look back, just succumb to its glory. And incase my little blurb in brackets didn't tip you off, Xenosaga is just part one of a six game series, Xenogears being the 5th in the series. Thats right, 4 more to go friends!!
Not Bad But Certainly Not Great

Xenosaga.... how you broke my heart....
I picked up this game expecting really great things and I was quite disappointed by the time I finished this game.
PROS:
-Great Graphics
-Great Sound
-Interesting Story
-EXTREMELY good bad-guy (Albido)
CONS:
-SLOOOOOWWWW Pace
-AGWS (Anti Gnosis Weapon System robots) look crappy
-Sub-par Characters (except KOS-MOS, she rocks)
-Music is too bland and repetitive
-Who designed the enemies is this game? The Gnosis sucked....
I LOVE the Final Fantasy series (FF7 IS the best game EVER) and I seem to compare every RPG to that series, which is probably a little unfair. However, that's how it is and in my humble opinion, Xenosaga is just not in the same league.
Great game for you big Sci-Fi fans but if you're like me and are waiting for the next Final Fantasy 7, look elsewhere.
Amazing.

I got this game on the spur of the moment. I had a little extra cash, so I figured "Let's just see what this brings". Boy, am I glad I did. Xenosaga is an experience like none other. Right from the very start the game was amazing. Not only were the graphics liquid and beautifully detailed, the story was complex and compelling. Each character was so complicated they could have had their own game. The developments of the story and characters kept me coming back for more. The game also pushed the emotional limits, making you feel terrible when a character was upset, making you exploding with joy when everything turned out okay. I love this game, and highly recommend it. It's a rewarding experience to play.

This game has a really complex plot. The world they are in is awesome and the characters and voice acting is very good. The fighting is like any RPG and the graphics are good and the cut scenes are the best. dramatic. The game is pretty long.
Xenosaga, worth all the money!

This game was awesome! This was one game I truly can say that I spent my money wisely. There are lots of videos, so if you cant take sitting and watching, your probably going to hate this game. The other thing is, it starts out a little slow (only about 5 minutes) then, it gets WAY AWESOME!!!! Buy it today!

This game was awsome. The world is large and the characters very well done. I can not wait for the next installment to the series. If you like RPG's then this is a must have.

I wasn't sure if I'd like this game, but I'm glad I took that risk! It does have long movies in between, but it gets you into the story. The only thing negative about this game (I think) is that the battles are too easy. There's a lot of walking around and exploring to do. This game will keep you really busy. The graphics are awesome, and this game can last up to 80 hours. So it's worth it.

I love this game, I was worried for quite some time that it wouldn't be equal to xenogears but I can say that I consider it xenogears equal in everything except for the length of storyline. Sadly xenosaga doesn't match up to xenogears 80+ hours of gameplay but it makes up for it with a few fun little events and some really fun mini games and quest such as to find certain giant robot parts.
I can't wait for xenosaga 2 to come out myself, even debating on setting aside 60 or so dollars so I can buy it as soon as it becomes available.
Skip this one and the second one, and jump right to part III.

As screenshots and video clips and other Xenosaga media began to circulate, would-be fans all wiped the drool from their mouths in sync, as if part of the same collective mind. It would be the blockbuster that set new standards, not only in terms of story like its predecessor, but visually as well with luscious anime-esque character models rendered meticulously in real-time. Oh, it would be the second coming for sure...and best of all; it would only be part 1 of 6 scheduled games, ensuring a long-standing euphoria.
But was Xenosaga worth all the media and fan hype? That depends on your expectations. If you're open-minded to the idea of equal parts gameplay and cinema, and can tolerate uninspired and sometimes aggravating play mechanics, all for the sake of experiencing one of the greatest audio-visual presentations in gaming history, then Xenosaga is right up your alley. If graphics, music, and story are prioritized beneath the actual gameplay, then you may want to find a friend like that first type of gamer, and simply watch him or her play it. That way, you reap all the benefits, but suffer none of the annoyances.
Fan of a good story? This is your new favorite game!

This is the first game in the Xenosaga trilogy and is an amazing game to say the least. The storyline of this game, and the series as a whole, is better than any form of storytelling I have ever experienced, movie, book, or game. It is truly that good. However, if you want a puff puff story line don't bother because it is quite complex, mature, deep, philosophical, psychological, and just plain awesome! The characters are all very likeable and have their individual well developed histories as well, there are no tag alongs in this game or the series, everyone is important and fully developed.
The musical score is also a huge accomplishment and the only soundtrack I have ever purchased for a game (I actually own all 3 episode's soundtracks). The voice acting is also very good, and they could not have found someone better for the voice of Kos-mos (who you see on the cover).
The gameplay is very fun and there are a good bunch of mini games to enjoy also, along with secrets. Basically, get ready to have a fun time and prepare to witness the first part of perhaps the best story you have ever experienced!
