A great addition to the C&C legacy

Renegade is a basic game, kill. The plot is thin but what else would you expect? I love being in the C&C universe, walking around seeing the buildings from a different perspective. The same voice is used, "Building Destroyed." It's I recommend this game to anyone that enjoys C&C. If you haven't played C&C, don't expect much from it. Also if you have a low-end computer and a slower ISP you will miss half the fun, Multi-Player.

Good, but could be better

1. The enemy AI. I killed the guy before he even noticed me!
2. It takes a really good system to run.
3. Voice acting is a little bad
4. I really like just going around in a mammoth tank running over and blowing up things.

This game is so sweet i dont know where to start. the one player has so many levels and the difficulty is hard, but not impossible. And the multiplayer is so awesome. U can actually fly choppers and have flamethrower dudes blow the [stuff] out of people and tanks. (by the way u can drive tanks too) If u want to try it out before u buy it (which i would reccomened) go to westwood.ea.com for the multiplayer demo for Renegade and other command and conquer games.
The demo does even compare to the real game

I've played this game and it is great. I can't wait till my pre-ordered version with the 8 extra(i heard there were five more skins to get) skins come. Like sydney's new skin with the Personal Ion Cannon. When i was playing i got sruck with the Obelisk. This game is great! Even if your not a CNC fan, i recommend you should get this First-Person-Shooter game!

Renegade is an incredible game. I've noticed a few people giving it a low score simply because of the somewhat laggy multiplayer demo...That is just a demo, and it is not always slow. If I can find the right server, it runs at a great speed for me, and I only have an 8 MB video card and 56k connection. Okay, back to the game. First off, the graphics aren't perfect. Then again, no game has perfect graphics. The gameplay, however, absolutely rocks. Partially it's a first person shooter. But in addition, 15 GDI and NOD vehicles are available to control whenever you feel like driving, with full weaponry. You can also use any weapon you can pick up, from machine guns to portable ion cannons. Simply put, this is an awsome game.

Yeah!!!!

Excellent game... i love the idea of it.... i also love how the flaws on the RTS came to live on FPS of course im talking about the all fashioned C&C tactic "the engineer rushing" this cheap tactics as been part of CnC since the Tiberian Dawn.. hehehehe
well the game its awesome.. the multiplayer is clearly the best part of the game... u should try this...
BTW if any1 want to join my clan.. email me.... the clan is called "Renegade Assault Team"

This game does capture the C&C feel very well, and it makes the player feel as if he's part of the overall battle that is continuously going on between GDI and Nod. Its looks are respectable, neither as beautiful as they could have been nor as wretched as other reviews have indicated. I am having no problems with choppy movement, again as other reviews have indicated.

Bad points, for me, include the typically asinine testosterone-filled cliches which litter the scripted conversations and cutscenes like droppings on a windshield. Westwood appears to be aiming at a target audience made up of male 13-year-olds, as both male and female characters reek of adolescent fantasy material. Trying to watch the cutscenes evokes the same feelings that seeing Gary Coleman on "The Weakest Link" did--a terrible desire to change the channel out of reflected humiliation (I can, at least, hit the power button on the speakers when the shooting stops).

It's not the best shooter by far, but it's good for some mindless entertainment and nostalgia value.

Bah

This game was by far one of the best I have ever played. The single player leaves some to be desired, but the real fun of CnC games has ALWAYS been the multiplay, and Renegade is no exception. Right now there are 10 diffrent levels to play on, some with defenses, some not. Both sides are also almost completly diffrent. While Nod will depend on stealth and hit and run tactics, GDI depends on brute force in your face fire power. Most of the complaints I have seen regarding this game so far are people saying that the defenses are too hard to get by. Well of course they are! Most people don't realize that this is a team game, so if your looking for a deathmatch, this isen't a game for you. It's no wonder half of the reviewers tell you about other deathmatch games or games like Tribes where the autoguns do everything for you. Also many people have been complaining about graphics. Ya the graphics aren't THAt pretty, but Westwoods engine is a completly new one. The reason they made a new one was to make the veichles as usable as they are, which no other FPS has been able to do. So all in all the game is about gameplay and teamwork, not pretty graphics and rambo-deathmatch style playing, although the headshots never hurt :)

very very fun, good for a first try

I have played many fps games, but one NEVER as strange as this. It was good ill admit, but one of the most terrible things was the ai (shown in other reviews). I mean, the reviewers were right the ai is horrible, you can use an ion cannon beacon on the hand of nod and the guard will stand there pickin' his nose while the place falls apart. A good point I must point out is the graphics, these were good, but could've been better. I like this game because it has the feel like your a real soldier in battle like in other CC's. Unlike a real one of those, you dont die in two hits because of a shotgun. another thing i love:buildings. These are full scale structures you can explore and destroy. You have an awsome selection of ways to blow it up, you can go for the terminal, place an ion cannon beacon, destroy the con. yard to make them unrepairable (the engineers can however), or just to wreak havoc upon it with a vehicle. The loading time I must say ... . Enough said on that. In the cut scenes, its like the first godzilla. Lock would say "WHAT DID U THINK YOU WERE DOING, HAVOC??!!!!" his mouth will go on and on and on. Overall I give this 4 and 1/2 stars. It was REALLY good considering a first try for westwood.I have no problem with the game play either
