An Instant Classic

I have loved the Command & Conquer since the beginning and I've loved everyone of them, and this is no exception. I fell in love with the AWSOME graphics, the multiplayer mode, and the campaign which is challenging and requires intelligent tactics, unlike so many other FPS games. If you get it, you'll love it to, gaurenteed.

I will be surprised if they dont make an expansion pack, cause thats what a game of this quality deserves.

Great!!

Renegade is going to set a new tone in the gaming world as far as graphics and online play go... they have been toiling over this game for years now making sure that they have gotten everything right and i am sure that westwood has gone above and beyond expectations with this game and they will do so in years to come! BUY RENEGADE!!

I cant believe how [bad] this game is! I was really disappointed in Westwood with this game. It doesnt flow at all. I have Geforce 4 card and a decent system but for some reason the play back on the in game movies is very choppy. Only game I own that does that. The AI is horrible, sound is below average and the choppyness of the movie editing is jaring. The enviorments are very sparse and lack a lot of detail. I love Red Alert 2 and Tiberian Sun was good too, but Westwood really did a bad job with this one. Im surprised on how it got this many good reviews on Amazon. If you like RTCW and Medal of Honor DONT BUY THIS GAME! Those games are WAY better. Ill play them over and over, but this one I wont even finish. I sell it or something. Its just that bad.

i got this game shortly 5 months ago,it rocks! the grapics would need a little updating, and on multiplayer, i don't even know where to get all those maps! but still, the game rocks... i love the hi-tech gear, i love the personal ion cannon, i mean that thing Rocks! i love to use both sides, i love Nods chemical weaponry, and in some maps i love using the apache! if command and conquer went to a new level, like online RP games using the chars from all the games, and put it into one game, like Starwars Galaxy and other games, i would play it, except the exception if they asked you to pay a big wad of money to play it, but if they do make a game like that and you don't have to pay, i'd buy it!

Fantastic Multiplayer

I haven't spent much time on the single player campaign here, but multiplayer this game rocks!

It's best with at least 12 guys on a side, and better still with 20, but it's fun anyway you play it. Grab a flame tank with three friends and make a flame rush, try an invisible soldier and jump into an enemy vehicle when the driver gets out to reapir it, then run him over!

I was playing last night, a damaged Humvee was coming right at me, my Raveshaw got off one shot and destroyed the vehicle, and my second shot killed the driver.

Or play as GDI, grab a Havoc and snipe to your heart's content. Sniping allows you incredible zoom power, and as Havoc one shot and any infantry target is dead (some require headshots). Or hop into an MRLS and pound enemy buildings, or save up for a Mammoth tank and slug it out with the enemy.

The game rewards teamwork, and even players with poor First Person Shooter skills can contribute, I'm only decent, myself. Tons of fun, I have played a few hundred games. Well worth the money. Good solid servers, easy access to patches and servers.

Highly recommended.

Be a renegade . . .

I am a major fan of C&C games and other FPS's and RTS's, but this game takes the cake, you actually get to be on the battlefield with your soliders, blowing up NOD soliders and Vehicles, and also look around in buildings you've always wanted to look into. On top of all of this, they have added C&C mode to multiplayer which allows to take control of a base, purchase different character class like Minigunners, Engineers, and yes even the legendary and all powerful Mammoth tank, you have to place your super weapon becon inside the enemy barracks to end C&C mode. Although
the system requirements are steep, I suggest you get this game.

Its really not worth your money. After you play the first stage, you will be amazed how beautiful and creative people from Westwood studios are. But after the second, third stage, you will realize that there's no point to beat this game. Ackward graphics, repetitive and boring. And its slow too. I'm sure that people who give this game 5 star is just playing the first stage only. WARNING: Because of slow and dropping framerates, dizziness and motion sickness will occur after half an hour playing.

What is this supposed to be?

Hm...When I first bought Renegade, I was expecting something to rival Halo (the best shooting game in the world), but instead, I was met with a pile of crud. Although its good qualities include that its so creative and that the multiplayer is exquisite (because online, there's an excuse for choppiness!) On single player, the missions are boring, long and frustrating in which all you do is shoot Nod soldiers and move. The weapons function oddly as well. Pressing 'R' to reload commonly makes your weapon reload two or three times and then shoot continuously, wasting your new clip anyway! Guns become weak in multiplayer and base defenses make it nearly impossible to infiltrate an enemy base. The choppiness I mentioned earlier is abundant in single player mode for no reason and the graphics look awful. The environments look as though poor children in sweat shops built them out of milk cartons in a country that had never seen milk cartons before! You also can adjust the graphics, but it makes the game ridiculously slow and choppy. Westwood sure spent its time making this 'crap-in-a-box' game, but the three years of programming seemed to have done nothing. The original screen shots from 1998 looked better than it does now. I just can't understand it. If you're looking for a game to be disappointed with, plop down 5000 lonesome soldiers for Renegade and get a good laugh at its thousands of problems.

Great game, almost perfect, but not quite.

This game is, as is suggested in the title, almost perfect, but not quite. Don't get me wrong, I bought it, but there are still some issues with graphics and gameplay that some individuals may find annoying.

Any real C&C fan will instantly fall in love with it, as I did, but others will be hard-bought.

All in all, it is a very fun ... game that is definately worth the money you will spend on it.

It is an excellent game! MUST BUY!

Renegade is an awesome game for many reasons
- awesome, not to be matched graphics by the EA group
- nice gameplay both multiplayer and single player
- wide variety of weapons and characters
- it is just like Westwoods Command and Conquers games except FPS, and more action

The multiplayer demo is nothing compared to Andrew's review....
The demo remember, may not have all the options the real game does. The real game overs MORE MAPs, MORE WEAPONS, MORE VEHICLES, AND MORE STORAGE TO HOLD WEAPONS. The reload actions do not appear twice, so that is false!

MUST BUY! Also when you get it, download GAMESPY, it hosts at least 30 East Coast and 30 West Coast FatPipe servers which go from ping 40-170 (thats mighty low = NO LAG)! It also includes custom servers which have OC CONNECTIONS. If you are to download the demo, get 1.007 or higher!
